Purchasing a new build property can be stressful, but working with Lawson West Solicitors was an absolute pleasure. From our initial quote right up to receiving the keys from the developer on 31st july, their services were outstanding.

I tasked Lawson West to check over 2 sets of updated terms and conditions I had written, with the help of 3 different AI's, for the business. Oreva did a great job in speaking to me to find out more about the business after reading through the docs, made quite a few changes and listened to me when I explained parts of the business that may not have worked with some of the changes. Considering there was a there was about 6500 words across the 2 documents, Oreva did a great job. Thank you. 100% would recommend.

If I could leave no stars I would !

My experience with Lawson West has been extremely disappointing. At every stage, I felt poorly represented and let down by a service that did not reflect professionalism, fairness, or integrity.

The work carried out was not only below the standard I expected, but I was also overcharged for time and actions that did not benefit me. In fact, I felt that Lawson West took advantage of my company’s increased offer, something they told me I would benefit from, yet the outcome showed no such benefit. Instead, it left me feeling that their priorities were financial rather than focused on my best interests.

What concerned me most was the attempt to make a refund conditional on me agreeing not to leave negative feedback. This was only withdrawn after I pointed out that such a condition is inappropriate and cannot be used to restrict a client’s right to share their honest experience. No professional firm should behave this way.

Overall, I felt unsupported, overcharged, and misled. The service lacked transparency, accountability, and basic fairness. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Lawson West.

I cannot recommend Lawson West Solicitors highly enough, and in particular João Madeira, who represented me throughout my Employment Tribunal claim.

From the very beginning, João was professional, approachable and incredibly knowledgeable. He took the time to explain every stage of the process clearly, always answered my questions honestly, and ensured I understood my options before I made any decisions.

Employment disputes can be extremely stressful, but João’s calm, pragmatic and supportive approach gave me confidence throughout. He negotiated tirelessly on my behalf, kept me updated at every stage, and ultimately secured a settlement that I was very pleased with.

I would also like to give special thanks to Devin, the paralegal who supported my case. Between João and Devin, communication was always excellent. They were both approachable, responsive and made sure I was kept informed throughout the process, which made a huge difference during what was a very stressful time.

I would first like to make a very special thanks to Joao Madeira.
Joao, and the Lawson West as a firm was the ONLY one to actually consider my employment case properly without charging additional fees. It was for an employment tribunal. Initially I was ‘out of time’ and was advised they could not take it on a no win no fee basis but would reconsider if I managed to get the case over the line from that. I managed to. The case then, as promised, was considered again, and taken on a no win no fee basis. Communication was excellent throughout. Incredibly polite and professional. I was happy to just settle the case and Joao handled all the negotiations. What started off as something very stressful for me turned into something purely administrative. All I had to do was answer emails and take a few calls at pre agreed dates/times. Joao took that stress away from me. I don’t know if I could’ve managed to get the same settlement amount by myself. So, although the fee is hefty (but completely average in the market!), the stress removed is all worth it.
