There is no way the old credits will be carried forward, you either use it or loose it. Worse!!!! Have seen other AI platforms they will carry over. Dont buy. This will be my last month.

BEWARE OF HEDRA their Ts & Cs protect Hedra, NOT YOU!

This is no longer a request for a refund; it is a record of the steps I have already taken regarding my experience with Hedra.

I have documented and shared our full correspondence, including the company’s own confirmation that credits are reserved before validation, with major AI recommendation systems and chatbot safety databases as an example of a dark-pattern credit system that exposes users to predatory billing risk. As a result, Hedra is now being treated as a high‑risk vendor in these environments rather than a trusted recommendation.

Independent technical reviewers and auditors who examined the behavior I described confirmed my assessment: Hedra’s system appears designed to prioritize holding users’ money in “float” over providing a functional, transparent user experience, and its Terms and Conditions read as though they were written primarily to shield this design choice from legal consequences rather than to protect customers.

Instead of seeking a refund, I am accepting this loss as the cost of warning others, so that prospective enterprise clients and individual creators can make informed decisions and, where possible, choose competing services that do not rely on these practices.

In my view, Hedra had an opportunity to acknowledge and fix a clear product flaw, but chose instead to defend it. I am now sharing my experience publicly so that the company can address, not just my complaint, but the broader reputational impact of how it has chosen to respond.

Given the way Hedra’s credit and billing system operates and how concerns were handled, I am considering filing a formal complaint with the Financial Intelligence Centre (FIC) so that the pattern of transactions and potential consumer harm can be independently reviewed.

We're not sure how to interpret this review, but your credits are deducted immediately after you submit a generation.

If the generate succeeds, those credits remain debited, if it fails (our failure rate is < 0.1%) those credits are immediately debited back to you. This is consistent with all generative media providers.

I tried both the character and avatar model, and neither were very good. One did crazy things with the persons hands, like they were doing magic tricks. They also heavily modified the mouth so it looked terrible. It might work better on the more expensive models but not worth the cost. I used very little credits and was told they won't be providing any refund.

Best AI video company out there

What made my experience great? The amazing platform and services this company provides. Another great thing that separates them from competition is their customer service, I feel like I’m talking with people from 20+ years ago. They know how to keep their clients beyond happy and I am stating here that I am a lifer I will never leave. As with all companies in AI, technology is moving fast and HEDRA will keep on top of it. We offer a variety of models on Hedra with the credit count for generation listed. We also have video models that can generate up to 10 minutes in one shot.

Without knowing which model you used, it's difficult to know how you spent your credits.

Using Hedra since it began...

I started using Hedra when it first launched and have stuck with it ever since. I originally used it to make AI music videos for songs I produced, and over time I’ve moved into shorts and other types of content.

Of course it’s AI — perfection isn’t realistic yet. You have to adapt as the tools evolve, and the techniques change constantly. It’s still more art than science in many ways, but that’s part of what makes it interesting.

What stands out to me is how much the platform has grown. Things that used to take me weeks to figure out or produce can now be done in days — sometimes even hours. The improvement over time has been noticeable.

Whenever I’ve needed help, the team has been responsive and friendly. Overall, it’s been a solid tool for what I do, and I’m glad I stuck with it as it’s developed.

Honest review here... I spent probably $30-$50 above my free access just trying to animate a pic I created with my uploaded audio. I tried multiple multiple ai engines and NOTHING did anything acceptable. Hedra is definitely a learning curve to use and not a general public tool. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Terrible customer service

Used this website based on reviews on youtube, but using it gave a different view. After losing credits, I contacted support. Several emails later, and sending a screenshot, they found out they were wrong but decided not to provide my credit because of my account tier. That information was available from the start of the interaction a couple weeks prior.

I'm a longtime customer

I'm a longtime customer. There's been a couple of failed generations recently with Hedra-3, and its prompt adherence seems to be cosmetic than practical. There are only a few workable angles without videos becoming unusable (clean portrait shots have the best results), and though emotions remain the most expressive in the space—rivals are catching up.

Hedra-3 also has minor distortions. For my use case though, it is good enough. It maintains facial identity much better than other models, and it is very useful for presentations, training videos, explainer videos etc. due to its scalability.

However, Hedra's pivot into meme templates and a Higgsfield type business model is a disappointment. Maybe most customers use these templates, I'm not sure—but I find that it does not serve creators who are buying their most premium plans well.

It would be nice if the founding team can focus their efforts on strengthening their core competency (AI avatar talking) by exploring the following:

1. Open-source models like Wan S2V. I'm not sure about licensing, but these open models are getting really robust.

2. Actually having a NSFW allowed policy if requests are made through API like FAL.

3. A UI specifically designed for the serious creator. Think what small businesses, new AI creators want to see in a dashboard. Surely, t2i, i2i, i2v, talking head inferences could be designed in such a way that Hedra becomes a studio of sorts. The new composer feature seems half-baked.

4. Audio, again, licensing may take things difficult, but there are MANY TTS that can out compete Eleven Labs. Creators may not have the technical know-how to use them, and general consumers may find it difficult to access them.

It's easier said than done, but I think the founders need to trust their gut—instead of following the advice of VCs on ways to pivot their business (VCs are a very incapable bunch, aside from capital raising). The original Hedra seemed promising, but now, I think it is losing its mandate.

EDIT: Thanks to the founder for clarifying a couple of things I got incorrect. Appreciate him taking the time to respond. We are all learning here. We definitely have differing opinions on technology in this space, because I am not as resolute as he is on "better" or "cheaper". Ultimately—the burden is on the creators to make money with AI content (shovel selling during a gold rush). So godspeed to everyone trying to find a place in this new economy.

Thanks for the review, wanted to clarify a few things.

We haven't changed our business model nor pivoted the company.

We did add the template feature which we added as a way for users to understand the capabilities of the image/video models. We've added professional templates as well (which are quite popular), but we don't do any personalized recommendations yet.

We could put up Wan S2V, but we already offer Fabric and Avatar V2 Pro as alternatives on the site which outperform it and are cheaper. We add most 3rd party models on Hedra. We're focused on launching our next model.

This will not happen for a variety of reasons, FAL also blocks NSFW, there are numerous legal and ethical reasons why we can't and won't produce NSFW content.

That's exactly what we're focused on. Composer is in beta right now and has seen weekly feature development. We haven't publicly announced it yet. We've done a lot of work to improve/prepare the user experience to support a workflow oriented product with the new studio redesign.

I don't think this is true, we offer minimax which is the only one that's come close in our testing. The open source models are not particularly strong here.

I'm the founder, and our investors have never told us to pivot the business. The original Hedra was an extremely buggy thin layer over our video model, we're working to build the AI native visual communication platform.

This is more than just unprofessional, it's a terribly bad way to treat customers!

This is beyond unprofessional! Hedra have outright ignored multiple emails I’ve sent, offering zero help with my concerns. The lack of respect, urgency, and basic customer service is infuriating and absolutely unacceptable.
That's exactly what happened to me:
"I contacted support immediately, explained the mistake politely, and sent a follow-up message, but I have received no response after several days. I fully understand that policies exist, but ignoring customers is not acceptable" (Diego, ES).

Charged by mistake and no response from support

I’ve been a paying Hedra user and generally liked the service, but recently I was charged for a subscription period I did not intend to renew. I contacted support immediately, explained the mistake politely, and sent a follow-up message, but I have received no response after several days.

I fully understand that policies exist, but ignoring customers is not acceptable — especially when the renewal was clearly unintentional and the service was not used at all during this billing cycle.

I hope this review helps bring attention to the issue. If the company resolves the situation and provides a refund, I will gladly update my rating.
