Come in for a day pass, Delt with an employee called Karim and will definitely be back for a membership what a young man he is. I have already recommended a couple of friends + my cousin, highly recommended gym great atmosphere and top notch customer service

Not Trustworthy When It Comes to Money and Refunds
Be extremely cautious with this company. After submitting a formal cancellation request, they continued to charge my account via direct debit for nearly a year. The reason given was "pending verification," yet there was no phone call or reminder to follow up, despite zero usage of the service.

The company's lack of communication on such an important matter is unacceptable. We were charged for an entire year for a service we had already cancelled. I would not recommend them to anyone, and their billing process is clearly unreliable.

It's JD gym who is responsible to provide a clean platform to request a 1-Click cancellation option (as a new normal) by authorized/logged in member -
1. Avoid manual key-in of membership data entry and typos
2. Avoid Need of subsequent verification

Extremely Disappointed – No Access, No Support
I signed up for JD Gym Farnborough on Tuesday, 2nd September 2025, and I’ve been unable to access the gym ever since. The PIN code and barcode from the JD app—both required to enter and exit—simply do not work. Despite this, JD Gym continues to charge me for a service I cannot use.
I’ve tried calling the number listed on their website and sent multiple emails, but no one answers the phone and I’ve received zero response. The lack of communication and support is shocking. I expected far better from a national gym chain.
This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. I’m extremely dissatisfied and would not recommend JD Gym Farnborough to anyone until they seriously improve their systems and support.

Very nice clean and tidy gym, they have so much equipment. Lovely training environment and friendly staff.

First of the management is unreal , they keep the place clean , they’ve enforced respectfully proper gym etiquette in a culture that’s seriously lacking. Machines are fixed very quickly and there’s enough machines and equipment around for whatever your goals are. Would 100% recommend.

Been wrongly charged an administration fee for a membership. My direct debit was honored by my bank and JD took payment, but then (for an unknown reason) sent it back, and have charged me an administration fee because of this!! Backwards and forwards emails with customer services and very difficult to get a hold of over the phone.

Great gym. Been coming for over 2 years. All the PTs are great, super friendly and helpful. Lovely environment for women who want to weight lift and also classes are great. Mainly hiit/ circuit style but a few other standard classes. Slightly slow on maintenance and no cleaning equipment left out for members to clean but this is from JD HQ, not local staff. Good kit, good price, sauna is a nice touch for the price.

I've been coming to JD Gym Farnborough for over a year and I find the staff very approachable and professional always willing to help with regards to fitness and nutrition and I find the facilities diverse and appropriate for a large gym.

I particularly recommend the Pilates,yoga and high intensity sessions.

The gym is well presented and clean and there are vending machines for drinks and protein snacks.

Visited with a day pass and highly recommend this gym! Great selection of equipment, members and staff all seemed friendly and most importantly, it was really clean and well maintained. It’s a shame I’m not local, I’d love to be a member here!

Great gym and the atmosphere in the mornings is really good!!
Keaton one of the managers has improved the gym’s cleanliness and the gym looks a lot better.
The gym does need improvement in the evenings with hygiene.

I’ve been coming to this gym for the last 18 months and I love it! There has been a remarkable effort over the last 3 or so months by all of the staff. The place is now fully functioning , clean and they have created a wonderful atmosphere to train in. Would highly recommend!

JD Farnborough run by kids, male cleaner is a pervert who for some reason comes only to wipe down the front of the ladies lockers at 8 am when they are all getting showered and changed, the guy has never cleaned a bloody toilet or shower in his life and don’t even start me on why that can’t be done when the changing rooms are closed at night ( you know for cleaning) have reported many times but nothing gets done, much like the fact that faulty equipment is not logged or taken out of service even when it has injured someone. The lift is magically out of action every night so if you can’t use the stairs don’t train out of hours because you can’t access the toilet or upstairs equipment.. great for a gym that says it’s for everyone !
Sanitary bins in the ladies are always overflowing with foul mess, again reported many times and even one of the managers told us she had asked jd to get them emptied more often but they refused! The staff sign off the daily “tick lists” without even checking anything. The rubber matting in the general free weights area is not fit for purpose and has been repaired once but now is all bubbling and lifting again, major trip hazard in a high traffic area. Most of the benches have loose bolts so either the backs or the seat wobble and move around not helpful when you have heavy dumbbells in your hands. No blue roll or sanitiser to wipe down equipment, I will not use my towel to clean other people’s sweat up !! Water stations routinely show orange mould around the inside where they haven’t been cleaned, doubt the legionella testing schedule is up to date either. When you report defects to the gym team they just say yes we know ! Don’t actually do anything to stop injuries.. I have had a broken toe and infection in another toe caused after weights randomly fell from the plate holders in squat rack that was defective, on two different occasions! Staff from other gyms come to try and “sort it out” but they are just obnoxious power tripping idiots who clearly skipped charm school. When I arrived at the gym the other lunchtime a member of staff was stood out the front in full JD uniform vaping! Fire exit is routinely blocked with bin liners of rubbish where they can’t seem to actually take them out to the bins. Basically it’s cheap, filthy, dangerous and run by muppets ( some of them are ok but JD HQ make ridiculous rules for them to follow !!) the “manager” from Swindon who struggles with his customer service skills actually told us we could empty the contents of our bags into the floor as long as the bag was in the locker ! Like seriously my kit is much less of a risk when it’s all neatly contained inside my bag and out of people’s way .. and do not ever approach a lifter mid set to tell them to move their bag unless you have intentions of causing a life changing injury ! Good gym all around, good equipment and good value but the hygiene is terrible.
Gym floor is often dirty and the men’s changing room is always bad. Showers have hair everywhere and never seem to be clean.

This is specific to the Farnborough Gym in Hampshire.
The gym is filthy, considering it is relatively new. The toilets stink worse than a pub on Friday night. The showers are nasty and have tide rings on the floor. The equipment is dirty, often with sweat rings in the same place for weeks. There is no cleaning equipment to enable users to clean equipment down after use.

The gym's equipment is of average to low calibre. It goes out of service for months without repair.

If you're looking for staff to help, good luck; they will be sitting feet up in the office. The staff has no control over people using the Gym. Users are playing football with water bottles and running around the floor, generally like schoolchildren. As for school children, again, there is no control from the staff. Schoolchildren are arriving in uniform. There is a chance they are 16+, but not all of them, and there is no challenge from the staff.

If you intend to work outside of normal hours, you have no access to a shower, toilet, or changing facilities, and it's generally freezing in the early hours of the morning. Even when doing CV work, it feels cold. So you do not have 24-hour access.

I have raised these issues with JD Gyms. After 2 weeks, I got a very generic email response—3 lines at best. They did say they would pass it on to the branch manager, who may contact me. Three weeks later, I haven't received any contact. There is absolutely no value placed on the customer.

In summary, I've been to better Gyms in third-world countries. I will not renew my membership and will travel the extra mile to a gym I know values its customers.

I’m really concerned about the noticeable decline in maintenance standards at the gym over the past few months. The cable machines are a prime example of this – not only are the clips for accessories consistently missing, but any clips that have been replaced are facing the wrong way, making attachment use incredibly awkward and non-ergonomic. This is a serious safety issue, as it forces improper movement and increases the risk of injury for anyone using them.

Additionally, the cables themselves appear to be neglected, with no money being put into ongoing maintenance, and the flooring in several areas is coming up, which is hazardous, particularly when lifting weights. It's alarming that no one is addressing these issues, as the uneven flooring can lead to accidents, especially when people are carrying heavy loads.

This gym used to regularly replace equipment and perform maintenance, but that no longer seems to be the case. It’s clear that the gym is not being properly managed or cared for. Honestly, I don’t think it's worth £30 a month anymore when the equipment is in this condition and nothing is being done to maintain it.
