Not inspired by Inspiration Hardware

We recently ordered from inspiration hardware. We ordered quite a bit of hardware and were surprised that we didn't have any damage when the box the hardware came in was pretty beat up. Upon installing the cabinet pulls the contractor noticed one was crooked. The screw holes were not aligned properly. So we called today less than three weeks after purchase(mostly because there was a promotion for 10% off that didn't go through). They are pretty stringent with having the packaging to return an item and something cant be returned if installed. These policies seem pretty unreasonable to me but they probably are not worried about return customers. They also said the discount was only offered the previous month so they said i wouldn’t be getting that either. It didn’t say it was for a particular month and i saw it on their website when i ordered. It was a large order so not honoring the 10% I guess makes sense-for them. Overall pretty disappointed and i wouldn’t recommend purchasing hardware from a place that is not customer service orientated. On the other hand the pendant lights from Gubi we ordered had a similar discount and it did not apply at checkout. I emailed them and they responded the same day saying they corrected the error. Come to think of it i emailed inspiration hardware twice before calling and no response at all.

First, we did not receive the emails you mentioned prior to your phone call. We carefully monitor our support inbox and respond to all messages we receive. Had we received photos of the damaged shipping box and the affected product before installation, we absolutely would have worked with you to replace or resolve the issue promptly.

Regarding returns: our policy—clearly stated on our website—requires original packaging and that items not be installed. This is standard for precision hardware, as installation permanently alters the product and prevents proper quality inspection or resale. These requirements allow us to maintain consistent quality for all customers.

As for the 10% promotion, it was a November-only offer, and your order was placed in December after the promotion had ended. While we understand how this can be frustrating, we’re unable to retroactively apply expired promotions.

We take customer service seriously and have replaced items many times when issues are reported promptly and with the required information. We regret that this situation didn’t resolve the way either of us would have preferred, and we remain open to reviewing any documentation or photos if you’d still like us to take another look.

Returned No Refund.

I returned items on 8/4, took until 9/6 to receive an email stating I was getting a refund. Problem is the account listed is not my credit card. Today I provided proof of which credit card was used. The response I received from Iris Hernandez “We have a system that automatically processes refunds. We do not enter your card details manually. We do not even have access to your card information. This is our last response.” I guess no refund is being made to me but somebody got my refund. I would not trust making purchases through their website. I doubt I am the first person to have their refund be delayed by over 30 days only to have it refunded to someone else’s account.

Your return was fully refunded in good faith. Although our policy normally requires a restocking fee and return shipping charges, and although our team had not yet inspected the returned items due to warehouse delays, we chose to issue your refund immediately to ensure you were made whole without further wait.

Refunds are handled exclusively through Shopify’s secure payment platform. As a merchant, Inspire Hardware does not have access to any customer’s card numbers, nor do we ever enter or choose where funds are sent. Shopify’s system automatically routes the refund back to the original payment method used at checkout. This process is in place to protect customers and ensure refunds are applied securely.

We have shared screenshots with you confirming that the refund was processed. If it is not yet visible in your account, the only party who can trace and confirm the posting is your card issuer, as they control the timing and visibility of credits.

At Inspire Hardware, our commitment is to act with fairness and integrity. In this case, we went beyond our standard return policy to expedite your full refund. While we regret that the bank processing timeline has caused further confusion, please be assured that your refund has been securely issued through Shopify.

$40 restocking fee on a return is insane

The items I ordered unfortunately did not work in the space. They were beautiful and seemed well crafted. My reason for a 1 star is that on the $200 order that I returned, I was hit with a $40 restocking fee! Give me a break - that is bananas and nowhere did I see mention of that prior to ordering. If I had, I would not have taken the gamble in ordering from here and now that I know, I would not order again or suggest this brand to any friends. There should not be a penalty for ordering something only to find out it doesn't work in your home. That's ridiculous.

Terrible company

Terrible company. They accidentally delivered a few handles in the wrong finish after I purchased thousands of dollars in hardware.

It was their mistake, and they resolved it. However, they refused to work with me to have the misdelivered products returned.

I have them at my home they could come pick them up (or send a UPS driver to pick them up) or they can wait until my project is done and I have some spare time to print the shipping label and take them to a UPS store.

Instead they decided I'm not allowed to be a customer. They cancelled my last order that I paid for and now they tell me I can't shop there anymore.

I'm still waiting for them to pick up their stuff. I don't get it.

This is not a serious or reliable company.
