Extremely disappointing experience. I came in for a hair colour appointment and left feeling embarrassed and very unhappy with the level of service I received.

Sophie applied my colour before moving on to another customer. When the second stylist was about to blow-dry my hair, I noticed that I had a large amount of dye left all around my forehead. I pointed it out and was shocked that it had not been noticed by the team. The response was that it would need pressure and vigorous rubbing to remove it, and I was then left to clean it myself using cotton wool and a towel.

I spent around ten minutes trying to remove the dye while staff continued with my appointment. The second stylist started blow-drying my hair, but then left halfway through to return to another customer, leaving an apprentice to take over. While I was still trying to remove the dye from my forehead, the apprentice could see what I was doing but appeared more focused on continuing with my hair rather than allowing me the time to properly resolve the issue.

Being told, "It will come off in a couple of days," was not acceptable. I paid for a professional colour service and should not have been expected to leave the salon with dye all over my forehead or be left to deal with the problem myself.

The lack of care, professionalism, and customer service was extremely disappointing. I was made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon.

After another hairdresser at James Bushell really messed my hair up and cut it wonky, over a year later after it grew out I trusted in Dalel and no regrets at all. I have now been back to her several times. Zero faff, cuts exactly how you want, very precise, very professional and perfect. She is honestly the best. Mehran is also excellent, she advises well and really knows what cut and colour suits you. Mehran has dyed my hair several times and it always looks flawless. She has a great eye for detail.

Dalel is the best coulourist I know , I have always been impressed with her work, and she is so friendly , I have been going to her for years, and the cut is also very good.

Dalel has been cutting my hair for about 15 years: perfect every time and by any objective measure she is at the top of her profession. I also like the apprentices coming through: always a delight and so good to see them applying themselves and growing in confidence. A good business. A certain recommendation on every level. Robert R

I have been a loyal customer of Dalel for about 15 years, and I genuinely wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. Even after moving to London, I still make the trip just to have my haircut with her. I first met Dalel when I was living in Birmingham, where she worked at a different salon, and I’ve followed her ever since. That alone says everything about how exceptional she is.

Dalel is not only an incredibly skilled hairdresser but also a fantastic person. I always enjoy our conversations while she works. She creates such a warm, comfortable experience that makes every visit something I look forward to.

What really sets her apart is how attentive she is. She truly listens to what you want, and at the same time adds her own expert touch, which somehow always turns out even better than I imagined. Recently, I’ve experienced significant hair loss due to nutritional deficiencies, and I was genuinely surprised and impressed by how she managed to cut and style my hair in a way that made it look noticeably thicker.

Dalel is highly experienced and talented, yet she continues to invest in her ongoing training, which shows her dedication to her craft. I can’t recommend her enough. She’s simply the best.

Went to Harvey Nichols JB and Dalel was brilliant as ever. She has fantastic customer care and always looks like she’s loving her job. Will be back next month!

I had Meg do my hair for me, and I could not be more chuffed. Went in and she was so kind and accomodating, and couldnt of asked for anything more with my hair. Completely nailed what I asked for, so happy and will defo be going back!!

A special thank you to CJ, who cut my daughter’s hair — she was absolutely fantastic. CJ was so patient, kind, and attentive, making my daughter feel completely comfortable throughout. The cut was beautifully done with amazing attention to detail, and my daughter left feeling so happy and confident. It’s clear CJ genuinely cares about her clients and takes real pride in her work.

I have been going to James Bushell for several years. Sophie does a superb job of my colour, blending in grey roots, bringing to life the amazing copper gold. Jamie Bushell does a fabulous job of my cut and blow dry. I have so many compliments about my hair, if you haven't tried it i'd give it a go. The salon is top notch, great customer service, everyone is friendly. I wouldn't go anywhere else, well done James Bushell for offering a top notch service!

Highly recommended, I was a casual walk-in to the Edgbaston salon, and was treated courteously & professionally by Sharon, she was attentive & knowledgeable, and gave great sensible guidance, I ended up having a drastic haircut which I had been wanting for 3 years but was too afraid to try, and I absolutely love it, she gave good advice on after-care and follow-ups too, would definitely recommend her & the salon as a whole, what a good find!

My hair appointments with Delal at Harvey Nicholls are always a great experience. She always understands exactly what i need and want. The condition of my hair, the style, colour, highlights and cut are always perfect, as is Delal's attention to detail.

I had a lovely day with Dalel from James bushell at harvey nichols had roots, highlights and cut had it styled a bit different today and I love it Dalel is a fantastic stylelist and I will be going back soon, I must say I find all the staff there very helpful and friendly lovely salon

Had my usual wash and cut at my regular salon and, as always, I'm extremely pleased. My stylist Sunny is attentive, skilled, and makes the whole experience relaxing. I always leave feeling happy with my hair.

It's been a week since I took the plunge and had my hair coloured for the first time! I was going a little bit grey and didn't know what would be the best thing to do- I was apprehensive about the whole thing. Dalel was absolutely fantastic! She listened to my ideas and talked me through what she thought would be the best option for me. Although the salon was busy and there was a problem with the booking they sorted things out so swiftly I was barely aware there had been anything wrong.
Dalel made sure to take her time with me- I was really treated to what felt like a day of papering and offered lots of hot drinks to keep me going!
My hair has been transformed! I absolutely love it!
It's so well coloured and cut - Dalel is an artist with hair! I've had lots of complements but also lots of people not notice until a little way into to our meet ups which is exactly what I wanted - something that suited me so much and looked natural enough not to stand out too much!
Its everything I hoped my first colour experience to be. Glad I took the plunge - I will be coming back!

I am so lucky to have my hair done by the wonderful Sunny and Sam, both are experts and I am very lucky to experience this work by such incredible artists. They always make me feel welcome and I always leave feeling great, a testament to their work and professionalism.

As always Sunny has been totally attentive and professional in his approach and produces a perfect result for me and my husband which is very much appreciated.
