I love the opportunity to support and invest in local companies whose goals and mission align with my own. Honeycomb does an amazing job making the process of creating, growing, and maintaining your own personal passion portfolio while helping worthy entrepreneurs achieve their own goals. I am coming up on 2 years of experience with multiple Honeycomb campaigns and am pleased with all aspects of this service.

Honeycomb is a pretty good opportunity for businesses to get funding.
As primarily an investor you get first lien position on the company's assets in the event of default.
They have a liquidator available in these instances.
Since your dealing with businesses, income tends to be based on sales which can be sporadic unless their a subscription type company.
My only gripe would be that honeycomb collects monthly payments, yet distributes the payout quarterly.
I think is the one area that could use some work and be transitioned over to monthly payouts.

As for the companies being in default, nothing yet.
A few people have requested extensions, which of course was granted, I do believe that penalty interest should apply, the only two choice that we are given is extend or liquidate.
However I have been contact with Honeycomb and was informed that they intend to introduce penalties.

I recently established a profile on Honeycomb credit. I am a proud small business owner and I am super excited to receive help and work with others within this great network. We are a minority owned/operated childcare center and when the time is right we look forward to help other start-ups pursue their dreams!

My experience with HoneyComb was nothing less than perfect. I was skeptical at first thinking who is going to invest in my brand . Between the initial person handling my campaign, John to Steph who walked me through the whole process from beginning to end, I felt more secure & she gave me so much support!! I didn’t think I’d even get to the minimum & when I didn’t the campaign was extended & I got a little bit more over, from people I know & a lot I didn’t know. I’d definitely do it again!

Under a "vote", all debt can be cancelled for a particular funding. I got less than 2% of principal paid and that's all I'll from that raise. Makes no logical sense and I'll never invest a dime with them again knowing they can pull this lever.

John and Amber at Honeycomb were wonderful to work with. In our initial meeting with John, he explained everything involved with the application and investment process. The application portion was seamless with everything uploaded digitally. Amber, our main contact person from that point on, was fantastic to work with. She answered our questions promptly and was available when we needed her. This is a great way to fund an existing food business to expand or purchase new equipment. You’ll need to have a solid support system of friends/family and customers as well as social media presence to jump start investors. Honeycomb also helps by reaching out to their investors with newsletters. It’s also been a great way to grow our customer base during our campaign.

Honeycomb has become an unique part of my investment portfolio. The ability to invest in local businesses and make a tangible impact on the lives of business owners, and more importantly, the local community has been an important investment strategy to me. Small businesses are the foundation of our economy, but it can be challenging to get one off the ground or grow it. I find it exciting to watch them grow post-investment.

The Honeycomb team is dependable, detailed, and transparent with all communication. They thoroughly vet all the companies that they present to investors, and I feel comfortable with their investment options.

I'm thrilled to have found this platform and recommend it to anyone looking to find ways to diversify their portfolio, while also making an impact for small businesses.

The concept behind Honeycomb Credit is incredibly useful for small businesses, it allows retail investors to earn passive income and share in small business investments. It is especially beneficial when investing in a local business. I've been investing for quite some time and have several thousand riding on the company model.
However, it seems HC has outgrown its capabilities and is struggling to update investor Dashboard Profiles with investment data. Even corrections take weeks to be posted.
Investors with thousands of dollars in the game need to keep up with this information to gauge and audit their own investments. I'm hoping this is merely a personnel problem with the IT contractor or their programs and not a more concerning financial/bookkeeping issue.
Finally, payments take several WEEKS past their due date to be posted. I can see how this may not be HC's fault as there are more than 1 possible cause for this lag--from the debtor to the banking system to the software used.
I plan to continue using the site because they are a great business plan for all involved and this may just be a temporary hardship in the early years of the retail investor arena. Fingers crossed! 🤞

*Update 03/2023 With nearly 8 months since my initial review, I've decided to update to reflect the status of my experience in an effort to help others who may be performing their due diligence before investing.
I have stopped all investments with HoneyComb Credit. The new payment system has been integrating for almost 9 months and still has several issues. Deposits made to personal bank accounts do not match the dates listed on the in-house Wallet they have implemented. Deposits still take weeks past the stated dates and some depoists are sent to the Wallet and others to personal bank accounts, creating a headache to keep track of payments. I will require an audit once my investments are repaid to match the chaotic deposits.
The positive: The Wallet feature is a great idea. It's much easier to see the exact investment that made the deposit and the dates match. It's unfortunate that it still hasn't been completely implemented after almost 9 months.
My suggestion to new investors: limit your investments to 1 or 2. This will make things much easier for you to track and allow for faster resolutions when emailing HCC for issues. Having several investments creates a problem when tracking payments as they are sometimes not labeled individually and instead read as anacronym for the LLC or HoneyComb, requiring me to read the repayment contracts for each of my investments to figure out which company had a payment due by the amount.
I had very high hopes for regular cash flow and small business help throughout the country, but there's much that needs to be done before I take HCC for a serious investment plan. Good luck everyone!
