A rather easy-to-use tool that allows quite a bit of creativity in creating web apps. The customer support has been the best part about Knack. Whenever I have questions in developing my app or better understanding the platform the response I get is always timely and extremely helpful!

If you are considering building anything beyond a very basic application on Knack.com, think twice.

Our experience with Knack has been an absolute disaster.

The platform is riddled with bugs, instability, and constant breaking issues that make it nearly impossible to build or maintain anything sophisticated at scale. Their database architecture feels fragile, and once your application grows in complexity, the cracks start showing everywhere. Features randomly stop working, workflows break, and performance becomes unreliable.

What makes it worse is the complete lack of trust and transparency from the company itself.

Knack allowed us to build an entire production application on their platform and then dramatically changed pricing without meaningful notice. We went from paying roughly $100/month to nearly $700/month overnight. By that point, you are effectively trapped because migrating away from a deeply integrated database application is a massive undertaking.

That business model feels predatory.

The company continuously promises improvements, roadmap features, and platform upgrades that either never materialize or arrive half-baked. Their roadmap and release announcements often feel more like marketing than reality.

If you are building a hobby app or something extremely simple, maybe it works. But if you are planning to build a serious operational platform, ERP, CRM, or anything mission critical, I strongly recommend avoiding Knack entirely.

The instability, pricing unpredictability, and lack of confidence in the platform are simply not worth the risk.

I built a fully custom ERP/SCM system in Knack for a niche industry (explosives) where there are literally zero out of the box solutions that fit; and even if there were, the budget wouldn't allow it. With a background in programming and systems analysis, I took Knack and pushed it probably further than most people would attempt. We're talking product lifecycle management, supply chain tracking, compliance documentation, pricing, labeling, the whole nine yards, all running on Knack.
Is it perfect? No. There are some page and view limitations I'm still wrapping my head around, and every now and then I hit a wall that makes me scratch my head. But honestly, for what this platform lets you do without writing a single line of backend code, I'm genuinely impressed. The API is solid, the import tools work well for bulk operations, and the builder gives you enough flexibility to make something that actually fits your business instead of forcing your business to fit the software.
Would I do it again? Absolutely. No regrets. If you've got the patience to learn the platform and a clear vision of what you need, Knack can take you a lot further than you'd expect.

Knack helped bring multiple spreadsheets into one interactive system. Reding error and speeding up our operations. It was easy to learn and support has ben available readily when required.

Best !! Feature loaded. Easy to build. Easy to integrate and use. We have been using knack for quite a sometime and found it flawless. Definitely best in industry. No competition is even close to knack

We are new to Knack (just a few months in), but we have been busy rummaging through the belly of the beast. At first, it seemed that Knack may not be able to comply with (all) the design goals we had in mind for the first app we were transferring from C****o to Knack.
After delving deeper into Knack, we found solutions to each and every issue so far (using Knack's API abilities). And to make matters even better, many of Knack's typical offerings gave us pause for thought: we have eagerly grabbed these options to create an even better app than we had visualized initially, and now we will build 2 more apps using Knack!

I've been using Knack for 5 years to host a public database of inquests and the law governing them. I tried a few databases before selecting Knack. It has the 'just right' combination for non-programmers like me: it is simple, flexible *and* powerful. It has also been completely reliable over the years. Kudos to the development team for maintaining its focus on an excellent product, and avoiding the calcifying featuritis which characterizes so many other online databases.

I've been using Knack for over 14 years now. One of the things I love about Knack is the continuous improvements that are being made each year, months, and weeks. Support has been another great part of being a Knack user. Great job Everyone!

Awesome flexible product that allows me to easily create all of the data related tools, forms, enrollment systems, progress monitoring systems, while tying our entire district together to work to support student achievement. I’ve used Knack for several years to build internal tools across different businesses and nonprofits. It’s flexible, reliable, and powerful without requiring a traditional development team. The new builder interface is a big improvement — faster, cleaner, and easier to work with.

What really stood out was the support. I had concerns about how JavaScript would function in the new version, and the team was quick to respond. They listened, followed up, and made it clear they’re invested in supporting serious builders. That kind of responsiveness matters.

There are a lot of "low code, no code" programs out there but Knack absolutely lives up to the promise! It's highly intuitive, very powerful and their support -even the chatbot- is outstanding! With Knack, you can have a professional app built within days, entirely on your own, because there are videos, fully built apps you can install to see real examples, chat support that ACTUALLY provides smart, easy-to-understand instructions, and a responsive support team committed to ensure you never get stuck! I've tried other programs and because I am not a Developer, I had to have an intuitive, truly no code product. I'm happy to fully evangelize Knack because that's exactly what it delivers! My experience with it has been excellent and I was able to provide a great app to my Users in a matter of days!
