Jd gyms is wonderful . I was so lazy and since I joined I’ve actually been wanting to get out of bed and to go . I recommend this gym to a lot of people! Once you join , you never want to leave

It is probably the best gym in the…
It is probably the best gym in the Widnes area. Use to be a member and only left to use another gym down the road, which if I'm honest is not very good. Begins with T and ends with a T. But they have a belt squat machine and pendulum squat which I need to bring up my quads. Get these in JD gym in Widnes and I'll be back!

Really good
Real good, and train with my good friend. Everything is very good and good selection of classes. Lots of space. Could fit in more weights machines, although the ones they have are good. I like the good sauna and my friend said JD are knocking through to next door to install a swimming pool. I hope this is true as that would be very good too.

Nice gym I enjoy training there but…
Nice gym I enjoy training there for the most part. Just wish the air con circulated the air a bit better. Often walk in to a gym that’s too hot and the air smells stale.
They occasionally leave the front sliding doors open so it must be something they’re aware of.

Good gym no stress
I think JD is by far the most uncomplicated gym to join as I can stop or freeze it whenever I want and I'm not stuck in any contract. Good community vibe at the Widnes gym and it shows. Staff care a lot and seem proactive keeping the place tidy. Christine's classes are the best

Widnes branch showers smell awful
Widnes branch showers smell awful, and whoever did the floor tiling wants sacking...water pooling everywhere...not very hygienic...
Gym is ok. Could do with a bit more hardware for the cables..ie ropes, handles.

Hello Andrew, thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are disappointed to hear how your JD Gyms experience has been effected by the cleanliness standards in the shower area. With regards to cleaning, we do have our team going around the gym keeping on top of cleaning regularly, but if you think there is something they've missed please do feel free to email the Manager on Widnes@jdgyms.co.uk so that the team can prioritise certain areas more often.
Regarding the quantities of small equipment/ cable accessories, the team will work with our suppliers to ensure the damaged pieces are replaced as soon as possible, however if they are not safe to use, they will remove them from the gym floor and replace when the new pieces arrive.

I usually don't like gyms BUT…
I usually don't like gyms as they're usually busy, lots of people on stuff, who sometimes leave things messy about the place. I joined JD Gym in widnes hesitantly as I didn't have a good experience at the other local gyms. Now admittedly, it is busy, but well looked after. The staff member Jamey or James has been very helpful and reassured me that theres always staff on available even overnight to help me whether I need to ask for an alternative exercise if machines are in use, if the changing rooms need a tidy or if I just need someone to wipe down a bench before I use it. I always ask and there's always someone happy on hand to help with things like this which helps with my anxiety. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere and clean environment

Our experience of joining JD Gym Widnes.
My husband and I were dealt with by James. He made us feel very welcome and was so helpful when it came to completing our membership. He gave us a tour of the gym and it's facilities and explained everything to us. He was professional at all times and very encouraging. Overall a very positive experience. Thank you James your help was really appreciated.

Fantastico
I only go in for a shower as it saves me on the gas and lecky….lol. Only joking, I use the sauna too to relax while thinking about training. My brain gets a workout thinking about my complex workout routine that I will never do. I’ll start training one day, but not today as I’m off to buy a Beef n Mustard sandwich from M&S

Wow! What a review, we are loving the fact that Widnes gets a 5* rating essentially for the shower and sauna....not forgetting the mental workout you have when thinking about your physical workout!
I am sure the team in Widnes will be happy knowing they are helping you save enough on your gas and electric so you can afford a beef and mustard sandwich from M&S (we are jealous and hungry now) 😉
Hopefully, we will see you on the gym floor at some point as well😊

Liked variety. Disliked how busy it was at 6am, can't get on equipment. App needs to tell us how many people are in there before we attend.

We’re afraid it's true, our gyms are very popular and can become busy especially at peak times, but this does fluctuate at different times of the day and night. To make the most of the space where possible, though, we are always looking to expand and improve our facilities. Just as we are with our app, we do have plans to develop our app further in the future.
In the meantime, if you cannot get on your favoured piece of equipment, please do not hesitate in asking one of our team for an alternative workout option.

Wouldn't go anywhere else
I've been here for a few years now and never been disappointed. It's always clean, you always see a staff member with a spray and a cloth. The classes are great, love Christine's spin classes and the zumba sessions. Staff are always friendly, you can even ask for a refresher on equipment. James was particularly helpful. Even the cleaners at the end of the day are lovely and chatty. Good equipment choice, the studio does shut at 10pm though which I wish it closed at 11pm because the late evening seems to be the quietest time but understandable. My only criticism is that I'd like the showers to be a bit hotter during busy periods and maybe for some more afternoon classes during lunchtime but other than that, I wouldn't go anywhere else, great gym.

My wife and I joined a week ago
My wife and I joined a week ago, every time we go to the gym. We spot a different bit of kit, my personal high light was the hack squat. I have not seen that bit of kit for years, well impressed.
