My daughter have emergency healthâŠ
My daughter have emergency health partner unauthorized change my daughter provider & randomly choose stranger. I call health partner Tanika answer the phone and not listen what i need. I give all info to her but she said need doctor name, its clinic with all different doctor change evrytime i go there so i give her npi number for the clinic, but she said she can not do anything for me. I want to talk with someone else she put me hold.
Perspective from a mental health professional
So I am writing this review not as a patient of Health Partners but as ab employee of a mental health clinic who has to deal with Health Partners.
I sincerely hope you never need your records sent anywhere because it won't happen. HP uses a company called MRO to field record requests and they are abysmal. It takes a minimum of 4 weeks to even hear anything, half the time they have some nonsense "issue" that would be best solved by just READING THE ROI. And if you want to CALL this records department? Forget it. After sitting through multiple phone trees that all ask the same questions, you will be on hold so long that you time out of the line. I can count on half a hand the number of times I have actually been able to speak to anyone in records here. I have been hung up on about the same number of times as I've been able to speak to anyone.
HealthPartnerâs will bill you for unnecessary work.
I have/had been going to Park Nicolette (they are owned by HealthPartners) since 1984?
I now live in another country. I went there just to have my hearing aids fixed under warranty and they decided to do a hearing test on me? I said why? Iâm just here to have my hearing aids fixed under warranty and they told me they had to and it took about 5 minutes, then they fixed my hearing aids under warranty and then/now are billing me for the hearing test I did not want, need or have a dr order and they have sent it to collections.
I told them over and over I did not want or need the hearing test and I was no longer their client, but they did not care and still billing me.
Very poor customer service and billing errors
Very poor customer service. Billing errors with no accountability.
My wife had her eyes swollen
My wife had her eyes swollen. We reached urgent care around 10 mins before closing and the attendant said they stop taking people at 7:40. Not sure what urgent care means for them and why they have 8pm on their website.
Not happy.
Since I cannot review virtuwell.com andâŠ
Since I cannot review virtuwell.com and health partners owns them, I will review HealthPartners multiple times with bad reviews. This crappy virtuwell.com website that says they can diagnose you for minor things canât even prescribe you something for a swollen fingernail that is infected. I kid you not. I sent in 4 pictures of an infected finger from a fingernail hangnail. Pretty simple stuff and every time I send anything in and it doesnât matter what; they have to refer you to the doctor. Whatâs the point of even having the website then? Just utterly worthless
I looked up the name of their physician that does these online consultations, Justine G****** She has a superlative 2.3 star review rating at her home office. No surprise there.
The prior authorization process isâŠ
The prior authorization process is hopelessly inept. We provided the data they requested in the form of progress notes and reports. Since the physician's cover letter didn't specifically mention those records, the claim was denied. They didn't even bother to read the data they insisted that we send. Over and over again working with them is a nightmare.
Negligent??
My husband has been in the hospital for about 2 1/2 weeks now 3 hours from home after having surgery. He will be bed ridden for about 6 weeks. He was denied aftercare treatment to go to a nursing/rehab facility, instead he was told to go home and get a home health nurse 3X per week. He needs a hospital bed with a specialty mattress that requires a prior auth which can take up to 14 days. The pre auth wait is outrageous, considering most take 24-72 hours. It would be cost effective to approve the bed ($855.00 per MONTH), it's definitely costing more than that for 1 night at the hospital. This could be why insurance rates keep going up, but the coverage is getting worse.
Bad Billing and Customer Service
Just got a letter saying they were canceling my insurance due to non-payment. According to my bank all checks have been cashed with images of cashed checks on-line. Called and talked to a service rep. Very unresponsive. He said he'd check and see what happened, and would call me back in a couple days!
Terrible On-line Experience
This review is solely about my experience with HealthPartners on-line or by phone. While, in general, my experience at HealthPartners clinics and hospitals (Park Nicollet and Methodist) has been excellent, trying to get answers to simple questions from one's care team without being physically in one of their facilities is excruciating. In my experience, unless it is about a prescription refill, any other inquiry is nearly impossible unless you choose to set up an actual virtual appointment with a physician. Example: My wife today received pneumonia vaccine which had been recommended by her physician because it is the latest one and she hadn't had one in quite a while. I had a different pneumonia vaccine about four years ago so was interested to know if I should be getting an update. So, I thought I would see if I could message my care team to ask about this. But can this be done through the HealthPartners website? To do so, you must set up an "e-visit" which can require a payment of up to $164. I'd be OK with the payment if their website actually made it possible to ask my simple question, instead of wasting my precious time sending me down rabbit holes without ultimately getting an answer. To get my question asked required me to go through various screens, one stop of which assumed my question related to prescriptions but it was not and was impossible to move on without making a selection. At this point I simply gave up. Then I tried calling HealthPartners general information line for help. Of course, after listening to multiple messages and making various selections on their automated system, I ultimately was put in queue because of the usual "unusually high call volume." After about 15 minutes I simply gave up and decided I was willing to accept the risk of not getting the latest vaccine that might benefit me. I can't recall another such experience that did not end in frustration.
Complete wastes of time and money
Complete wastes of time and money. You are better off without insurance. The absolute worst. If you have a choice do not buy health insurance from these scammers. Don't use there clinics. If people stop using them they will change or go under. I'd prefer to see them go under personally.
Be very very very wary if you have toâŠ
Be very very very wary if you have to contact them or they contact you, their âmedical nursesâ or âmedical professionalsâ are sarcastic, condescending, rude and do not let you speak much or let you answer their questions, they twist what youâre saying and make it to their own version. When youâre still trying to talk, they state the allocated time is over. The calls are not recorded so you may want to record the conversation for proof, as again, their âmedical nurses or medical professionalâ are sarcastic and really really condescending!!
I was dropped by HP from my MedicareâŠ
I was dropped by HP from my Medicare Advantage plan retroactive to Feb 2023 with no written advance notice.
Never had a call or written e-mail/letter from person who dropped me. Made all my monthly premiums and had proof of Medicare coverage which they choose not to believe. Called my congressman, Medicare and Social Security and all have been helpful, but when asked why Health Partners didn't assist me I said I tried for a long time and was never able to talk with decision makes only the customer service people who tried to assist but to no avail.
Update.....I was contacted by Health Partners and we sorted out what was the source of the issue. I was reinstated pending social security updating CMS that I had coverage the entire time. Hopefully this works out.
Elderly patient denied pain management
I am a long-term patient at Health Partners. I am now 68 years old and developed a very painful spinal condition that was verified at their clinic by Radiology. My long-term doctor told me to take over the counter pain meds. My pain level was a 10. I have not been able to move from my chair and need to roll out of bed. I cannot stand the pain. Quality of life does not matter. I cannot get in to see a specialist for 6 more weeks. I do not know what I can do. This is the Brooklyn Center Clinic They just do not care.
I also had a significant problem with their CPAP clinic. Their machine malfunctioned and I got a 2nd degree burn from the machine. I had to go to Urgent Care on that too. I received a bill within days for the copay for Urgent Care. Did they even care that others were in danger.? I also contacted the FDA and they don't seem to care either. I guess malfunctioning CPAP machines are acceptable Just the cost of doing business. I have picture and serial number of the machine and such. But of course, everything is swept under the rug. The elderly do not matter. But, I sure had to pay the bill when I was injured by their machine. Enjoy your youth, It is hard to face the fact that you do not matter when you are old.
35 minutes on hold while just trying toâŠ
35 minutes on hold while just trying to verify if my insurance plan covers the Shingles shot. My doctor recommended calling the number 651-265-1034 for the HealthPartners Clinic, so, I did. After 15 minutes someone picked up and said HealthPartners, please hold, after waiting another 20 minutes I was just disconnected and hung up on.
This isn't the first time something like has happened, if you actually have to call them for anything you can expect terrible customer service and essentially no one there to help you over the phone.
The doctors and nurses seem to fine and helpful when you are there for your appointments, but you can tell they are trying to rack up the billable hours by trying to get you to come back for additional tests that you don't need. My son had a small fracture in his finger that the we had to go back for twice as recommended by the doctor, what a waste of money for the doctors appointment and xray, when we come to find out they can't do anything for it anyways, you can't put it in a cast, it just has to heal on its own.
The quality of healthcare and customer service is definitely not so good these days, and HealthPartners is no exception.
Would have given 0 stars but not anâŠ
Would have given 0 stars but not an option! Didn't choose healthpartners but husband's company switched providers. I am a type 2 diabetic and finally on a medication that works..this new insurance won't cover the med unless my medical provider let's them know I was on other meds prior to my current one. I already had to pay $400 out of pocket and unless they hear from my provider they won't cover it at all. And trying to get a provider to respond and provide the insurance company with what they need is like pulling teeth!
Why try to change a med a person has been using successfully for 6 months? And why are people with NO medical background telling people what they can and cannot take for medications?? Absolutely horrible insurance!! DO NOT USE THEM!!! You'd be better off going to a veterinarian!
THINK TWICE INSURING YOURSELF WITH THESE HEALTHPARTNERS.
GET IT FROM ME, DONT INSURE YOURSELF WITH THIS HEALTHPARTNERS THEY ARE A COMPLETE FAILURE, HAD THEM FOR DENTAL WENT TO A DENTIST AND WAS SURGERY WAS DONE WHICH COSTED 5000 DOLLARS AND HOW MUCH DID I GET FROM THIS INSURANCE A MERE 400 THEREBY ASKING MYSELF WHY DO I NEED THEM? DONT INSURE YOURSELF WITH THESE PEOPLE YOU WIIL REGRET IT IF NOT FRUSTRATED WITH THEM TRUST ME
CHRONIC VEINOUS INSUFFIENCY DUE TO PE CLOTS
Seven years ago I had pulmonary embolisms which started in my legs and went to my lungs. Since this I have been dealing with DVT in my lower legs. I have CVI (Chronic Veinous Insufficiency) and been to the Doctor several times due to the fact there is severe leg pain at night and the discoloration of my legs (almost black now after 7 years) from the tips of my toes to the middle of the calf of leg just to name a few of the issues only to have my primary doctor tell me there is nothing wrong with my legs. He then proceeds to tell me that I am obese (I maybe just a tad over weight nothing I consider to be a major factor or the main cause for what I have going on) instead of maybe saying you are a bit overweight or something a bit more professional. Now I have 57 percent feeling in both of my feet and not expected to improve without some kind of treatment. The Doctor proceeds to tell me that I can go to a Vein Doctor but again there is nothing wrong with my legs. The Vein Doctor does a ultrasound and says if it is not something he can help me with or treat he would steer me in the right direction. I get a call from his nurse and she says there is nothing showing on the ultrasound and that is it. Nothing from the Dr. who was willing to steer me in the direction. So all in all my confidence in Health Partners is zero and none.
Was billed over $500 from what wasâŠ
Was billed over $500 from what was expected to be a simple appt. The provider added extra labs without any explanation and repeated information only to say no, that wouldn't work for you. Well then why waste 20 minutes going over it, not once but twice? The provider was clearly just trying to extend the visit so they could bill at a higher/more expensive rate. The worst part is that they messed up and didn't order all the labs I needed based on the form I brought in so I had to go back and pay even more for the 2nd round of labwork. The provider never really seemed to have any empathy for my condition and basically just lectured the entire visit instead of listening to me. And I'm stuck with a huge unexpected bill with no recourse to fight it because the provider's word is taken over all else. I'm now unable to trust any provider I see going forward that I won't get stuck with a huge bill. Definitely never going back here for any routine care and not for any recommended tests as I don't trust they'll help get insurance to cover it like it should be. I don't even trust other providers now.
Health Partners FSA
Another experience of them locking up my FSA because they wanted a copy of a bill for an office visit charge for $35. Same doctors office I've had for 10 years. Never had these problems with my previous insurance. What's really crazy is they provide health insurance for the same medical facility and clinic that the $35 charge came from. I'm going back to getting printed copies of everything. I dont have the bandwidth for this kind of problem.
