Great trip. The staff and food were terrific. Beds were comfortable. We met several people on board.

The trip was actually very good, but we had many problems getting our reservations correct. My wife was paired with another man’s name. Straightened that out but ended up with our last name misspelled. On the tour, 2 of our tours did not have us listed but we did have our paperwork and were able take the tours. One of our tours showed the boarding location incorrectly printed on the documents, we had to run a half mile to catch our tour. I would not recommend these travel agents. One more thing, when getting to the train be a little earlier than an hour before as you select eating times prior to boarding based on your arrival time.
Overall, a very nice trip, however, there were several mistakes made with transportation/tours. We traveled with friends and set up the trip together, however there were three times that their names did not show up on the passenger list requiring phones calls to get it sorted out. Also, we were given the wrong location to meet a tour bus, which added stress and literally caused us to run around town in Banff to find the correct location over a mile away - not to mention the added time, so we didn't have as much time to do other things that day. It just seemed like they didn't communicate well with vendors, and two of the vendors stated that this is not unusual for this travel agency - Great Rail Journeys aka Vacation by Rail.
This was an excellent adventure across the Canadian provinces of British Columbia and Alberta.
Not a good travel experience. We originally booked over a year ago then in May we get a call from our travel specialist(Efi) that we were not booked after it was all paid for. we were driving to Vancouver, so we had to cancel 3 nights of hotel reservations and then rebook everything and out flights from Calgary back to Vancouver. Then a week before were got ready to go, we got the updated itinerary. 1 night in Jasper, 1 night in Lake Louise, 2 nights in Banff. we get to Banff and the clerk at the hotel asked me if I had called that morning, of course I sd no. She stated that they originally only has us down for 1 night, So we had pack everything back up and check out of our room at 11am on the 25th and take our bags to the front desk and then check back in at 4pm in the afternoon for a different room. so what were we supposed to do for 5 hours before we could check back in. For the amount that the trip cost and the hassles we went thru I would not recommend this adventure. I do expect a response to this review.
This was a fabulous trip. We enjoyed just about all aspects of it. This company advertises their tours as guided tours. I think the discription is more like a trip planned by a travel agent where you know where and when to go, but are responsible for getting yourself to the different locations.
It was great with the exception I was far away from my brother and sister in law. I was also supposed to get a double room but only got a single sleeping compartment.
I learned that being unescorted meant I needed to fill the time myself. Would rather have a guide.
British Columbia is spectacular! The scenery is stunning. I gave a three star review due to my hotel reservations and excursion tour reservations being booked incorrectly. More than one vendor confirmed that Jonview, the booking agency, is difficult to work with and frequently books inaccurately.
