We have used the services of Housesit Match on two occasions with different sitters. We have been very satisfied with the administration and help from Housesit Match. The sitters have been very friendly and caring giving us confidence to travel leaving our cats and home in their care. We are pleased that our sitters have enjoyed staying in our home and exploring the lovely area of France in which we live. Our cats were happy remaining in their home environment and not have the stress of the dreaded pet carriers and the restrictions of a cattery. Our home was very well cared for too. We will happily use Housesit Match again.

Housesitmatch.com is an incredibly reliable site for house sitting. I've had wonderful individuals from distant places like Canada come to care for my cats, all of whom have been thoroughly police checked. We joined in 2024 looking for someone to sit our Barn Conversion for 3 month in 2025 while we travelled. We looked at quite a few sites but found the reviews concerning on some and the lack of support disappointing on others. One we found HouseSit Match we were quietly hopeful. Lamia was absolutely brilliant helping us set up our advert and checking in to make sure we were happy and getting what we needed as 1st timers. Success! We found an amazing couple who actually came and sat the whole period leaving us happy to fly off and enjoy our long awaited holiday. Dave and Sandra came a few days before so we knew we were leaving everything in capable hands and then waited till our (slightly later than planned) return so they could hand the house back in person. Amazing....we will definitely be using again!

As a sitter, I recently answered a posted sit and was on a video call with them the next day. Details and confirmation went extremely smoothly and a standard contract of understanding was signed by both of us immediately thereafter and the sit is confirmed and set. Easy!

As a pet sitter I found it quite easy to get good sitting opportunities. Anytime I had questions about membership etc I received prompt and valuable information. I'm a member of several sitting sites but this site is by far the best especially for professional service.

What attracted me initially to HousesitMatch is that it’s a small business owned by a lovely lady who made me feel very comfortable. We had an initial chat & I applied for a few Housesits, after background checks etc. were completed. We applied for a few sits and were successful in our application to look after a house with a dog and our housesitting journey began.

My husband & I have enjoyed every minute, we have been on many adventures and have really settled in to country life with a dog, who has been an absolute joy and is a real character, we have met lots of new people and explored lots of area and beyond.

As a homeowner, I was initially trepidatious about having virtual strangers in my home to care for my animals, but as many pet owners know, if you want to travel, you need someone to look after your home and pets. I was lucky to have chanced upon HouseSitMatch. Rather than being owned by a corporate conglomerate or hedge-fund, it's privately run and that shows in the contact Lamia has with each person, the care she takes with background checks, her quick responses and excellent guidance. I've now had four couples in my home to look after my animals and each one has been a fantastic fit. They are all genuine animal lovers, curious travelers, respectful homeowners and great communicators. With some, their glowing reviews tell the story, so there's nothing left for me to ask. With others, we start talking about world travels and by the time they arrive, it feels like an old friend has come to stay. I think it comes down to Lamia's personal attention with both pet sitter and homeowner, and the fact that no one is reduced to a number as can happen with huge sites. Here, each "match" is truly a match between homeowners and pet/travel lovers. I'm tremendously happy I found HouseSitMatch and would recommend without hesitation.

We have had some great longterm housesits and are more more successful in being matched on this site. The site itself could do with updating and an app which I believe is coming but its eady to search and make contact

We couldn't have eased into the housesitting world any easier, having been pet owners and worked with the company for many years. The team has been very supportive and caring. Lamia, one of the founders, is truly special and warm. It was a pleasure meeting her after so many years. She is quick to answer and handhold you when needed. We loved our sit, the dog, and the owners were lovely. It went without a hitch, and we look forward to sitting again with housesitMatch. They live up to their name.

I’m quite new to the House Sitting concept having been fortunate in the past to have a handful of different neighbours and friends to ‘cover’ for my cat, HRH! Spontaneous and sometimes longer ‘sits’ require a professional approach and this is where Lamia and HouseSit Match have been really helpful. I’ve recently got back from my first house sit with Housesit Match and I can highly recommend! Me and my partner took our dog, 2yr old and 5month old to a 2 week house sit looking after two small dogs on a large country estate. We even met Lamia (the founder) as she lived nearby and she’s probably one of the nicest people you’ll ever meet. You can really tell that her business means the world to her and she will do everything possible to make the housesitters and homeowners as comfortable as possible. The home owners we were sitting for were also so friendly and hospitable, it really made our stay feel like a holiday for such a tiny fraction of the cost. I think we’ll be house sitting for years to come with HSM!

It has that personal touch because Lamia makes it her business to get to know the sitters and home owners personally. She is able to recommend and answer questions that people might ask to find a suitable match for their needs. I have been a sitter with HouseSit Match since 2018 when I lost my own dog. Having had dogs and all manner of pets all my life, I was really missing the company. A friend of mine spotted an advert and said I should go for it and gave Lamia a reference about me. Having spoken to Lamia, I was encouraged to have a go. I have never looked back. What I really like is the personal touch. Lamia is always on the end of the phone, even evenings and weekends, not like the big companies where you are just a number.

Housesit match is an amazing community of caring and supportive people who can take care of your house and pets in exchange for accommodation.
