Major billing discrepancy – GA Support Ticket #4-5116000040337 poorly processed
In our Shopping campaign from 7–14 March 2026, Google Ads billed us for up to 4x more clicks than actual sessions, starting exactly on the day when we doubled our daily budget.
Support (Ticket #4-5116000040337) was handled by Marcel, gTech Customer Experience, who requested our Google Analytics account and email, then dismissed the issue as “no technical problem” and refused a CHF 125 refund.
We are shocked by the huge number of reviews on Trustpilot about Google Ads, with 96% giving 1-star and complaining about the exact same issue: overcharging for clicks that did not result in real user engagement. Reviewers call Google Ads a “scammer” or a “rip-off.” This confirms that our experience is not isolated, but seems to reflect a modus operandi, a system by which Google earns revenue at the expense of advertisers.
Due to this, we have stopped all campaigns permanently. We will not restart any Google Ads campaigns until the overcharged amount is refunded, as we have lost trust and are convinced that Google charges for clicks that did not result in real user engagement.

I then called their team they said they don’t keep records but will call me back to rectify the problem guess what no call back. I emailed my complaint haven’t heard a word.
Don’t use these guys if you really want to build your brand they are a bunch of idiots who simply don’t understand customer loyalty or service when it was going to cost us over £1600 for the campaign.
We are very disappointed with Google Ads.

Google ads is an absolute con, a scam, a rip off…spent over £1000 and never seen a single add, not made a single sale. Yet inform me I am getting 80 clicks a day..so where are they coming from..certainly not Google and certainly not from people looking for my products.
I track the clicks on Analytics and they don’t even go anywhere near the products…totally a scam.
My products are fine..selling on EBay no problem……

Ich habe für heute einen Termin mit dem GoogleAds Support und mir dafür Zeit genommen. Leider umsonst. Erst kommt 8 Minuten vorher ein Aufschub und dann sitze ich hier erneut vor einem leeren Bildschirm. Schlimmer geht Service und Support nicht. Wenn es doch nur eine Alternative gäbe!

Je souhaite vous faire part de mon profond mécontentement concernant le service client google ans qui est déplorable.
J’ai lancé une campagne publicitaire suite à votre offre promotionnelle indiquant qu’en dépensant 400 € en trois mois, je pouvais bénéficier d’un crédit de 400 €.
Au total, j’ai engagé 600 € de dépenses publicitaires. Toutefois, je n’ai pas pu bénéficier de l’offre, car votre système a limité mes dépenses à 384 € jusqu’à la date butoir, puis a consommé plus de 140 € en seulement dix jours après cette échéance.
Malgré plusieurs réclamations et demandes de geste commercial, aucune solution ne m’a été proposée.sauf désolé et c'est dommage pour pour vous !
Je trouve cette situation particulièrement injuste, compte tenu de l’investissement réalisé et de ma bonne foi.
Il est difficilement compréhensible qu’un groupe de votre envergure n’apporte aucune réponse commerciale à ce type de situation.
Cette expérience ne m’encourage malheureusement pas à renouveler des campagnes publicitaires auprès de vos services.
Je reste dans l’attente d’un retour de votre part et d’une solution commerciale adaptée.

I’ve spent hours trying to resolve a basic issue with my Google Ads campaign — they keep insisting I need a website, even though I clearly stated (and configured the campaign) to run without one. Instead of a helpful explanation or a human response, I get a string of automated messages saying my ad is “non-compliant” — with no root cause or clear guidance.
I love Google... Mail, Drive, Meet, Gemi—everything is so intuitive. But Google Ads, OMG. I programme and deliver complex FS solutions. Their automated messages total uninformative. UI could not be more complex if they tried. Great for Ad agencies. Terrible for the Consumer.
We will stick to the Meta Business... 10 mim exercise. Right First Time!!!
There’s no real support or resolution path, just a loop of generic emails that repeat the problem without solving it. Small businesses like mine need answers, not robotic responses.
Disappointed that such a powerful platform has such poor customer care when something goes wrong.

Trotz korrekter und klarer Produktinformationen wurden unsere Kampagnen für ein **Haarpflegeprodukt** von **Ybera Paris** wiederholt abgelehnt, weil das automatisierte System es fälschlicherweise als **Arzneimittel** einstufte. Diese Fehlklassifizierung hat erhebliche wirtschaftliche Schäden verursacht, da unsere beworbene Zielgruppe nicht erreicht werden konnte.
Die Probleme im Detail:
* **Fehlerhafte Algorithmen:** Der Kern des Problems liegt in einem fehlerhaften Algorithmus, der nicht in der Lage ist, zwischen kosmetischen Haarpflegeprodukten und pharmazeutischen Mitteln zu unterscheiden. Schlüsselwörter wie "Haargesundheit" oder "Kopfhautpflege", die im Friseur- und Beauty-Sektor gängig sind, führen sofort zu einer automatischen Sperrung. Die menschliche Logik wird hier komplett ignoriert.
* **Ineffektiver Widerspruchsprozess:** Der manuelle Widerspruch, der als einziger Ausweg angeboten wird, ist ein Witz. Man muss einen langwierigen Prozess durchlaufen, um einen Mitarbeiter zu erreichen, der den Kontext versteht. * **Keine Kundenunterstützung:** Der Support ist kaum existent. Statt konkreter Hilfe erhält man nur vorgefertigte Antworten, die auf die allgemeine Richtlinie verweisen, anstatt das spezifische Problem zu lösen. Das Gefühl der Hilflosigkeit wird dadurch nur verstärkt.
**Fazit:**
Google Ads hat uns nicht nur Zeit und Geld gekostet, sondern auch massive Frustration bereitet. Das System funktioniert nicht für Produkte, die in einem Graubereich liegen, und die manuelle Überprüfung ist ein Flaschenhals. Für jedes Unternehmen, das keine "Standardprodukte" verkauft, ist Google Ads in seiner aktuellen Form nicht zu empfehlen. Die beworbene Effizienz ist eine Lüge. Google scheint sich mehr um seine fehlerhaften Algorithmen zu kümmern als um die Unternehmen, die versuchen, ihre Produkte ehrlich zu bewerben.
Google Ads ignores clear scams targeting children
I reported several fraudulent ads on Google Ads that promise “free game currency” (like Robux or V-Bucks) to children. These ads redirect to fake pages that trick users into installing suspicious apps or completing surveys to harvest personal data. The advertiser even disguises itself as a charity to appear trustworthy.
I submitted detailed reports twice, citing violations of Google’s own policies (Misrepresentation, Cloaking, Data collection, Advertising to children), but Google’s Trust & Safety team dismissed both. It feels like Google prioritizes ad revenue over protecting users, especially vulnerable kids.

I am profoundly grateful that someone of good breeding and who shows a modicum of deference to a customer’s plight has seen fit to reply.
Were you to act consistently as a human being, rather than merely as a servant of Google, you would, I suggest, endeavour to place yourself in my position:
I have never, at any time, initiated a Google Ads marketing campaign. I have never set up a marketing scheme, never completed any forms on your website, never launched a campaign — for the simple and perfectly reasonable reason I explained, somewhat curtly, to the lady who dealt with me: my enterprise is not yet constituted as a company in the Mercantile Registry nor before a notary in my country. Consequently, even if I wished to, I could not lawfully run a campaign: my (future) company lacks the legal capacity to accept clients or to invoice for services; I cannot even open a company bank account. That fact alone ought, from your vantage point, to make it plain that I did not commence any campaign. I cannot access Google Ads to find any words, phrases, slogans or marketing copy in my name because there is nothing there — I am unable to enter my campaign space and verify what has occurred. I did not write, nor submit, any form containing advertising slogans or client-acquisition narratives. In short: there is nothing to inspect.
On that basis, only two explanations remain plausible: (a) Google, in some manner, has caused a campaign to be launched on my behalf without my consent (AI? bots? automated processes?), or (b) your system has been the subject of a criminal intrusion. The sole, wholly defenseless victim of whatever has transpired — as regards your Customer Service — is myself. I can see no other alternative except, with all due respect, (c) that it is standard practice for Google to deceive, defraud and steal from its customers. Frankly, I find that third hypothesis hard to entertain; I struggle to believe Google to be a flagrant fraudster. Does any other explanation occur to you?
Given my financial circumstances, a refund is neither vital nor imperative; I have not demanded one. This is principally a matter of moral and ethical principle. My entire life I have placed faith in vast corporations such as Google because they are giants whose philosophy, I presumed, embraced at least a basic standard of ethics, probity and good practice — standards to be preferred to many governmental or corrupt establishments. That faith has now evaporated. It is not the modest sum, which I believe has been taken from me, that concerns me; it is the sense of vulnerability I now feel as a user. If my account has been unlawfully manipulated so that a campaign was triggered — whether by Google itself or by third parties (hackers) — the customer, I, have no defence. Moreover, in light of the tone with which your colleague, Mrs / Miss Milena, dismissed me — authoritatively, chaotically and without any civility or sensitivity to a client seeking assistance — I find it difficult to continue to communicate with you in good faith. You have breached the basic covenant of customer assistance and the mutual trust between provider and client.
In view of the foregoing, put your hand to your heart and answer, as a person rather than an employee: would you, in my vulnerable position, trust Google Ads again and expose your bank account to the same hands that have, in your view, already defrauded you once? You will appreciate that I was obliged to cancel my debit card after seeing two successive charges of €10 and then €50; believing the account compromised and that further unauthorised transactions would follow, I spent many hours cancelling the card and ordering a replacement. That replacement will not reach me before I depart on holiday, so I must now travel with cash. You have thereby inflicted harm of a kind not easily repaired. I have also devoted many hours to “spreading the word” online in an effort to mount a campaign of public disapprobation against Google Ads. My long-earned holiday peace and personal felicity have been seriously disturbed. There are further consequences. You kindly offer me a 50% discount — though it is unclear upon what exactly that discount would be applied — on the condition I re-register for your service and sacrifice yet another bank card which I do not possess and shall not have for weeks. Having lost complete confidence in Google Ads and in your customer-service, do you seriously expect me to entrust you once more with my banking details? Personally, as an employee, would you do so? ...

Everytime I try to get support I am given the option for the community forum where some moron told me that the ads.txt don't affect the ads, they do, otherwise I wouldn't get a red banner in the control panel.
I pay a lot of money for Google Workspace, just for it to not support Adsense which is completely ridiculous!
If it sounds too good to be true
I come at this from a different angle. I have purchased items from the Google/YouTube ad breaks and each one has been a fraudulent seller. Each order I have waited twice the amount of time for delivery and the items never arrived. Then I had to get on to my credit card company to get a refund. Don't fall for the too good to be true offers because they are. The YouTube ads are just a scam. One is for an £800 drone with three batteries for just £60. I have to admit I fell for that one.

Google burde lære av bedrifter som tar kunders erfaringer på alvor, det er de som har framtida foran seg. Google derimot låser seg inn i sitt eifenbenstårn og hverken ser, hører eller snakker med almuen, en almue som har lagt grunnlaget for deres overdådige rikdom
og nå har voi kommet til november, fortsatt har ikke Google løftet en finger for å finne ut hvordan de kunne "svindle" meg, ved at noen trolig har brukt min konto for å betale for sine utgifter

Speso oltre i 400€ ora sto di recuperare la promozione, ma nessun aiuto, contatto l'assistenza che dice che ti invia un'e-mail con le istruzioni, e-mail che non arriva mai.
