The fact this gym facilitates all areas and difficulties of training is a big selling point, the added bonus of pleasant staff especially natalie makes this one of the better gyms in mansfield

The overall maintenance of this gym has declined to an unacceptable level. Most of the equipment is either broken or so worn down that it’s barely usable. Training quads is nearly impossible because the leg extension has no padding, and many of the machines are out of alignment, creating imbalances and posing a real risk of injury. For the amount we pay each month, this level of upkeep is not acceptable.

There is also a constant shortage of plates, which makes any form of heavy training extremely difficult, especially on leg day. The floors are uneven throughout the gym, adding another unnecessary hazard.

When I first joined, the facility was great. Over time it feels like it has been completely neglected, and as a result I’ve lost a lot of motivation and passion for training here. The only reason membership stays high is because it’s the closest 24/7 gym and only about five minutes away for many people. Without that convenience, a large portion of members, especially those who train seriously for powerlifting, strongman, or bodybuilding would likely leave.

The potential is there, but the lack of maintenance is driving the gym in the wrong direction.

Since the new management took over, the gym has been so much better! Natalie, the manager, is amazing — she always takes the time to chat, check in on how we’re getting on, and really makes everyone feel welcome. You can tell she genuinely cares about the members.

The gym is always spotless and has such a nice atmosphere now. The only small downside is there’s only one of the really popular machines (like the leg press, leg curl and leg extension), so sometimes you have to wait a bit.

Other than that, I honestly can’t fault it — the changes since Natalie has been in charge have made such a difference!

Lots of kit available and by far the biggest gym in Mansfield. The members and the staff are great, very friendly and engaging. Love where the gym is going and hopefully we can get even more equipment. Another pec fly would be perfect! Overall, very good gym and great staff.

The atmosphere at JD Gym has completely lifted — it feels way more welcoming and positive now. The place looks cleaner, the music’s better, and there’s just a good energy around the gym that wasn’t always there before.

The staff seem so much more engaged too — they actually chat with members, offer help with equipment, and make an effort to keep the vibe friendly. You can tell they care about the gym and the people in it.

It’s been great to see the changes, and it honestly makes me look forward to my workouts again. Keep it up, team! 👏💪

The whole atmosphere in the gym has improved recently and the move of some of the equipment has given a more open and welcoming feeling to the gym. The staff are very friendly and approachable always willing to offer assistance. The only down side is that there is only one of some of the most used equipment such as the Peck Deck. However as stated i am so happy with with the staff and the gym I'm sad to only be able to give a 4 star review due to the afore mentioned well used single pieces of equipment.

Been coming to JD Mansfield Woodhouse since it opened and honestly, the place has never been ran better! Since Natalie came back and took over as manager, it’s like the whole gym’s had a boost.

The staff are super friendly and always happy to help, which makes a big difference when you’re walking in for a session. The place feels better looked after, tidier, and just has a nicer vibe overall.

Few improvements could be made with some new/extra equipment I.e. a lat pull over machine, more fly/rear delt machines etc. but massive credit to Natalie and the team for getting it back on track and getting some new equipment in already and hopefully more on the horizon. Love training here again 💪

My first time in a gym after 8 years ..easy access..clean equipment and great atmosphere

The staff i encountered were quite scary looking and unapproachable. The running machines are facing into the gym so everyone looks at you whilst doing cardio. It made me feel self conscious. The gym doesn’t seem to have a very good/friendly vibe. The tiny ladies area seems a bit of a joke- it makes me concerned on how bad the harassment must be at this gym to need this. The music was too loud so I couldn’t hear my own podcast/music. I feel this would all stop me from going again.

Came at 9-45 this morning and it was easy to get on equipment without have to wait, really enjoyed it

I felt anxious about going to a gym for the first time in years. However the Manager met with me to do an induction and she was very supportive. Nat showed me how to use the equipment and also did me a sheet with the title of the equipment, what number to adjust both the seats and weights to. I felt at ease whilst there and I’m looking forward to my next visit.

Good choice of equipment, plenty of space. Good air-con.
