I really struggled with gym confidence but Josh made the plunge into it much easier.

Was nice to have someone tailor a workout for someone who has little experience in the gym.

Great gym! Best one in Swindon I think. Seems like it’s being cleaned every few hours. Staff are welcoming and on it. They stick to the rules which is what a gym needs. The gym is regularly being tidied. Weights being returned by the staff when needed, or balancing the weight trees. There are serious lifters, new lifters, cross fitters, and more. The classes are great. A**

I’ve been a member of the JD Gyms since the beginning of this year, and I have loved my experience there. It’s always clean and welcoming.

Josh, my personal trainer, is fantastic. He’s very polite and I enjoy my sessions with him. His knowledge is outstanding. I always learn something new.

I don't use any of the gym-floor equipment; I only joined this gym because my previous gym stopped doing Les Mills classes (Body Combat and Body Pump) and the instructors moved over to JD. It's now a 20 minute drive across Swindon, but worth it to get quality classes.

Lorraine and Tami are fantastic, and both highly experienced in the art of causing the right kind of pain. Other instructors are available.

The parking situation is pretty terrible, with limited parking outside the door and so many people park up on the road. It's generally a bit easier to get a space in the extra parking outside B&M.

Being a plus size person and a first time gym go-er I was unsure about how to do certain things, the staff are always friendly and helpful. One PT I think his name is Josh has been particularly useful in showing me how to use the machines and do basic movements.
Ontop of the friendly staff the gym is always clean and never too cramped or busy

Am a bit nervous of the gym environment, but made an appointment with Josh who was recommended to me following a recent injury. I initially booked a one month gym pass but will be renewing it as I was very pleasantly surprised. The gym was spacious and not at all intimidating (as I thought it would be).

I booked a 1-1 session with Josh who I found to be incredibly supportive and talked me through the exercises and the reasons behind them. He was very knowledgeable (I believe a Sports Therapist/Strength Coach/PT) and was happy to write me a programme to follow at the gym in my own time using an interactive app that he could monitor, however, as I am not confident in my own ability either in the gym or with technology I have decided to book more 1-1 sessions with Josh for now and am very happy to leave him a glowing review.

The whole gym experience has been much better than I had expected. It was spacious and clean and there was much more equipment available than I had expected.

I am feeling stronger and healthier already. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend JD Swindon, and especially Josh, to others.

Thank you Josh - you genuinely have made a difference to my physical ability.

Well what can i say…..After the sudden closure of Kiss gyms and the opening of JD gyms Swindon. There was not a second thought needed. Joined and have been here nearly a year. The 24hr policy is great, ample parking, great facilities (changing room, studio’s for cardio and the sauna’s great). Staff are fantastic, especially Josh, who goes over and beyond!!
It’s a must for anyone from first time beginners to seasoned athletes. Centrally located so easy to get to.

I've been going to this gym for nearly a year now, all staff are really nice , good environment and enough machines to complete a good workout without waiting around.

Was a bit apprehensive when starting a new gym, but one of the PT’s there helped me feel more comfortable, Josh Ricketts was so helpful, have even started using him as a PT now. Would highly recommend

I moved over to JD when it opened from another gym and haven’t been disappointed.

There are plenty of classes and the fitness studio is large and air conditioned. There’s no booking system (which I prefer) and finding space has never been a problem.

The instructors are great but a special shout out for Lorraine who aces it

Seriously a very good gym! Staff and PTs are great! The equipment range is decent, though there’s one or two things they could do with more of. Good range of machines and free weights.

Downsides:
- no bags on the gym floor policy, so you end up carrying shoes/belt/notepad/water/phone/straps and tripping over other people’s because you can’t put it in a bag.
- no cleaning stations

Other than that, very happy at this gym and really quite surprising that it’s so affordable!

Josh at JD gym has allowed me to ensure I am getting the most out of my training with the personal training sessions which i have multiple times a week. I used to struggle a lot with my form and ordering the exercises to get the maximum gain from it and with my sessions with Josh we work on these areas.

Josh has a deep knowledge of rehab and conditioning along with exercise and muscle strengthening and is also very supportive and quick to respond to any questions throughout the week. The social media posts on various platforms on various training techniques are also very informative and help me to continue to progress.

Saturday morning BodyCombat is one of the highlights of my week. Such high-energy fun, sweat, and fitness!

The sound system is good, the air con is good in the studio (not the gym floor) and the instructors are awesome

The JD Gym in Swindon is a large and well-equipped gym with an excellent studio for classes. I have done Les Mills Body Combat classes for many years, but the best run and most motivating combat classes by far are those run by Lorraine Collins. Lorraine is such an inspiring and motivating instructor, and testament to that is the fact that at least 20 members who regularly do body combat followed her to JD from our previous gym. Didn't know if was possible to have so much fun when exercising!

JD Gym Swindon is fantastic! The staff are always friendly, helpful, and professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere every time I visit. The equipment is top-notch, with a great range of machines and free weights, perfect for all types of training. The gym is spacious, clean, and has everything you need to smash your fitness goals. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a brilliant gym experience!

I'm leaving this review as my friends and I were talking about a review that was previously left recently regarding the team talking to a man who was using the equipment dangerously. I witnessed a situation which I believe could be same and I want to defend and applaud the team for their actions.
Last night I witnessed a man balance a gym bench on the smith machine bar and then laid on it to do an exercise with a barbell. Clearly an accident waiting to happen and also risking those around.
2 managers approached and quite rightly stopped the man from completing the exercise. Listening in when I heard one of the managers trying to explain the danger of the situation, the man was debating and trying to argue that he has done the exercise elsewhere and wanted to continue to do it. The manager was trying to explain the dangers and also the damage that could be caused to the equipment and the potential for further issues to members using that equipment after. The man continued to debate the issue at which point the manager showed the man the correct piece of equipment to use specifically for the exercise. At this point the man went to use the other piece of equipment leaving the managers to tidy up what he had set up on the smith machine.
Quite rightly the team have done what is correct, I also know from running my own company the responsibilities of safety and do not envy the team at JD Gyms with how some of the members try and treat the place.
I have seen a few people mention cleanliness, I have trained in a number of gyms for many years and this gym is very clean, I witness the whole team cleaning the equipment all be it at the quieter times of the day. I asked the manager about the cleaning sprays at first as I was used to them in my previous gym, when he explained that where equipment is sprayed incorrectly it can cause rust and damage to moving parts it made sense and they are focused on trying to keep the equipment in the best working condition possible. If your worried about who has been on equipment why not use a sweat towel like people have for years.
The gym is clean, tidy and has a fantastic atmosphere, the team are great and I have spoken with Ian on a number of occasions and he has always said he is very lucky to have a team that care so much. The whole team are friendly, work hard and have pride in the gym.
Sorry rant over but I felt it needed to be said what a great job they all do, please keep up the great work.

I've been a member of a number of gyms and I find classes really motivate me. The studio at JD is great, a really good size and plenty of equipment. And a range of top instructors, my favourite being Lorraine, who has helped me stay active and strong for many years.

JD Gyms Swindon is a Fantastic gym that has created a very positive scene in the Swindon fitness industry. The gym is ran brilliantly by the managers Ian & Jag who are very professional and ensure it is maintained correctly. The team create a positive atmosphere for the members which is very important and help people when needed. There is plenty of top equipment to use even during the busy periods. There is a great buzz every time I go to JD Gyms. A strong 10/10 for me and I highly recommend!
