This was not a happy experience from the first contact with Helm and I had the feeling they were only interested in Superyacht hire. Toby, our contact, who left the company half way through the process (and that may explain a lot!) did not listen, did not get back to us when requested and finally recommended a yacht in Dubrovnik called Barabara 1. This was sublet through Sailor Expert, a company in Marina Frappa in Dubrovnik. The yacht was dirty and smelly, the bow thrusters were broken, the hydraulic swim platform was broken, the autohelm was broken, the bilge pump was broken. Sinks blocked. Lights not working, even the kettle was broken. Add to that, no paperwork had got to Sailor Expert from Helm so our arrival was very frustrating. I would not recommend Helm.yt. Friends hired 3 catamarans through Helm and had equally frustrating experiences.

Planning a sailing adventure while considering the wishes and needs of 6 women is no small feat! There are so many important decisions to make to ensure that it is a successful trip. There is no doubt in our minds that we could have had the trip of a lifetime without Libby Megson’s expertise and thoughtfulness. HELM’s Senior Charter Broker. She answered all of our many questions in a timely fashion. Her knowledge of the various Catamarans and Crews were vast and she led us to the Aquanimity and Nikita and Gino. The perfect boat with the perfect crew who went above and beyond. Our gratitude to each of them along with Victoria Soloniuk who worked with us on our preferences- which were met and then some. Such a great experience. I was impressed with Kay and her follow up from beginning to end. She even checked in with me the day of departure to make sure I was doing ok. I would recommend using Kay West with The Helm for all your booking needs.
Navigare Charter was who we had our catamaran through in the BVI. The captain & Chef were worth every penny! They had times where they hung out with us & even went to shore on occasion. Everything was set up for us so we didn't need to worry about anything. It couldn't have been any better.

Maddy at Helm.yt helped me pick a boat with great features for our early-season trip to Croatia. I really appreciated their help with the process, answering my questions about locations, prices, and what to expect on board. The skipper was also amazing, and he was able to get us into restaurants that were closed, and attractions without lines. I'll definitely check out Helm again next time I am planning a big vacation.

As a first time charter shopper, Maddy at Helm anticipated a number of questions I had, and was quick to get back to me whenever I heaved a query her way. She was fantastic, patient, knowledgeable and efficient.

Ed at Helm did a sterling job in narrowing down the boat options and, without any pressure, enabled me to chose the right boat for our charter in Mallorca in 2024 and has recently done the same again for a repeat trip in 2025 this time in a different boat design. Already planning the itinerary and also building plans for 2026.

Had a wonderful experience again for a third time using Helm! Fleur did a wonderful job guiding us through the process and presenting us various bareboats to meet our needs. At one point we had decided to cancel our trip to the Granadines and rebooked us to the Bahamas. She was very understanding and helpful in getting us rebooked. Enjoyed working with her and looking forward to our next trip!

We retained HELM to charter a sailboat for us in Greece. Never having sailed other than in the New England region we were glad to have HELM’s guidance. The boat they helped us charter was in superb condition and the charter company very accomodating making for an excellent week on the water. Every question we had was answered promptly and fully by HELM. We highly recommend their service.

Six couples recently chartered the White Pearl for a Greek Island trip. We worked with Victoria & Maddy on all the plans for the charter; our route and itinerary, the provisioning and they scheduled a pre trip meeting with the Captain to ensure everything was in place. They both were great and handled all of our planning details to make sure that we were set up for a great trip, which it was. The boat, the Captain Thanasis and his crew were fantastic. I am pleased to report that our entire group totally loved our experience on the boat and it far exceeded our expectations.
Since chartering a boat was an entirely new experience for me, I credit the Helm team of Ed and Victoria for guiding us through the entire process of selecting the right boat, what to expect during the charter, and coordinating what we needed during the charter.

Our crew on board the Alena could not have done more to make the trip enjoyable. Svetlin did a masterful job selecting the best Greek islands to visit and helping with any details needed while visiting the islands. Eating meals on the boat was like dining at a five star restaurant at every meal. Of course, Ody fixed our drinks to perfection and did whatever else we needed.

The trip exceeded our expectations in every way.

Really great experience with Helm, highly recommended. Fleur was a delight to liaise with and she found us a really superb yacht charter company with a virtually brand new boat. They were professional and flexible with the date changes we made. The quality of the boat made it a carefree experience for the whole two weeks. Croatia is a special sailing ground.

Efficient and good communication

Fluer at Helm was fantastic in helping and advising on our recent motor boat charter in Croatia. I can recommend Helm and will use them in future.

We had the most amazing time sailing around the Croatian Islands with the help of Helm. They were instramental in booking the perfect yacht to fit our needs. Everything went incredibly smoothly from start to finish. This was our first time experiencing this type of trip and it could not have been better. It's going to be difficult to travel any other way after this truly amazing experience.

My family and I (8 people) are sea lovers and, having previously been on catamaran charters around Italy, decided to sail across (some) Greek Islands this year.

My broker, Fleur, was very friendly and available - helping me patiently plan the holiday by choosing the catamaran and archipelago for our dream holiday. Captain Vassiliki and her crew, Toni and Tisho, truly made this experience memorable. They were extremely welcoming and accommodating, with great flexibility regarding food/drinks options as well as designing an itinerary to navigate in-between the islands.
We bonded with them immediately, so much so that we regret booking the charter for only 1 week. By the end of this experience, we had already organised for our next charter for the following summer and are ecstatic to see this amazing crew again!!

First time using Helm. We had a great experience, everything was seamless. We were kept up-to-date along the booking process and in the run-up to the charter they provided useful information on the charter location. Will definitely be booking with them again.

This was our first charter. Our Helm charter broker (Siobhan) was knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. From the beginning, she guided us through the process and helped manage all the details. The boat was exactly as was presented and we definitely appreciated the upgrades compared with other boats we saw in Greece.

The captain and hostess were great. The captain knew the boat extremely well, having sailed it for many years for the owners and as the charter captain. The hostess was well prepared, having reviewed our preference list closely. She prepared excellent meals and was thoughtful and attentive.

Maddy and the crew of Andiamo provided a best in class vacation experience for my group of 8 people. She answered all my detailed questions, was super knowledgeable to provide location and fleet advice and made this charter a huge success. Captain and chef were incredible and also served as local guides / concierge service. Will be back for more in the future!

It has been a great experience planning and booking our yacht holiday with Helm. We spent the first week of September sailing on a monohull across the Ionian Sea.
During the planning phase the team at Helm was very focused on understanding our preferences and provided good advice and options for choosing the yacht and the area, under consideration of time of year, group size and budget.
It was a very personalized service where all questions got answered and the team was committed in finding the right solution.
Admin was handled in a very easy way and everything turned out as planned and budgeted. The communication between Helm and the charter company on the ground was seamless.
Will choose them again.
