Mark has been great in helping me improve my techniques and understand the mechanics of swimming. Each lesson is productive and I end up applying his teachings in my solo swims.

Mark is a great teacher; friendly, witty and always filled with enthusiasm and precise with his observations, meaning there's a sense of progress with each lesson.

As for the facilities, the pool is clean and heated and lessons are in a dedicated lane, so no disruptions.

The app is pretty convenient to book lessons on so there's no hassle when it comes to picking a date/time at any time of the day.

Mark is a fantastic coach with bags of energy and enthusiasm. He’s been great at helping me finesse my technique and improve my stroke.

Mark is an absolutely fantastic teacher who in just 5 lessons has already taught me so much and helped me become more confident in the water. I admittedly felt a bit embarrassed learning to swim as an adult at the start but a few lessons with Mark and those worries have disappeared, he is very patient, funny and makes you feel at ease during the lessons.

For anyone who has reservations like I did and wants to learn to swim I would definitely recommend Mark!

I have had three classes so far and it has been a great experience. Mark is patient and supportive. He helped to pair me with another learner and we have grown a lot more confident in the water. Also the pool facility is great. Clean and warm. I look forward to having more classes with Mark.

Mark is a fantastic instructor - I don't think I would have progressed as quickly with anyone else. He understand your individual needs and figures out the best learning path for you. He is also extremely patient and takes time to explain all the concepts. Every class is a great mix of lots of practice with bits of theory that helped me understand the key principles

I'm a beginner swimmer with zero skill in the water (literally knew nothing!), and from our very first lesson Mark made me feel relaxed and comfortable and got me doing the basics in the water. He's a fantastic teacher and breaks down the core fundamentals of swimming and its techniques in easy to understand chunks and will then build it all back up again with you over your lessons. Every lesson I can feel myself getting more confident in the water and achieving my goal of being able to swim. This would not have been possible if it wasn't for Mark's personal, patient and kind nature.

All the classes are really fun and it's the one thing I now really look forward to in the week. Learn to Swim has a brilliant partnership with Fitness First Cottons, the gym staff are very friendly and the facilities (changing rooms and showers) are modern and clean. The pool is a very good size (especially for learners), nice temperature and just generally a nice place to swim as it doesn't get too crowded and you'll have the luxury of your own lane in the pool.

I decided to take swimming lessons to be more confident in the water and learn better technique. I cannot be more grateful that I stumbled upon Learn to Swim. Mark is a methodical, knowledgeable and patient teacher. He was very good at making me feel at ease. He kept the classes fun and interactive. He also taught me a number of valuable skills (in addition to specific strokes) that could help me navigate the water better. I feel like I’ve improved leaps and bounds in just a few classes. Although I started out a bit apprehensive I look forward to every class now. That’s a sign of a good teacher!

The facilities itself are well maintained. You get a 20m heated pool, which is clean, with access to good locker rooms and showers in the gym.

Mark is very patient and will adapt his teaching style to you when and where needed. He is truly passionate about swimming and has helped me and my husband progress even if we came in at different levels. I was a complete beginner and I can now comfortably swim and that was my objective. My husband has progressed his technique and is thrilled if the results. Thank you again Mark for being such a great instructor.

Mark is an excellent coach! I've made so much improvement in just 4 lessons; I feel much more confident in the water now.

Mark is an excellent trainer and has been a real pleasure to work with. He is really great at keeping his lessons fun and dynamic, but at the same time challenging. I’ve drastically improved as a swimmer with Mark and I’m much more confident swimming in the sea now.

I have had six swimming lessons with Coach Mark Trude. Initially I just wanted to book one session 1:1 with Learn to Swim Limited to overcome my fear of water (due to long time no swimming), and continue to swim ‘my inefficient breaststroke style’…After taking the first lesson with Mark, I not only could swim in the pool without fear but also interested in learning more about swimming.

Mark is very knowledgeable, patient, encouraging and professional. He builds up my confidence in the water, and makes his lessons both easily-understood and achievable. After taking another five swimming lessons, now I am able to swim to doing proper breaststroke, backstroke and basic front crawl. Thank you, Mark!

I wanted to write a few words to say how happy I am with Mark’s swimming lessons. The lessons have a variety of techniques which is helping me with my body coordination especially when it comes to the breathing part and I feel much more confident in the water. I knew that learning how to swim as an adult would be a difficult challenge but Mark techniques and encouragement are making this much easier than I previously thought. Mark is kind and patient and very responsive to any request and I cannot thank him enough.

I took on a newbie offer and then a cluster of four lessons as I had to quickly learn how to swim before my holiday.

I came in super apprehensive as my relationship with water was minimal and swimming was alien to me. After researching around I think I probably made the best choice with this course as not only did I learn how to swim (in 5 lessons) but I was taught front crawl, breathing in and out of water, floating, swimming techniques, good and bad habits and was given the confidence I need to be able to swim in open water.

I can't thank Mark enough. Something that I've put off for years was fixed within such a short amount of time. His patience and learning style allowed for trust and professionalism that not only put me at ease but made abolishing one of my phobias an enjoyable task. WOULD RECOMMEND. And once I'm back I may take up swimming as one of my frequent weekly exercise trips.

Mark Trude is second to none as a swimming instructor. He is more like a personal professional swimming coach who will understand and address your every need make you a good swimmer from absolutely no swimmer. He never leaves the water and always with you while you are in the pool.

I always had the chance to learn how to swim earlier in life when I was young but I had that fear of drowning which made me super scared of water. With Mark's guidance he has given me the confidence and belief in not being afraid and therefore has taken the But just after few lesson with Mark I am able to float on my back and front in where I normally struggle and no longing having that fear of drowning.

I'm very happy to write a strong positive recommendation for Learn to Swim. I'm a beginner, and am much further along where I thought I would be after a few lessons - I'm quite close to being able to swim! Mark is professional, friendly, patient and listens well. The instruction is 1-1, he takes the time to explain as well as demonstrate technique. He also responds to email queries very quickly. I would recommend Learn to Swim for both beginners as well as non-beginners who want to improve on their technique. Also the setting is great, with a dedicated lane in a 20m heated indoor pool.

Mark has been a great 1-on-1 swimming instructor. I went to his lessons with the intention on improving my ability across the 4 major strokes and he has been going through them one at the time, identifying my flaws, showing the proper technique and trying to drill it in. He has given me notes on the major points of the lessons as well so that I've been able to review outside of the classes. I would recommend it to anyone trying to improve their swimming technique :)

Swimming is a very enjoyable and life saving sport, and as any other sports, it needs to be learnt. As a complete beginner, I was fortune enough to find Mark who is a very professional instructor with a friendly approach. Mark explains the move and technique very well, then demonstrates it in the water to make sure that you can do it properly. I did not believe that I could float front and back smoothly and confidently from the first lesson and by the third lesson, I could literally swim. I highly recommend Mark.

Mark has been an excellent swimming instructor for my husband and myself. We are both beginners and at different levels of our swimming journey. Mark has been very methodical, attentive, patient and has helped us lay a good foundation of how to swim. He helped us understand the importance of posture + propulsion, helped us in figuring out how rhythm, amplitude and force are key swimming levers you can control. We are learning how to breathe while swimming, skulling, how to stand from back/front swim and very key life SOS skills.
