I've been trying to move a pension since November 2021 - they don't respond to emails and if you phone in you invariably go to voicemail, messages left are not returned. I called 8 times today and was cut off the phone 6 times. Impossible to do business with these people - can't wait to get to another provider with some kind of customer service.

My mother had a pension with Kingfisher which is administered by Hymans Robertson. The company was informed that my mother had died and that any residuals from her pension should be notified to the solicitors handling the estate, this was in 2018! Hyman's took so long getting back to the solicitor that the estate was wound up. Fast forward to 2022. I received a letter from Hymans telling me that they were now ready to pay monies owed to the estate
demanded that I send my personal bank details, to take part in some sort of complicated vetting process via web camera's etc which I had to get someone in to walk me through the process it was so complicated.
Hymans then informed me that they could not find records of my bank details, in effect they had lost them.
On the 3 June I wrote a review on here (see below) and followed instructions they gave in reply to the review. I received a reply from a Mr de Silva who said that matters had now been passed for settlement. I gather the sums involved are quite small but due to lack of communication from this awful firm I have never been told the values involved.
Three months down the line I have still heard nothing and was therefore left with no option but to make an application to the Pensions Ombudsman which is now awaiting a case officer.
Please, please, If you have a pension with this awful company or administered by them and you have the chance to switch to a more reliable firm I would strongly suggest that you look to doing this without delay. I would hate to think anyone else would have to go through my experience.
Hymans Robertson defies all description really but I would question whether competence or honesty are word that could be used to describe them
The only saving grace here is that all the other reviews on Trust-pilot are negative, not a single reviewer has been happy with this awful outfit.

We have been trying to obtain information on a clients pension
We have been trying to obtain information on behalf of a client for the last 6 weeks. They don't reply to emails and the phone number just goes to voicemail and nobody calls back. I have tried to also call the main switchboard number but that just cuts off. I will be raising a formal complaint and if no response to that we will go to the Pensions Ombudsman.

No way to get a response from them
This company took over my pension scheme from another company, I asked for my options more than 8 months ago and am still waiting. I retire in one month. They do not answer the phone - just a dedicated answerphone which they do not answer and they do not answer their emails. I would advise that if you can avoid this company then do so.
Update 16th Aug - received a call to say that the calculations were being dealt with - they have taken on extra staff to speak to people who have left messages and have now received the calculations.

Failed to make my 1st July pension payment.
Countless e-mails later no response and as of 27th
July still no money.
Phoned many times but no answer and leaving a message elicits no response, so why bother.
If I ever get a response from this organisation, my first question will be "how do I transfer my pension to a company I can trust".

This firm is truly awful
This firm is truly awful. Never have I come across a firm that takes incompetence to a new dimension as this one does.
I note that the firm replies to reviews by blaming their 'third party' administrator, not good enough, Hyman Robertson appointed the 'third party' and all the correspondence relating to my matter comes from Hyman Robertson.
I shall be writing to the financial services ombudsman and the law society and would strongly urge anyone else having problems with Hyman Robertson, Kingfisher Pension Scheme or whatever 'third party' you have to deal with to do likewise but remember Hyman Robertson is the firm that is responsible for this atrocious service and the appointment of the 'third party'
I would also urge you most strongly against providing this firm with confidential bank details and the like.

Unethical and untrustworthy company
Unethical and untrustworthy company. My almost 70 year old mother has been trying to get her pension payments since November 2021. Apparently they write out 1st class and letters NEVER arrive, they request an up to date email address and they do not email you. They find every excuse not to pay out to elderly, vulnerable citizens that have paid into their scheme throughout their working life. Why do government agencies use these cowboys? Today we have been told that the offer received 1st April 2022 was over stated and we only know that because we phoned today. Despite offer being accepted and all paperwork returned by early May. We only find this out because we phone Hymans Robertson and guess what, a letter was apparently posted to us but the girl could not explain why. Meanwhile my elderly mother is out of pocket? What does overstated mean, who has made an error why is my elderly mother suffering due to incompetencies within a large organisation?

Customer service is shocking, I have never seen anything like it before and especially with it being a big company. No call backs after leaving messages. In my experience when I have spoken to the person in need to. They have been no help what so ever but always say if you need anything just call, what is the point when no answers have been given? My case has been going on since December and we are only just âcoming to the final stageâ this was exactly 4 weeks ago. What a load of rubbish

One start is too much
This company's "customer service" is non-existent. Calls to their "dedicated" phoneline are never answered and voicemails are not responded to. They make no attempt to keep customers informed of what they are doing. As with other reviewers, I have struggled to finalise a transfer of my DB pension and am still waiting for resolution even though they have now exceeded their 6-month statutory deadline. Next stop: Pensions Ombudsman

I asked for a simple e-mail address change on the 11/11 and the customer service has been appalling.Their service time is 5 days to reply and only after contacting them again on the 29/11 did they reply and ask for security details.
Again silence until I e-mailed again on 7/12 to be told by Sarah Williams that it had been done on the 12/11 a day after I first e-mailed them?

I too wish I could leave a no star feedback. In my experience customer service and communication has been extremely poor. Personally I have pensions across 6 pension providers and Hymans have been by far the worst I have dealt with. I did send a complaint via the Hymans portal which was never even acknowledged. If someone from Hymans chose to make contact with me to establish the full detail of the issues I have had then I would be open to sharing them.

From other comments l see they are being generous. Minus 3* would be a more accurate score.
They have created a financial issue for me by mismanagement.
Unless you persist and shout you do not get any response.
They are overfond of the use of voicemail and casually think making people leave messages so matters can be dealt with in Hymans Robertsons time is a customer service. It is not!
Emails are ignored and when and if they are answered the replies are sloppy and inaccurate.
The portal is frankly a pile of pants.
In my dealings only 1 person has shown any nowse. Staff need support and training.
Unfortunately I cannot dispense with their services but I consider they are ripe for a compliance review by the regulatory body

I too wish you could give a nil star rating, Hymans are not very good with dealing with people they seem happy to be unapproachable and detached. Their communication is non existence and they make mistake on mistake and as a customer I have felt strongly they either have poor processes or people who do not care about their customers. I've personally left numerous messages between 9 and 5 their opening hours only one call back and that was a wasted call as they had no answers.
My issue is still outstanding there appears to be a lack of communication within Hymans especially with Payroll, Iâve still not received any emails or money which was due on the 26th May. In your reply you say you are dealing with a large number of queries in my experience most queries arise from mistakes or no communication which I believe says it all about Hymans.

If I could give zero stars then I would. Delay in communication can be forgiven to a certain degree during the pandemic, but there is no phone line available, I am receiving no replies to emails for weeks if not months, and no explanation or guideline as to how long to expect the process to take. It has already been nearly eight months since the passing of my father and I am still awaiting confirmation about financial contribution from his pension. A company dealing with people in extremely challenging times should demonstrate consideration for this, on top of awareness that those left waiting are potentially in financial difficulty. Truly terrible service.
