Just passed my level 3 personal trainer course and it was amazing great communication really easy to get in touch with my tutor.
Really big thanks to Sarah cole my tutor for helping me along the way couldn’t ask for any more. Amazing course set up aswell really simple to understand.

I have gained many fitness related qualifications and this one was not delivered well at all.

Firstly, the communication was minimal. I booked on this course 12 months in advance. I received one call at the time of booking and then the next call I received was just one week before the start of the course. 12 months with zero communication.

It is really hard to get in touch with HFE - there is only the generic form on the website (which I don't seem to get a response from) or a telephone number that you can use Monday to Friday 9-5. For people that work, it makes it extremely difficult to call. There is no email address provided.

In my welcome letter there was one email address provided but it was written incorrectly as the email bounced back.

There are videos provided for the online learning which are questionable. First of all, one of the ladies providing the training makes comments about her male bosses body - how lovely his V is and how she just wants to grab it. Yuck. I'm not sure who ever okayed these videos to go out nationally? If it was a male talking about a female that way, there would be a huge problem.

The videos also talk about somatotypes which have been proven time and time again, in the literature, that they hold no bearing and are irrelevant. The lady on the video also uses the word 'lovely' when referring to a mesomorph (the one with more muscle), but doesn't use any such language when talking about the other somatotypes which is further pushing the narrative that people are only worthy when they look a certain way. This is a narrative that the health and fitness industry should be moving away form, not moving towards.

There is lots of incorrect nutritional information provided as well. For example, the module states that replacing sugary drinks with sugar free drinks would not reduce the obesogenic environment when actually, there are many systematic reviews and meta analysis' that prove otherwise. You only need to do a simple PubMed search to find this out. (This is just one example, there are many more).

If this is the kind of information being given out on a Level 2 course, I would be worried about the higher level courses.

There is also a lack of consistency between the language used in the books provided and the language used in the videos. This means you are constantly flipping between books, trying to understand which pages are relating to what they are talking about.

When it came to the physical in person learning. We were provided with no details other than the time and name of the centre. There was no phone number to call incase we couldn't find the venue on the day. No details of parking provided. No details on if we should bring lunch or not.

When we asked for a timetable of our exam day so we could let our participants know when to turn up (many of the course attendees lived over a 1hr drive away), I was told verbatim on the phone "You're all adults, you can sort it yourself". If we hadn't created a WhatsApp group of our own back, there would have been no way to contact each other before the exam day and sort out the exam schedule.

It really has been a poor experience. I have gained a range of qualification from Level 2 to Level 5 from various providers and this by far has been a let down. I personally wouldn't use HFE again. Especially when there is such a huge range of providers out there.

HFE are a great company to get your Pilates qualifications through, I did mat and reformer and all of the tutors I had were amazing and they are always on hand to help if you have any questions

Just completed my level 3 personal training course, amazing experience and learnt alot.

Highly recommend for anyone wanting to get into the fitness industry.

From start to finish, this course was very informative. The support I received form my tutors, has been absolutely amazing 5 star. The communication has been very good and whenever i needed help it was there for me. I would recommend this course to anyone that's thinking of embarking on a level 3 Pilates and reformer training.

I recently completed my Level 3 Pilates Practitioner course with HFE, and the entire experience has been exceptional from start to finish. From my very first phone call with Arron, who clearly explained the course structure and helped me feel confident about enrolling, I knew I’d chosen the right provider.

Throughout my studies, my support tutor Dani was fantastic—always available when I needed guidance, encouragement, or clarification. Her support made a huge difference and kept me moving forward whenever I felt unsure.

The practical workshops were a real highlight. Karen, Zoe and Clare were wonderful tutors—knowledgeable, passionate, and incredibly supportive. Their expertise in Pilates shone through in every session, and they created a learning environment that was both professional and warm. When nerves kicked in, they were quick with reassurance and constructive guidance, helping us all grow in confidence and skill.

I’m genuinely grateful for the experience and would highly recommend HFE to anyone considering training in Pilates. They truly care about their learners and set you up for success.

Really great course. Nice use of blended learning

LEVEL 3 & REFORMER PILATES***
I did the 2 qualification package for level 3 and reformer, I am glad used HFE I like that you have to do your level 3 in order to do reformer, i believe every instructor should know the level 3 mat fundamentals of teaching pilates and have the knowledge the comes with it.

My only dislike was the use of the ADOBE for filling out the online worksheets. It wasn't very user friendly.

But the videos the work books within thw package as I did mine online (level3mat) were very good everything you needed was at your finger tips with someone on hand to answer the phone if and when you needed support.

Karen's knowledge was amazing I was lucky to have her step in for our weekend online course...
Massive thank you to Dawn who was my course tutor and also run our weekend courses... she was amazing her personality really kept the course fun whilst learning soooo much... she literally had me in stitches at some points over both weekends. I would highly recommend HFE.

A great course, I felt all aspects were covered effectively and I learned everything I hoped I would and more. This course has really given me confidence to teach

Fantastic course! I enjoyed learning all things pre and post natal. My tutor Sarah was very helpful!

I did the Level 2 Gym Instructor course which was very thorough covering so much content. The support from my tutor (Eleana Stafford) was exemplary. She helped me navigate the content and the tricky business of uploading my final assessment.

I got my certificate today! Couldn't be more pleased!

Really enjoyed my training with HFE, it’s been a tough and rewarding challenge to get my lvl 3 PT , Eleana has been very helpful throughout , highly recommend these guys !

Completed my level 3 PT online and level 2 Gym Instructor with HFE. Great quality resources and support. Excellent turnaround time on assignments (usually within 24 hours!!). Very customer focused and helpful. A huge thanks to Eleana my tutor - fantastic support and encouraging throughout! Highly recommend HFE.

Done my gym instructor level 2 with HFE and can honestly say I made the best decision choosing them from all the others online.
Elena was my tutor and was always so helpful and always took my calls sometimes 3 consecutive days in a row🙈 made it so much easier to get through when you have right support.
Great feedback from the assessors too. Thank you again I’m now looking at doing the Aqua Instructor course with HFE!

I’ve just recently passed my level 3 mat Pilates, The course itself was extremely thorough so I feel extremely pleased and proud to have passed! I couldn’t have done it without the support of my Tutor Danielle who was always on hand to help with great knowledge and encouragement. This is my 3rd course with Danielle and I was happy to have her as my tutor for all 3 courses!

The practical course was lead by Tracy with assistance of Heidi & Jodie and again Tracy made the practical fun but informative and challenging and clearly also along with Danielle, Heidi and Josie have a wealth in knowledge!
