Wonderful scenery. Loved the area. Good company. Helpful tour leader. My hotel room was pretty basic. There didn’t seem to be an across the board standard. Waiting staff were lovely. Food was satisfactory and plentiful. Wished I had taken advantage of case delivery. I didn’t realise it would be delivered to second destination. Two level trains are quite difficult to manage when you are getting older.
Excellent holiday with a good balance of trips and free time. Hotel in a great location. Our guide Lina was fantastic and very informative.
Excellent scenery and the usual Swiss cleanliness and efficiency.
Need to be fit to put luggage in overhead racking,

Great time with a really good mixed group The tour manager was exceptionable and went above and beyond to make our experience special The Hotel was the only slight downer as we were not made to feel welcome by the owners albeit the serving staff were great and saved their reputation This tour is a must to anybody who loves spectacular scenery
Excellent location and wonderful excursions. Very helpful Tour Manager. Everything ran very smoothly. Perhaps a different hotel to make it 5 stars.
Most things good. I can think of 3 improvements though. Last time GRJ put us on a simple upgrade on Eurostar - this would have been better this time also. Lunches were a disappointment. To simple, just meat or cheese between 2 thick pieces of bread and no salad each day was too boring!! Finally the coach trip round Paris was a complete waste of time - we didn't see anything interesting, no commentary, and left no time for a meal at the station.
Trips fantastic, hotel not so great
It was an amazing holiday. Such beautiful scenery. Our guide was really good. Would love to go on another GRJ holiday.
Too many in the group, so the Tour Manager struggled to get her messages across the everybody (she doesn't have the loudest of voices), and the hotel struggled to serve the evening meal in a reasonable time.
Apart from the 5 train return journey, the rest of the holiday was excellent. A great balance between organised excursions and free time.
The holiday was well organised and our Guide excellent. The group was rather large (36 of us) and we all felt that was a lot for one tour guide to deal with although he was excellent. The group also gelled well considering the size. The only downside was the hotel in Wilderswil. While acknowledging it was a very old hotel, the rooms although a good size and comfortable were very warm, no air conditioning and fans were unavailable so sleeping comfortably was impossible. Also no tea or coffee making facilities were allowed in rooms due to fire hazards which we were a little surprised about since our room had a hairdryer in the bathroom. The food was very good but limited possibly due to the size of the group. We were crammed into a dining room which barely accommodated the group. Additionally at one point we were prevented from using the garden area as the hotel wanted the space for dining guests, not us though! We felt we were treated as second class citizens at that point. We would use Great Rail Journeys again but would check out the accommodation offered more thoroughly before booking.
Wonderful, well put together tour. Tour Manager was exceptional.
Too many in Group
Everything organised well, plenty to do. The Tour Guide was always available if needed
