I don’t normally leave negative experience reviews but unfortunately I have been compelled to in this situation & feel others need to be aware that there can be a negative experience & be aware of my own experience which should not be invalidated.

I am a South Asian woman & attended Laser Couture for a few years. Emma was friendly, which makes this extremely painful to write but the damage to my skin & how this has been handled has left me devastated.

In 2023, I developed laser burns & pigmentation damage on my forehead/hairline, bikini line, & other treated areas. Despite repeatedly raising concerns, I was reassured the marks would fade “within months” or a year, they never did. They darken in summer, flake in winter, & makeup sits poorly on the damaged texture. My skin tone on my forehead looks uneven & discoloured & very noticeable in certain lighting. Its affected me psychologically especially on my face. My last appointment with Emma was in 2024.

At the time, I didn’t realise a blister on my forehead was a laser burn. Another clinic specialising in South Asian skin confirmed it was laser-induced & caused by unsuitable settings for my skin tone. They said any responsible practitioner would acknowledge damage immediately & resolve by fixing the situation fairly in a timely manner, not reassure for months while nothing is done.

I kept Emma informed throughout. My mum, who is seriously ill, & my fiancé witnessed the distress this caused. My mum also personally spoke to Emma to resolve this. Emma initially said she wanted to resolve this “in-house” with me & my mum with a solicitor she knew & would contact her insurance, neither happened. Solicitors confirmed I would normally have been contacted by insurance if a claim had been submitted. Emma also said she did not want me to go to a solicitor because it would “close her business,” which raised serious concerns about whether proper liability insurance is in place. Communication then slowed and stopped entirely. Until I recently complained officially again with the help of a professional & advice from a solicitor.

On 15/10/2025, I formally requested full copies of all treatment records. Despite providing ID as requested, she has still not provided them & ignored my latest email for 14+ days. Because of this, I now face reporting the business to Trading Standards & pursuing small claims court even though I’m going to struggle financially & my parents who may have to help financially , adding to my distress, on top of my families distress & my mums serious illness. This is putting me in a dark place.

This situation has caused severe depression, anxiety, & self-consciousness. With a wedding coming up, the damage affects how I dress, style my hair, & feel in photos. My mum’s illness & my own health struggles make this even more overwhelming. I need treatment to repair my skin but cannot currently afford it. My forehead flakes, my hairline is thinner on one side, & my bikini line is visibly marked.

This review reflects my honest experience, supported by photos, GP comments, & independent confirmation from another practitioner. Emma was friendly at first, but the lack of accountability, broken promises, prolonged delays, refusal to provide records, & complete absence of resolution has left me utterly devastated.

South Asian women, please be cautious. My experience has caused permanent skin damage, severe psychological distress, & no resolution. I urge others to speak up immediately if they experience any laser-related injury.

I want to make it clear that I will not give up on this. I am passionate about standing up for myself, & I strongly believe that better accountability & care should be shown. I hope Emma reflects on this & does the right thing moving forward. Do better!!! Do the right thing.

I am sharing this review as my honest experience & to warn others to speak up immediately if they experience any skin damage. Please do not ignore signs of injury or rely solely on reassurance that it will “fade,” because sometimes it does not.
