Good software hindered by a loss of vision.
At one time Hyland Software had a mission which was to make content management accessible to everyone. It created a pricing model that allowed companies large and small to take advantage of it.
It's a shame, because the OnBase software is the most diverse and usable from a development perspective to create powerful solutions. Although it tends to be difficult to really master it thanks to sprawl.
Recently, internal decisions were made to basically only go after "the whales" - your large hospitals, etc - and you now cannot purchase the software for less than five figures. That's not sustainable. Same thing that tanked FileNet.
