I have contacted IGNI with concerns about companies that they are recommending. We have had a terrible experience with Berks Insulation Ltd. Upon reading reviews from this company, we are not alone. The reviews include unsafe practices. This is a really easy thing for IGNI to follow up, yet they have responded to my emails with a standard ‘contract the installer’. I am in correspondence with the installer. If IGNI actually looked into this company, they would ascertain that Berks Insulation Ltd customer service is rude and unprofessional. To my knowledge Berks Insulation Ltd are still a recommended installer.
I would advise people to be very cautious about using IGNI. Because the scheme is government funded, it is easy to assume that only reliable contractors would be recommended. This, from my experience, is not the case.

I recently had the pleasure of working with IGNI Limited for a grant, and I am thoroughly impressed with their exceptional service. From the moment I contacted them on Monday, I received my new Worcester Bosch 4000 Plus boiler, loft insulation, and extractor fans for both the bathroom and kitchen by Friday.

A special thank you to Hussain, Terry, and Sarah for their professionalism and efficiency. They truly went above and beyond, completing everything quicker than I expected. IGNI Limited is undoubtedly a reliable and trustworthy company, and I highly recommend them for any grant-related services. Their promises are genuine, and their work is simply outstanding.

IGNI was good at the start

IGNI was great to deal with at the start very pleasant and helpful and the team they sent to carry out the work was very professional and left the house tidy. Overall was very pleased. Now unfortunately the work was only half finished.

The first team doing the loft etc

The first team doing the loft etc, they brilliant &very professional. Nothing was too much especially when they cleared up, I would recommend these guys any day of the week. However the boiler installation team were not as good the following day. They knew I had school run and couldn't be bothered to wait leaving me with there rubbish (now collected) but also not fully explaining all the equipment they had fitted. It was such a shame because until the end of the job they was really good. Loft insulation team get my vote.

Worries laid to rest

I was a bit apprehensive about applying for the Ec04 scheme , im a qualified buyer and didnt have to source the market because IGNI took care of everything.
They were very prompt to get in touch. Called when I requested and i could take the calls.
Tried with a secondary contractor when our first survey/contractor did not secure the funding for us.
I did feel out of control because within a few days of the funding being approved after a second survey, we had loft insulation removed and replaced. Extractor fans fitted in the kitchen and bathroom, and a new combi boiler. I was concerned I hadn't met the fitters before hand and didnt really know what the job would entail but there was no need to worry.
Our home was respected. Shoes removed or covers over shoes worn. A good job of tidying up after themselves.
No less professional considering they were not being paid by us.
I have to name the contractor Wintak who carried out all the work on behalf of IGNI. Only a day with the boiler, but so far so good. Professional workers.
I would recommend IGNI to help you with this scheme of its something your house could benefit from. The whole process start to finish was 2 weeks!

Extremely Poor Service

Extremely Poor Service – Completely Unacceptable

I received a boiler installation through a government grant, and the experience has been nothing but stressful. Just two days after the installation, one of my radiators stopped working. It then took 10 days for an engineer to come out and look at it — completely unreasonable.

Now, for the past 5 days, I’ve had no hot water or heating at all. Every time I call, I’m told an engineer will contact me, but no one ever calls. They seem to use multiple subcontractors, and none of them take responsibility or follow up.

I’m 63 years old and recently returned home after cancer surgery, so having no heating or hot water is not only frustrating but absolutely unacceptable. The lack of care, urgency, and communication is shocking.

If this is not resolved immediately, I will be contacting the council about the quality of service and the way this program is being run

The three musketeers.

Three guys came to my property exactly when they said they would, introduced themselves took their shoes off and explained to me what they were going to do and started work immediately. I told them to put their shoes on as their feet would be cold. They laid dust sheets down everywhere and then the work began. Well what can I say, they were absolutely fantastic they couldn’t do enough for me. They fitted my brand new boiler all in one day and they only had 10 minutes for lunch. They cleaned up after themselves and you would never had thought anyone had been, they left it that clean and tidy. I can’t thank them enough for the service they provided, absolutely brilliant thanks guys.

Superb service

I rarely give reviews, but credit where it's due, the experience with IGNI has been great. The application process was as simple as possible and follow up customer service flawless. The contractors who installed the boiler were diligent and efficient, putting in an incredible shift to finish all the work in a day.

Frustrating and costly experience

Such a frustrating and costly experience. My boiler is over 20 years old and I had just started on UC when I applied for the Eco 4 free boiler grant but had to wait a month for my first UC statement as evidence.
In the mean time IGNI or their contractor sent round a surveyor to test the energy rating and it was reported back that it has passed that element. They booked in a date for the install so I took time off of my limited work. The contractor wasn't aware of the dates that had been booked in and there was poor communication between IGNI - contractor - myself, with IGNI just saying everything was fine and booking in dates without consulting anyone. The install was then cancelled the day before due to waiting on the UC statement but I was told everything else had passed and we were just waiting on UC. I then got told the energy rating hadn't passed after all but when I queried why they said it was an error and it was all fine to go ahead. Once the UC element was passed IGNI booked in another install date three days later without consulting anyone and so I took more time off of work and began emptying my loft. I contacted the contractor who told me he wasn't aware of those dates and it couldn't be arranged in that time frame but I had already booked the day off and that was unchangeable with work. He said he would try to get a team together. I then booked the following Tuesday off as per conversation with contractor availability for insulation then a further day off for the boiler install. I then got told that my boiler was installed in 2022 so I wasn't eligible. It wasn't. It was installed in 2004.
The day before the insulation install, after I had started emptying loft again and taken yet another day off of work, contractor then says to contact IGNI and they would not be installing the next day.
Contacted IGNI again and they said that I was no longer eligible because I had failed the energy test due to my loft insulation being 27mm thick already. The surveyor would have reported that back in early October and yet IGNI still kept stringing me along for eight weeks and booking in dates for installs.
In total, I had booked five days off of work due to IGNIs scheduling, two days of which I was able to get back with my employer but three days of which I have lost when I absolutely cannot afford to lose financially but did so as I thought I was getting a new, more reliable boiler. This grant is for people on low income but IGNI are just in it for the £1000s they get in funding to install something that only takes a few £k and couldn't give a monkeys about the people this grant was designed for.
I have since gone on to IGNIs website and completed my details again, providing my address for the grant funding and it comes back with 'You are Eligible' even though the properties at this postcode do not meet the criteria for energy rating. They're stringing people along. You'll be wasting your time and energy with their lies. Don't do it.

TLDR it's a coin flip, if you get a good quality sub-contractor you will have no issues at all, if you get a poor quality sub-contractor, good luck, and enjoy the stress...

First things first, IGNI are a lead generation company, Primarily used by small business contractors in order to be a central hub for both customers and contractors for eco-4 and other government grants. In terms of getting a contractor issued I had no issues.

The contractor that I was issued, RZ ECO ENERGY LTD, who had perfectly fine reviews themselves online, made an absolute mess of my home, and I had to jump through a load of hoops in order to get it sorted, and IGNI were unable to really support with it, and once I managed to sort out the contractors they originally supplied me, they were unable to issue me a new contractor and I had to go elsewhere

IGNI states that inside of their T&C's that they are not responsible for any work done by these sub-contractors and that any issues need to be dealt with between the customer and the sub-contractor.

Personally I feel that that is perfectly fine, however not being able to supply a replacement sub-contractor is crazy to me

TLDR it's a coin flip, if you get a good quality sub-contractor you will have no issues at all, if you get a poor quality sub-contractor, good luck, and enjoy the stress...

I can’t thank these guys enough

I can’t thank these guys enough. I tried a few companies and all made conditions which put help just out of reach, I was beginning to think the ads were false, I was wrong. I contacted IGNI they processed my “qualifying” application and promptly completed a survey. Just days later I got a call to say my application was being dealt with and all work would be done within days.

I was surprised by the extent of the works, the improvements were comprehensive tackling condensation, insulation, heating and hot water.

The workmen were all polite, friendly, skilled and committed. Small things like sticking with the job until it was done, insisting on taking their own shoes of before walking through the house. The person supervising the works kept in touch, ensuring that the service of their workmen was top notch and it was.

I feel quite humble and can’t thank IGNI enough, the condensation has gone, the house is warm, I have hot water, it just means so much to have someone help me in this way, thanks guys.

INSTALLATION OF NEW COMNI-BOILER.
Our new BAXI boiler was installed on Friday 2/1/25 by your team. They were due here between 9 & 11 but arrived at 12.00 noon - 6 of them having driven from London. They set about their work straight away, 2 fitting new ventilators to the windows and the others removing and replacing the boiler. They worked hard and diligently, keeping out of our way. At 7.00pm the ventilator couple finished and left for home. At 9.45pm the new boiler was fitted. I asked the person i/c if he would set the timing which he did and also quickly explained how to do it. There were so many buttons and images on the screen that I could not understand what he was saying and he was obviously in a hurry to set off back to London. Regrettably when I wanted to use the shower later, the water was cold. The little book he gave me and instruction manual was so complicated that I could not determine how to set it. Luckily our son arrived the next day and reset the boiler and, so far, it now works satisfactorily. Your staff behaved impeccably whilst here.
If you want a suggestion it is this, write a simple instruction manual, in clear English, so a layman like me can understand the basics. It should cover how to set date & time; temperature and how to choose and set a programme; and a brief explanation how it works. The big difference is that there is no hot water tank.

Fitters arrived on time to fit new ventilation system and loft insulation. They were very thorough, and left no mess whatsoever. They were very polite and courteous. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Terrible misleading service

Really disappointed with the service provided by IGNI. I contacted them on behalf of a vulnerable person whose boiler needs replacing. After an over the phone assessment I was told that they were eligible for the boiler replacement and we could book in for a survey before installation. I was given a 4 hour slot and waited for the surveyor to arrive. 15mins before the end of the slot I received a call from the surveyor to say he’d be 30mins late, which was fine and he confirmed the property type which was a ground floor maisonette. Five minutes later I received a call from IGNI to say that we were no longer eligible and the surveyor would no longer be coming. After waiting all afternoon for someone to come this was extremely frustrating, particularly as I had spoken to IGNI several times over the last few days and nobody had highlighted the fact they don’t work on maisonette properties. This information was nowhere to be found online and they have completely wasted my time. I was told that if the property has no loft, they can’t help you with your boiler. A disappointing loophole for a scheme that is intended to help vulnerable people keep their homes warm this winter. This information should be more clearly displayed rather than misleading information about free boiler grants. Nobody on the phone could explain to me why this information wasn’t shared earlier on in the process.

I could not recommend IGNI enough

I could not recommend IGNI enough. I am another happy customer the work was quick and efficient from day one I was updated throughout the process. I was eligible for an energy efficient combi boiler, loft and wall installation. Also IGNI also went above and beyond to install 2 vents one in the kitchen and one in the bathroom. If your thinking to see if your also Eligible go for it ! Honestly could not recommend enough.

Great from start to end

Great from start to end. We contacted Igni and within a few days a surveyor came out to confirm they could fit a new boiler and insulation, then a few days later it was all done. Unfortunately a couple of days after the install I got up to find water coming through the downstairs ceiling. I called the installer who could not help, but then called Igni and they got a plumber to come out and fix the issue. Overall very happy with the service I got from Igni.

I have no words as the quality of service we received...from what started as a simple phone call to days later a full boiler install was amazing...such pleasant, polite and efficient workman that cleaned up as they went and didn't stop from the time they turned up till the time they left...couldn't fault them and would definitely recommend to anyone who needed a new boiler ....

Very pleased from start to finish

Very pleased from start to finish from a simple phone call Igni sorted everything out Saturday morning loft was in insulated fan in kitchen and bathroom and trickle vents fitted on windows great bunch of lads very polite and helpful then Tuesday morning the 2 gentlemen turned up to fit the boiler totally amazed with how hard-working everybody within the team have been would highly recommend

Excellent service highly recommended

Excellent service from first contact a few weeks ago to inspection on 21st October loft insulation air circulation fitted on Friday 24th October and boiler with all radiator thermostats and units on 28th October my 85 year old mother is very happy and can now keep warm this winter and finally get hot water as her old boiler had failed both installation teams were excellent as was the original inspect and more was done than expected thank you all
