HOFF offers a wide range of knowledge and expertise within the design process of a ship. We ensure that the owner’s or architects vision gets translated into a General Arrangement Plan, 3D (architect) model or design renderings to experience the look and feel of the ship. Multidisciplinary integration of the different disciplines ensures that the ship fulfils the clients expectations, not only on look and feel, but also on technical level. HOFF offers a wide range of expertise in basic engineering. Our knowledge includes all basic facets of engineering a ship; structural, mechanical, interior and (exterior) outfit. Our specialty is to ensure a proper integration of all of the above mentioned (and other) disciplines into one. Here we can relieve you from the beginning until the end, in which we can also take over coordination with suppliers or subcontractors. Examples are doors, hatches, cranes or pools. To be able to purchases these as a turn-key component it is important that a clear procurement package is created. HOFF not only offers to deliver a specification and drawing for purchasing the component, but also offers support during the procurement process by technically reviewing the quotation(s) from the suppliers. After the order has been settled HOFF can also can lead the technical coordination of the supplier by integration, review and approval of the supplier’s documents and ensure that this is integrated in the ship. During this process it is important to focus on manufacturability and availability, but also sustainability is of huge importance. HOFF offers her services on detail engineering in which these aspects take central stage. HOFF’s detail engineering does not only focus on creating workshop drawings and models, but also includes the creation of the BOM (Bill Of Material), so that the component is ready for procurement. We verify the design by making different drawings and calculations and prepare the concept design for project initiation by creating the design definition package for a yard, in which we among others also write the building specification. Besides that we also handle the coordination with the class and flagstate society to ensure a flawless start of the project. HOFF can support by taking a coordinating role within a project, to ensure that the involved stakeholders will all work together by following a structured plan. With projects becoming more complex and demanding, more involved stakeholders and ever increasing requirements the need for a clear overview is higher than ever. We monitor or create the planning, progress reports, budget monitoring and completeness of the project.
