Meave & Ivy Are a Scam!!! Avoid Avoid Avoid
I purchased a cute pair of baggy jeans for my daughter. They weren’t the cheapest - £43 but they were the style she was after, so I bought them.
They arrived two weeks after I purchased them. I could tell the quality was subpar as soon as I took them out of the packaging. The denim was thin and rough to the touch, the colour was already very different from the photo, and the hardware looked and felt completely different from the photo as well.
I gave them to my daughter to try on, and the fit was awful. They definitely were not “baggy”. And they were quite tight despite being a UK size 8. For the record, my daughter usually wears a UK size 6 but wanted these to be particularly oversized to wear shorts underneath. There was no way a pair of shorts could fit. The UK size 8 was skintight.
And to top it off, the buttonhole was sealed shut. So she couldn’t button them.
I emailed Meave & Ivy, as instructed on their website, to request a refund and start the returns process, and their initial response shocked me. They not only didn’t offer a refund, but they also urged me to buy another pair of jeans at a 15% discount.
They still haven't offered me a full refund without me paying to ship the jeans back to their warehouse in China. This directly contradicts their return and refund policy, which says customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective, damaged, or we shipped the wrong product.
This smacks of a company that is delivering substandard products and taking a punt that the customer will be too busy or confused to do anything about it. Resulting in more money for the company. Don’t fall prey. Avoid Meave & Ivy at all costs!!!
