I cannot recommend Hawkins Law Solicitors highly enough. They handled my property completion in a matter of weeks, and the entire process was seamless from start to finish. My first point of contact at Hawkins Law Solicitors was Farooq, followed by Aqeel, and I want to emphasise how exceptional both of them were throughout my experience. They are junior members of the team, yet they demonstrated professionalism, attentiveness, patience, and genuine care at every stage. Their communication was clear, they were consistently helpful, and they made me feel supported during what can often be a stressful process. Farooq and Aqeel are a real asset to the firm, and I sincerely hope they are recognised, appreciated, and looked after for the quality of work they deliver.

My experience with the solicitor handling my matters was more mixed. I never met her in person as she was home‑based, which felt off‑putting, and I often had to chase for updates. On one occasion, when I called to follow up, I was told that I “hadn’t paid enough for the service,” which is not something a client should hear in that manner. Conversations about fees should always be handled professionally and courteously.

However, I do want to acknowledge that we eventually reached a good understanding, and once aligned, the matter was completed well. I am grateful for the final outcome and the effort that went into resolving everything.

When I returned to the firm for a fourth, much simpler matter - just a name change - I was quoted significantly higher fees than what I had paid for a full property sales. This was extremely disappointing and felt disproportionate. It gave the impression that the firm preferred not to take me on again as a returning client. Because of this, I would not feel comfortable recommending the firm to family or friends.

I want to end by reiterating that Farooq and Aqeel truly stood out. Their professionalism, dedication, and work ethic deserve recognition, and they were the highlight of my experience with Hawkins Law Solicitors. I am giving the firm four stars for this specific reason.

In my experience, Hawkins was more than a solicitor during my conveyancing. Their professionalism, experience and genuine steps that show they had my interest at heart is definitely worth emulating. I will definitely recommend if you are looking for solicitors that do not remind you of robots without emotions.

I had a very poor experience with Hawkins Law during my buy-to-let mortgage process.

They told me that critical documents had been sent to my lender, StrideUp, on time, but this was not true. The documents were actually sent the following day missing the deadline and causing my mortgage offer to expire. As a result, I had to pay an additional product fee and valuation totalling around £1500 through no fault of my own.

The Solictor lied to me and informed me the documents were sent. I basically had one day before the offer would expire ..again through no fault of mine. I heard nothing from Hawkins for the first few months . I was chasing them and they were just very casual about the timeframe. Then all of a sudden big manic calls from Hawkns literally giving me days to sign and send docs which I did in the timeframe requested from them .

They also failed to properly check the mortgage expiry date, incorrectly calculating it from the offer date instead of the valuation date, which was clearly stated in the lender’s documents. This mistake cost me £1500 for another product fee and valuation.

When I addressed this issue to Hawkins , they were silent . No response to my emails. Just complete silence!

I then submitted a formal complaint and again received no response. I will now be addressing this to the financial ombudsman as quite frankly it’s appalling service. Lying to me , especially in the month of Ramadan.

Overall, their poor attention to detail, incorrect information, and lack of communication caused unnecessary delay, stress, and financial loss. I would not recommend their services.

To be honest I'm not at all happy with the service so far and expressed this on the phone to the staff member, who had no resolution or solution for me.
I was taken in by all the other positive reviews but they seem to be the same as all other solicitors, as soon as they have your business they stop making an effort and you have to chase them yourself.
Had not heard back as to whether the lender has responded, or given an answer on a simple lease question. My emails were ignored and I had to call for an update after being left in the dark.
I then requested if I could be sent a weekly update on my file. I was told I can email for an update but they will not send me one off their own back.
I don't think requesting 1 minute of a solicitors/conveyancers time is that much of an ask? But apparently it is.
I guess i'll be setting my own calendar reminder then to chase them. What a silly solution. Very confused by this kind of client service.
