Afgelopen zondag had mijn teckel 2 druiven opgegeten. Toen ik dat op internet opzocht, werd er dringend geadviseerd zo snel als mogelijk naar een DA te gaan. Maar omdat het zondag was Evidensia in Barendrecht gebeld, daar werd ik er al snel opgewezen vlug langs te komen omdat binnen 2 uur de druiven eruit moesten via overgeven, zodat mijn teckel de druiven dan zou uitbraken. 

Dus je word via de telefoon al behoorlijk bang gemaakt voor de evt gevolgen.

Maar omdat mijn teckel alles voor mij is wil ik geen enkel risico lopen.

Dus vlug met mijn zoon naar Evidensia in Barendrecht gereden.

Daar kreeg mijn hondje Clevor 30 mg/ml ropinirol oogdruppels voor te braken, dat lukte verder ook prima.

Ze wilden haar ook nog een spuit geven tegen misselijkheid, dat heb ik maar niet gedaan omdat mijn teckel een week vantevoren gedekt was, en al die medicijnen niet goed zijn.

Na een klein kwartier daar binnen hebben te staan kreeg ik een rekening van €292,45

€35,45 voor de oogdruppels.

€257,- voor een consult van een klein kwartier.

En dat zonder vantevoren mij de tarieven te vertellen.

Voel mij zwaar opgelicht, omdat een kennis mij vertelde dat hij bij zijn dure advocaat €495,- per uur betaalde, dus ik betaal bij Evidensia in Barendrecht nog meer dan een dure advocaat.

Dit is voor mij een heel groot bedrag uit mijn maand budget, voel me zwaar belazerd!

Volgens mij wordt je dierenarts om dieren te helpen toch, maar hier gaat het om geld graaien bij mensen die met een ziek dier langs komen. Ik snap ook dat er mensen zijn die dit helemaal niet kunnen betalen, en niet met hun dier naar de DA gaan, met alle gevolgen van dien en dat er daardoor een hoop dierenleed wordt veroorzaakt.

Daarbij hoor ik nu van div kennissen en honden bezitters: Ik wist niet dat een hond geen druiven mocht hebben, die van ons geven we er ook ooit wel een. Dus voel me zwaar opgelicht door Dierenziekenhuis Evidensia in Barendrecht, dit zijn zakkenvullers over de rug van zieke dieren!

This is the most VULGAR operating group I have ever had the misfortune of coming across in my 56 years on this planet.. MONEY HUNGRY & GREEDY with absolutely NO CARE for the wellbeing of animals...
Now i am not talking about the vets themselves, they are great and personally mine is friendly and lovely BUT unfortunately these large conglomerates FORCE the vets to charge these outrageous prices and you wonder why people end up throwing out their pets onto highways or in bin, it is sad and detrimental to the animals well being and welfare a lot of caring owners are not rich some need animals for emotional support or others reasons and a lot of people in todays world do not earn those huge wages or have lost jobs and are on support yet have so much love to give an animal, they need to somehow stop these horrendous charges and fall in line with a base charge. We as pet owners need to start standing up to them, perhaps with petitions and complaints.. I am going to be looking into sorting a petition and getting it online I will also be complaining directly to them via their complaints email address which unfortunately i am not allowed to enter in here but just type "email complaints and ivcevedensia" into google and you should see it..
I would encourage others to do the same if you you wouldn't mind. We cant afford these horrendous prices, and for those who would say to me well just find a private vet who charges less, I cant i am forced to use a specific type of vet as i own a parrot and avian vets are far and few between so no choice FORSED into paying these prices, I have a friend who is a vet and she was forced out of the group she worked for when she complained to them about the prices, and she is not the only one, i have heard other stories also so the vets go quiet for fear of losing the jobs.... DISGUSTING behaviour from a group that claims the below on their website

"We are a global leader in veterinary care, investing in our people, premises and processes to deliver outstanding care in around 2,500 locations across 20 countries."

They don't care unless their vets fall in line and keep their mouths shut

The only thing they care about is their profit margin, big houses, fancy cars and expensive holidays.

THEY NEED TO STOP CHARGING THES HORRENDOUS PRICES. I will now follow up with an email to their complaints dept, and i really urge others to do the same

In the beginning of 2025, I took my little Shih Tzus, Bichon Frises to Oakfield Vets, Atherstone asking for help with removing the build up around my little girls eyes (caused by oxidized porphyrins). I also informed the veterinarian, that groomers are not prepared to clean it because of the sensitive in my little girls eyes. The veterinarian, said I'll give you tablets to calm her down, then you can place these eye drops in her eyes. I informed her right away that is is going to be impossible because my little girl is very sensitive when you try to touch her eyes. (No one took the time to listen to what I was saying). For the pain tablets, cream and the E-colla, this nearly amount up to £100.00. Lets not forget that I have always used Oakfield Vets for my animals, we are looking at over 20 years now. 2026,my little girls yearly vaccines. Once again I reach out to the same veterinarian for help. I again asked for them to place my baby under anesthetic to remove the build up around her eyes. The same veterinarian noticed that my little girl had a eye infection, which actually she has had for over a year now on and off because Oakfield Vets, Atherstone refused to take action in 2025? She requested for a quotation to be emailed to me for this service. Please bear in mind, I'm disabled and a pensioner, I can't afford large vet bills. Well, well when I received the quotation, I was SHOCKED the cost of the treatment will be an £351.55. Well it is over a week now and I still haven't received a response.

Their communication and understanding of clients is appalling. Our local practice (formerly a lovely independent) - with no advance notice - has changed the emergency cover and closed our local surgery location, to the detriment of our pets' welfare. Prices have rocketed since they took over. Hidden smallprint conceals a cancellation charge if you want to leave their PET HEALTH CLUB and/or move elsewhere.

Their practice is Tyne vets in Ryton, staffed by caring vets/nurses and helpful support staff. No problems there. The issue is the overhead of accountants and head office staff who massively overcharge to justify their inflated salaries. Today we had to pay two prescription charges of £35 for just two items - i.e. £70. We get the medication from an online dispenser because last time we checked IVC Evidensia wanted over £500 for one medicine that was obtainable online for £100! Outrageous price difference. Government needs to clamp down on this profiteering which exploits people’s love of animals. Vultures in head office making pet ownership a misery and exploiting the lack of choice in vet care.

Recently found they have taken over Castle Veterinary Group located in South Down, NI. Kept quiet from their client base but with the switch to profit profit profit and constantly hocking products to make money it makes sense.

Disappointed in the way my dog has been treated.

With my second dog, he had an itch problem and they prescribed medication straight away (no other topical options provided at that time). Said medication has several concerning studies carried out which can cause (amongst other things) liver damage in dogs. THIS WAS NOT FLAGGED TO ME AT THE TIME.

Following review of my dogs condition a few weeks ago the vet recommended alternative topical treatments NOT given initially. Blood tests now show potential liver damage in my dog. I have now left the practice.

Will never darken the doors again, and will be DEVASTATED if my dog’s condition is irreversible due to the overprescription model of castle vets. AVOID AVOID AVOID FOR THE HEALTH OF YOUR PETS.

Onze bijna 7 jaar oude kater wilde niet meer eten dus een bezoekje aan de dierenarts. Deze hoorde iets afwijkends aan zijn hartje en stuurde ons door naar Evidensia Geldrop. De arts daar hoorde niet afwijkends en we zijn naar huis gestuurd met 2 tabletjes tegen de misselijkheid en om de eetlust op te wekken. Thuis dwangvoeren en zijn ademhaling in de gaten houden…. De dagen daarna leek het iets beter te gaan met Mickey, maar na een paar dagen zakte hij toch weer in. Naar een andere dierenarts (een onafhankelijke) en die vertelde dat er wel degelijk iets niet goed was met zijn hartje. Ze heeft hem een aantal ‘boost’ injecties gegeven en we zouden met hem naar een specialist gaan na het weekend om te kijken wat er aan de hand was. Het mocht allemaal niet meer baten…. tijdens het medicijnen geven de dag erna hield zijn hartje ermee op… Een nare en veel te jonge dood die voorkomen had kunnen worden als er de week ervoor beter was gekeken bij Evidensia. Deze mensen verdienen de naam dierenarts niet. 500 euro voor een verkeerde diagnose en het ergste van alles… onze lieve, kleine poes Mickey moeten missen.

Since local vets no longer have 'out of hours emergency on site' (even so called Independent Vets) they now use these referral centres. Swift Referrals is who our vets now use. Gone are the days of your vet opening up and seeing you and in most cases dealing with the emergency. Now you have no choice but to go to these centres. They charge extortionate prices because they know they can. What used to be just a drip and electrolytes at your local vet for £400 is now minimum £4000 at these referral places. Yes, there's insurance... but it only covers so much. I have Prestige cover for £6000 each condition annually which renews every year. I pay 20%. Fine... but when you have places like this charging minimum £4000 that's practically your entire year insurance gone for one condition. If something goes wrong for that same condition you're really in trouble, because you're back there again with thousands more to pay beyond your insurance. Yes, science has moved on, but it seems to me that you need to be rich AND have insurance to care for a pet nowadays. That's NOT right. We won't be getting another dog after this one, and I've had pets all my life. It's all down to how the veterinary world is working now. It's not about care. I'm sure this has caused thousands of animals to be put down rather than cared for and put through procedures and tests that weren't even necessary. I find the whole veterinary experience absolutely sickening now.

De eerste keer kwijlde mijn hond heel erg omdat hij iets in de tuin had gegeten. Hoewel de symptomen weg waren stelde ze voor om toch langs te komen. Omdat het in de avonduren was kwam hier €275,- bovenop. Ze wilde mijn hond medicatie of vaccinaties geven tegen de misselijkheid (terwijl hij alleen kwijlde en de symptomen al weg waren. Deze kosten zouden er dan nog bij komen.
Ik ben met buikpijn naar huis gegaan.

De tweede keer zou er in de avonduren €300,- bij komen, en begonnen ze aan de telefoon ook al over pilletjes dit pilletjes dat, terwijl ze de hond nog niet eens hadden bekeken.

Als je denkt dat er nood is trek je zonder aarzeling je portemonnee, en het lijkt alsof ze bij dit ziekenhuis meer aan je portemonnee denken dan aan het welzijn van je huisdier.

Ik kom hier nooit meer 👋🏻

This company has turned my once wonderful local Veterinary in Windsor, into a cold calling, "let's see what else we can get you in for" callous outfit. Stop with the proactive phone calls and emails and giving out appointments a year in advance-is this all for the book keepers to show healthy accounts? I've managed 35 years making appointments and going there when needed.

They bought out my vets Ark House in Leighton Buzzard. Then pushed me to agree to a Librela injection. Said no side effects which was not true. My Labrador had the injection on the Wednesday and collapsed on the Sunday. He was paralysed, panting uncontrollably, his eyes fixed open, he overheated. The out of hours vet said his brain overheated. He was alive and brain dead. He had a nerve injury from a car accident. Should never have been given the injection. I discovered he had been treated by a recently qualified locum. I have done a concern to the RVCS. Looking at it they were asking me to pay for tests he didn’t need. The bills were huge, I moved to a local independent vet. Much better, but they killed my Labrador Cody. Then when I told them he was dead, they just said he was old. 😡 Be very careful.
They did not report the Librela death. I did it on 12.02.2026

Na het overlijden van onze Ientje kwam de vraag of wij haar daar zouden laten.
Natuurlijk niet; ze ging met ons mee! En wat ben ik blij nu de uitzending van Kassa heb gekeken over de wantoestanden bij het cremeren van onze lieverds..

A complete rip off of a company who are not interested in animals at all. Pricing is out of this world. 500 pounds for an ecocardiogram which costs only 200 if you have one at a private clinic in London.
This company makes hundreds of millions in profit every year. Even the vets who work for them are embarrassed with the prices they charge.
They need to be regulated by the government on the amounts they charge as they are almost bankrupting their customers.

Stuurt ongevraagd een offerte voor een gezondheidsscreening voor één van mijn katten. Kat wordt bij naam genoemd in dit bericht. Voor mij bijzonder pijnlijk te lezen, deze kat is namelijk een paar jaar geleden overleden!
Ik vind het ronduit schandalig van deze 'verzekeringsmaatschappij' om dergelijke opdringerige aanbiedingen te sturen.

Since these Venture Capitalists took over the Park Vets in Watford the service is purely profit over care. Prices have risen astronomically and the mark up on medication is farcical. We have a 16 year old cat who has suffered with Feline Herpes Virus for over 5 years, it’s manageable and he has flare up every so often. They will not give us the medication we know he needs without us taking him in, very stressful for all of us ! they will do a video call !!! i’m sorry this is box ticking and profiteering, we’ve now had enough! be careful of these private equity establishments !

Since taking over Staid Vets in Beaconsfield, UK, the charges have increased and we have been bombardwd with notices and phone calls to attend the vets including a new 6 month nurse assesment. They are all about how do we get more of your money, typical venture capitalists!!

No les importan nada ni las personas ni los animales. Sólo van a monetizar. Por otro lado, el equipo responsable que gestiona las clínicas veterinarias de la zona de Madrid es muy incompetente. Lo sé bien porque trabajé para ellos durante 4 meses. Gente falsa y carente de toda humanidad. Me alegro mucho de no pertenecer ya a ese grupo. No tienen principios, por mucho que quieran “vender” lo contrario. No les pondría ninguna estrella.

It breaks my heart to have to write this: through the actions at their clinic in Hofheim, Germany, we lost our furry family member.
