I started out my Ground School as an adult learner who was just starting my aviation journey in 2015. Gold Seal/Groundschool.com was fairly new then but it seemed like a really good option. After doing a bunch of research, I went ahead and joined up. I've passed my tests and check ride with no issues and will soon be completing my instrument rating using their material as well.

The lessons and interactive multi-media format are detailed, and engaging, for many different types of learners. Presentation is world class for online learning, in my mind, the best available. This is heavy duty material and they manage to keep it interesting and engaging. Retention is excellent. The additional tools such as downloadable PDF summaries and regulatory material, and quiz/test generators are TOP NOTCH.

To cap it all off the owner and founder Russ Still is not only an accomplished pilot and instructor, he is a strong and active supporter of the entire aviation and aviation learner community. He is always involved and available for guidance and help.

There are quite a few flight training ground school options out there. I've tried several but Gold Seal has been the CLEAR best for me, and, has always demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement and to the community. Choose Gold Seal with confidence!

Wonderful organization with terrific courses

I have been recommending my students to gold seal for years. No other ground school is as devoted to continually improving their product and ensuring their customer satisfaction. Customer service is second to none, which is evident by all the reviews you see here.

Great online ground school. I’ve used Sportys but Gold Seal is far superior. The information is presented methodically and easy to find again to review later. Presentations are informative with references to additional reading material.

As a CFI, I always recommend Gold Seal. The Learning Management System is such a huge benefit to the student and myself. We can track easily progress and go over lessons together, or remotely. I have found that when a student comes to me for training and already has completed the Gold Seal ground school, their training timeline is so much faster, and they have more knowledge than most. This ground school is clear ,concise and very understandable. Excellent and functional interactive learning . Using this tool has been the best ground school choice of all the resources I have used .

Gold Seal is fantastic. Of all of the ground training I've received, the instrument pilot was top notch and got me through my test just fine. It's hard to consume all of the material but I feel like it was really well presented. It was very easy to go back and re-study. An excellent experience for sure!

I started using Gold Seal ground school earlier this year, as I began flight training. It has been extremely effective in teaching me what I need to know, and my CFI constantly tells me how much he appreciates the knowledge I have already learned, so we can focus on flying the airplane. Russell at Gold Seal has been fantastic, I had one small issue with sound on one of the lessons and he fixed it just hours later! I have nothing but good things to say about Gold Seal!

Gold Seal helped me pass my IRA written exam with a 95%. I gained a comprehensive knowledge of the material, and when I went in front of the examiner yesterday to do my instrument checkride, I passed my oral with flying colors. Thanks, Gold Seal!

Well organized and attractively produced web-based program. A mix of animation, interactive video, text slides, and supplemental reading from the FAA publications (PHAK and AFH). Quizzes after each topic and at the end reinforce details. The instructors have a friendly, confidence-inspiring attitude both in the videos and in answering questions by email and the Facebook. They are very responsive and knowledgeable. My practice test scores accurately predicted my final FAA test score (over 90%). I wish they had non-interactive audio or audio/video lessons available to make it possible to learn while commuting, exercising or doing chores, when interacting with a web browser to click to the next screen or answer questions isn't practical. Some topics are only covered in the supplemental reading assignments.

Love the way the content is laid out. Tests are great and it was a bonus my CFI could monitor my progress. I also purchased the Instrument program.

Stop right here and do not look for another ground school! Gold Seal is the key to a passing score! Russell does a great job in explaining the subject. Money well spent; next course is already loading.

As for the education piece, the content is up to date and state of the art! The quizzes and tests keep you engaged plus the animation is awesome and keeps your visual attention there! It’s not someone standing in front of a screen talking. It has visual and real life scenarios that add that 3rd dimension to the training.

As for the Gold Seal team - Russell is fully engaged in supporting the flight learning community! He is very engaged in his social media and is willing to help wherever he can!

I cannot say enough good things about Gold Seal’s online ground school. With other ground schools, I am sure I would have just been a number. With Gold Seal, I felt like I had a support system throughout the process. Russ reached out to me personally a number of times to answer my question and to inquire about my progress. Being an older PPL Student with a very busy career and no prior aviation experience, I needed things succinct and put in layman‘s terms. Gold seal did that for me which provided the knowledge I needed while not wasting my time. I recommend and have recommended Gold Seal’s online ground school to anyone looking to start or continue their aviation journey. You can’t go wrong with Gold Seal!

Whenever someone asks in a forum or anywhere on social media which ground school I recommend, gold seal is the immediate answer. The program itself is extremely well thought out and professionally presented. But for me, the most important thing is how responsive they are when you have questions. My only requirement of any instructor live or online, is the ability to have a conversation and ask deeper questions. So far, they have helped both myself and my son with private pilot ground as well as instrument. Cannot recommend them enough.
