We have been using Kelley Transit for 25+ years. There has been an occasional glitch over that time period but nothing major. The office staff we deal with are very helpful and the drivers are great... もっず芋る

The origins of the company date back to 1860, when Irish immigrant Edward Kelley started a part-time hauling business in Connecticut. Well before the age of the automobile (or truck or bus), the hauling was done by horses. Kelley’s horses were also supplied to the Torrington Fire Department. Trucks eventually replaced the horses, and over the years the company branched out to three divisions—coal/fuel, livery and busing. Three generations of the Kelley family owned and operated the business, and the trucking and fuel/coal divisions eventually were dissolved. The family focused its attention on the remaining division--passenger transportation. In 2005, after 145 years of continuous operation, the Kelley family sold the business to John and Corinne Nason. John Nason has 30 years in the passenger transportation business, with extensive experience with transit contracts, paratransit operations, and transit project start-ups around the country. Today, although the company continues to proudly operate from Torrington, Connecticut, our service extends well beyond our area. We can take you anywhere within the U.S. or Canada. Our focus is on you, the customer, whether you’re a large company, a public entity, or an individual. Our professional, friendly, knowledgeable staff can assist you in planning your travel needs from start to finish.

We was on vacation with my father

We was on vacation with my father. As we are tourists we've asked the driver to remind us once we came to our bus stop.

Unfortunately, he forgot to do that and we've missed a lot of time and money to get back:(

Of course, it was a favour, but.. please be more attentive...

I wasn't on the bus but asked for feedback. Over all the experience was good. The drivers were awesome. Only problem was the WiFi didn't work and they had to make many bathroom stops, due to the fact that the bus bathroom was for urination only...

The bus had a weak battery which had to


The bus had a weak battery which had to be known before sending the bus to pick us up. There was smoke coming from the vents in between the windows. The bus driver was late picking us back up. There was a leak in the roof of the bus which caused water to seep into the cabin. The bus battery died while at a rest stop which caused us to be stuck there for 3-4 hours until the issue was resolved which in turn caused me to miss work. The overall experience was horrible. I would never book a charter with them ever again!!!

The above are factually incorrect or entirely fabricated statements.
* Smoke being referred to above is condensation from Air Conditioner when it turned to defrost(Driver informed the group then and there).
* Bus driver was not late. The group was informed of DOT regulations about hours of service at time of booking and days before the trip.
* There are two references above of a weak battery which are blatantly false statements. The starter motor had an issue which was rectified.
* Group was offered a fair recompense despite our policy, which customer signed off on, that confirms we are not responsible for mechanical issues.
* This trip was on Saturday September 1st returning early morning on Sunday September 02nd at around 3 to 4 AM from Buffalo, NY to Hartford, CT so the veracity of missing work(which maybe true) cannot be authenticated either way if you return 4 AM or 8 AM(even though it has nothing to do with this reservation).

On the flip side we(Kelley Transit Company) sent a full sized motor coach with a lavatory and other amenities as a complimentary upgrade. Whereas the customer had requested a 30 passenger shuttle for 30 passengers with no restroom, which was done, after getting quotes for bigger buses and settling for the cheapest option.

From our initial call to Kelley Transit with Orman, that was informative and pleasant, to the timely and friendly driver, Mohd, at who our extended family liked SO much they collected a second tip for him.

Kelley Transit has become like family with the care the took helping us get to our family reunion!

Kelley transit has provided us exceptional service from booking, rates, payments for our family reunion for the last 2 years. The team has become like family to all 45 of us traveling south with the great service we have received. Our drivers have been great safely getting us to our destination with a comfortable ride. I highly recommend Kelley to all they have made doing business with a huge group an ease. Thank you Kelley Transit from the Jernigan Family!!

Our bus broke down and we were stranded


Our bus broke down and we were stranded for 4 hours at a rest stop. The driver told us they were sending a mechanic and another us and that we would leave when the first one showed up. This was not the case. We had to wait well past the time the driver initially told us was the latest we would leave which caused significant problems for our group communicating with parents of our student passengers.

Additionally, the DVD player wasn't working.

I have used Kelley Transit for over a decade

I have used Kelley Transit for over a decade and they have always proven to be the best value when pricing trips. Their service is excellent and I have never had a problem on any trip I've taken with them. The drivers are knowledgeable about our destination (generally NYC) and dropoffs and pickups have been smooth. There are a few buses in the fleet that are older - we recently had a trip where the air-conditioning was a little fritzy and the DVD system didn't work but we survived getting to and from New York without a movie. I have two upcoming trips booked with Kelley and I will continue to use their service. Highly recommend with 4.5 stars!
