Thank you for your review. We regret that the renewal came as an unexpected development for you, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the facts for readers.

Upon registration, all members are required to explicitly accept our Terms & Conditions before their account can be created. These Terms — including the automatic renewal clause — are permanently accessible on our website and were available to you at the time of signup.

Over the course of the year, we sent multiple renewal reminders to the email address you provided during registration. All messages were successfully delivered. As stated in our Terms & Conditions, it is each member’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details remain accurate and accessible. In addition to the email reminders, a formal notice of default was sent by post prior to any involvement of a collection agency.

You have acknowledged that you simply forgot about the membership. While we understand this can happen, non‑use of a service does not cancel a valid agreement, nor does it void the renewal obligations that were accepted at the time of registration.

For transparency:
We do not escalate directly to debt collection. This step is taken only after repeated reminders and a formal written notice, in accordance with Dutch consumer and contract law.

We regret that the situation has caused frustration, and we are always willing to review individual cases to ensure fairness and proportionality. If you would like us to re‑examine your file or discuss the matter further, please contact us directly so we can assist you.

Het spijt ons dat u dit zo ervaart, maar wij moeten deze beschuldiging duidelijk rechtzetten.

Wij werken volledig volgens onze Algemene Voorwaarden, waarmee ieder lid actief akkoord moet gaan voordat een registratie kan worden voltooid. Deze voorwaarden zijn 24/7 openbaar beschikbaar op onze website.

Indien uw review betrekking heeft op een te late betaling of een openstaande factuur, dan is het belangrijk om te vermelden dat:

ieder lid minimaal zes betalingsherinneringen per e‑mail ontvangt;

bij uitblijvende betaling altijd een schriftelijke ingebrekestelling per post wordt verstuurd;

het lid zelf verantwoordelijk is voor het up‑to‑date houden van het opgegeven e‑mailadres en postadres.

Als uw review niet over een betalingskwestie gaat, dan is ons helaas niet duidelijk waar uw opmerking op gebaseerd zou kunnen zijn. Wij nodigen u dan ook uit om rechtstreeks contact met ons op te nemen zodat wij uw dossier kunnen bekijken.

Wij begrijpen dat iemand gefrustreerd kan raken over een situatie. Dat kan gebeuren. Maar ongefundeerde en feitelijk onjuiste aantijgingen helpen niemand en geven geen eerlijk beeld van onze dienstverlening.

Wij staan altijd open voor een inhoudelijk gesprek en helpen u graag verder wanneer u zich bij ons meldt.

We’re sorry to read your message and disappointed that you’ve chosen to share such a negative impression, especially given the facts of the matter.

To clarify: Golf4Holland does not engage in “silent” renewals. Our membership policy is communicated clearly and repeatedly. Upon registration, every member must agree to our Terms & Conditions. These are short and straightforward, and the very first section states:

1.5. The membership is automatically renewed annually unless the Member or Golf4Holland terminates it.
1.6. The membership should be terminated before December 1 of each calendar year.

This information is not buried in fine print — it’s directly included in the confirmation email you received upon joining, which explicitly states:

“If, at some point, you wish to cancel your membership with us, please do so before December 1st of that year.”

To ensure continued access, every email we’ve sent you since has included a direct link to these same Terms & Conditions.

We understand that overlooking a cancellation deadline can be frustrating. But the necessary information was provided clearly and well in advance. Suggesting that we deliberately fail to inform our members is simply not accurate or fair.

All our members agree to the Terms and Conditions upon joining. These can be found at the bottom of every page on our website and in every email we send. The Terms and Conditions are concise and very clear, particularly regarding the cancellation of membership.

Timely cancellation is, of course, always important, regardless of where you are a member. It is also always the responsibility of the member, not the organization to which they belong. The organization assumes that members have read and are familiar with the Terms and Conditions they agree to at the time of joining.

However, the organization must ensure that members can easily find how and when they can cancel their membership, which is certainly the case with Golf4Holland.

The process is straightforward. At Golf4Holland, you can cancel your membership via email. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.

All of this is clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions, which can be accessed at the bottom of every page of our website:

Al onze leden gaan akkoord met de Algemene Voorwaarden als ze lid worden.
Ze zijn te vinden onderaan iedere pagina van onze website.
En in iedere Email die door ons verstuurd wordt.
Die Algemene Voorwaarden zijn kort en heel duidelijk - met name over het beëindigen van het lidmaatschap.

Tijdig opzeggen is, waar u ook lid bent, natuurlijk altijd belangrijk.
Het is ook altijd de verantwoordelijkheid van het lid en nooit die van de partij waar men lid is.
De partij waar men lid wordt gaat ervan uit dat men de Algemene Voorwaarden, waar men akkoord mee gaat bij aanvang van het lidmaatschap, gelezen heeft en er bekend mee is.
Die partij moet wel zorgen dat u altijd gemakkelijk kan vinden hoe en wanneer u kunt opzeggen.
En dat is bij Golf4Holland zeker het geval.

Het is ook zeker niet ingewikkeld.
Bij Golf4Holland kunt u per email opzeggen.
Eenvoudiger kan het niet.

Het staat allemaal kort en helder omschreven in Algemene Voorwaarden, die iedereen onderaan iedere pagina van onze website kan vinden

Beste Henk,
Tijdig opzeggen is waar je ook lid bent altijd belangrijk.
Het is ook altijd jouw verantwoordelijkheid en niet die van de partij waar je lid bent.
Die partij moet wel zorgen dat jij altijd gemakkelijk kan vinden hoe en wanneer je kan opzeggen.

Opzeggen kan eenvoudig via een email. Het hele jaar door.
Voor 1 december.
Binnen 48 uur ontvang je daar een bevestiging van als je email bij ons ontvangen is.

Al deze zaken staan kort en helder omschreven in Algemene Voorwaarden, die je onderaan iedere pagina van onze website kan vinden
