First, on the “spamming”. In this case you’ve had two emails in a week from one of our team, an initial email and a follow-up. For you, that was clearly two too many and we accept that. If you haven’t already unsubscribed, please either click the link in the email or contact us with your address and we’ll remove you manually from our lists.

On data, we comply with UK GDPR and all relevant data-protection law. We license B2B contact data from third-party providers on that basis. We can’t comment on your specific correspondence with any particular supplier, but if a provider falls short of what they tell us (or you), we take that seriously and challenge it. We understand your frustrations, but the suggestion that we’re paying for “stolen” data and blasting out irrelevant spam isn’t a fair reflection of how we operate.

Thank you for clarifying that you haven’t subscribed. As you are probably aware, GDPR permits direct B2B marketing on the basis of legitimate interest, allowing companies to reach out to senior professionals about relevant services, provided it’s proportionate, respectful and offers a clear opt-out. That’s the basis we use. The unsubscribe link isn’t us dodging responsibility; it’s the industry-standard, one click way for you to say “no thanks” and for us to honour that promptly. That said, you shouldn’t feel like you’re firefighting 50 of these a day from lots of different businesses, we get why that’s frustrating and we have no desire to add to the noise.
