Not a good experience
Not a good experience. Persuaded to purchase ceramic coating by Porsche East London (with new car) on basis it would "protect paintwork". Never bothered previously. No mention of paint chip exclusion or indeed any other exclusion on limited literature provided. Small but deep chip/scratches caused by small stone noticed about 4 months after purchase. GTechniq pointed me to small print of terms provided on line (tick box only) at registration (some days after purchase) with a list of items not covered. These terms were never sent to me.
They then tell me that chip exclusion is standard practice which is not borne out by my own research. Coating appears to have offered no protection at all against offending small stone - inspection requested/declined by GTechniq. Was ceramic coating applied correctly? How do they know?
It cannot be right to attempt to retro apply terms and conditions after sale.

Making a customer aware of product limitations post sale is totally unacceptable. Particularly when it is obviously such a contentious area. Why isn't your marketing material clear?

You have still not confirmed why your product limitations are confirmed POST sale. They simply have no validity.

No response from GTechniq. Disappointing but consistent.
08/04/24 - GTechniq now pushes me back to Porsche when they know full well that I have recourse rights against either retailer (Jardine) or manufacturer (GTechniq). Nice.

We are sorry to hear of the above experience.
It is important to note that Gtechniq in no way makes any claims on our literature or websites that state the product protects the paint from stone chips.
All the literature states that the system makes paint slick, offers UV, swirl, and chemical resistance, and makes the paint much easier to maintain.
The only product that will offer protection against stone chips would be a paint protection film which is very different from a ceramic coating.
When customers sign up for the guarantee we make it clear in the terms and conditions that stone chips are not covered.

We do not make any claims in any of our literature or websites that the product protects from stone chips. We are very clear and state it reduces swirls, resists high pH wash chemicals, and makes ongoing maintenance easy.
As with any contract there are terms and conditions where we stipulate the exclusion. These are publicly available via our site for those who want to view them whilst considering the purchase.
Your contract of sale would be with the dealership that you purchased the product from, so your last point would be one for them to consider and advise further on.

Having used many different products over the years I am always sceptical when it comes to spending more and being disappointed but have to say after my first experience with several products I ordered recently I'm impressed!

DIY ceramic coating
Never used a DIY ceramic coating before. Went on very easily: Crystal Serum Light followed by Evo v4 from the Ultimate Protection Kit. 30ml enough for a smallish SUV (Mazda CX30). It makes the Soul Red really pop. Time will tell how durable it is....
