Juddering MG HS Trophy 73 plate
Purchased an MG HS Trophy 73 plate, petrol March 25. A judder was apparent from the offset but has become increasingly worse. Had faith initially that I'd bought a car under warranty so the issue wouldn't be long term (very naive!). The dealer had the car back to investigate the issue on 4 occasions- reported beforehand at first the Service, August 25 too but this wasn't documented and I was asked to rebook it in when they had more time to spend on it.
First occasion they did not identify a fault and sent back with no action.
Second occasion identified fault, replaced spark plugs, issue still present.
Third occasion, fault identified and replaced fly wheel. Still not resolved.
Fourth occasion fault identified but the response this time is that it's "a characteristic of the car" despite the engineer highlighting to the technical team that "it almost feels like there is a delay with the turbo kicking in"; quite clearly acknowledging themselves that it isn't driving well.
Now stuck with a car with a judder which is becoming increasingly worse, also now lacking power, lagging. On one occasion the judder was persistent for 7 miles, even when stationary, leading me to cancel my working day and return home mid journey. Dangerous to drive.
Following guidance from Citizen's Advice- now having to pay for an independent assessment elsewhere to enable me to (hopefully!) seek a refund. Otherwise stuck with a poor quality vehicle.
Absolute ball ache. Battle throughout with no accountability from the dealer or MG Technical Team.
Records shared by the dealer following the final visit do not match the recorded conversation between the dealership and MG Technical Team. MG Technical Team (the "experts") commented "not a lot I can offer here remotely" and in response to it being a suggested trait of the model, "I'm happy if you're happy"- reassuring advice from the "experts" who have the final say on the 20 grand I spent on one of their products.
Very disappointing. Would not recommend. No signposting, no guidance- just not their problem apparently!

As part of our investigation, we also road tested other vehicles of the same or similar specification, which displayed the same driving characteristics without any identified faults.
