DNA & Intrum: A predatory system that sues you for paid bills
I am writing this to warn others about the "system failure" at DNA. I have been a customer, but I was shocked to find myself served with a court summons (Helsinki District Court Case E 26/4100) for a debt that DNA admitted was already zero.
I contacted DNA Customer Service, and they confirmed in writing: "As far as DNA is concerned, the invoices have been paid, and you currently have no outstanding invoices". Despite this confirmation, DNA allowed their collection partner, Intrum Oy, to continue legal action against me.
When I reached out to resolve this, DNA simply pushed the responsibility to Intrum, and Intrum refused to cancel the court case unless I paid an additional €198.63 in collection and legal fees—fees for a debt that the original creditor said didn't exist.
I am forced to pay these fees today just to protect my credit record from a "payment default" mark, even though DNA’s own staff confirmed my balance was clear. This feels like a scam where the left hand doesn't talk to the right, and the customer is the one who pays the price.
I didn't check DNA’s 1.25-star rating on Trustpilot before joining, but after being sued for a bill I already paid, I completely understand why it is so low. Avoid this provider if you value your peace of mind and your credit score.
