Very good tour, Maybe centre it around Cambrai to cut down on wasted time. A big thank you for allowing a personal visit at Bellicourt. Two men buried who were best friends and related to my grand mother. All in a great tour!!!

A first class effort to make interesting what is no longer there. Good explanation of the topography and what happened there. Cemeteries made interesting; the grave of Wilfred Owen very emotional. Guide and Coach Staff faultless - good lads.

Excellent tour as usual. Last day we travelled a long way. Many felt it was too far and that we could have spent some time in Albert.

Nothing now remains of the Hindenburg Line in the landscape, except the canals, but seeing the site and the terrain is worth the trouble. The canals were worth the trip. The Military Cemeteries were more interesting than those on the Somme which are simply huge. Once more I suffered a coach breakdown.

A lot has been undertaken in a relatively short space of time. Well organised, presented, and informative

Problems with the coach meant we left Stop 24 an hour late, but it was repaired at our hotel in France, which is why only 3 stars. The tour was good and an included dinner was good and it also gave us a chance to socialise and make new friendships. This isn't possible on most of Leger's battlefield tours which seldom have included dinners so everyone has to find their own restaurants so it's much harder to socialise and get to know one another. It would be very beneficial if guides knew locations of public toilets as not everyone goes to restaurants with toilets; some, like me, have a stoma so the bags need to be emptied regularly, which is virtually impossible in the coach's toilets.

Excellent tour with an outstanding guide in Mark. Very detailed and immersive experience.

I booked this because of family history, my 2 x Great Uncle was killed in November 1917, his body has never been found but I went to see the memorial at Louverval. To my knowledge, no one else from the family has ever been. It was very informative but tiring, not a relaxing break like everyone thinks! The hotel was quite basic, though it was clean and tidy and a good bed for the nights. The "set menu" wasn't up to much, it would have been better not to have evening meals included or at least a choice. There is only a couple of fast food restaurants nearby so not the best position. I was a solo traveler and I really don't like having to pay a single supplement in this chain hotel/ motel because I wouldn't have to if I were in the UK. All in all, a great experience and I learnt some new information about WW1

A well arranged tour. Mark the guide was very knowledgeable and provided useful maps and notes to compliment the tour.

Our trip from Doncaster to the services for change of coach was good and it's a very slick operation. The main drivers were Chris and Rob and they were excellent. It was our first time on Irish ferries and it wasn't too bad (avoid the fish and chips!) The hotel in Albert was comfortable and clean as were the rooms and all the staff there were so friendly and helpful. The bonus was having 3 meals included 2 at the hotel and 1 at Le Tommy all were well cooked and delicious. Our tour guide was Mark Allen who certainly knew his facts for the trip but most of us felt that sometimes on the coach the talks were a bit too long so it was too much information all at once-perhaps break it up a little? I know this was only the second time for this particular trip but feel it could do with tweeking a bit as in comfort breaks and length of time between stops especially on the last afternoon. All in all we enjoyed this tour and we met some great people.

An excellent guide ,Mark Allen whose knowledge of this particular theatre of war made this tour very interesting. A special mention of our two drivers,Chris & Rob who had a difficult task in navigating down the narrowest of roads but always managed to get us where we should be on time. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who has an interest in this particular subject.

An excellent tour. My only thoughts against were the long days and the hotel could have been closer to most of the battlefields

Our tour guide, Andrew (Thornton) was excellent, knowledgeable, conscientious and courteous, while our drivers, Lorraine and Michael, were efficient, friendly and painstaking, particularly in keeping their coach clean, inside and out in what were, at times, difficult conditions. The staff at our hotel were polite and seemed to take a pride in their work, but the meals were somewhat disappointing, particularly the breakfasts, where the only hot food available was boiled eggs. (If you boiled them yourself!) Bar prices were also high.

This was a new tour and a very interesting one. The guide Andrew Thornton was excellent both for his knowledge and pleasant company. This was a full-on tour with some long days, but they were well split up by the various visits. (However maybe the aim should be to get back to the hotel by 6pm to allow a little more 'down time'). The museum visits were very good and the battlefield sites well explained. A highlight was our evening at Le Tommy, with its WW1 atmosphere, good food and fascinating recreations of trenches and dugouts. Lunchtimes in three of the interesting towns of Picardy were also good and well timed. A tour I would thoroughly recommend! The closing stages of WW1 are quite complex, but I feel I understand what happened a lot better now.
Fabulous, absolutely recommended and so well organised from start to finish. This is a new tour and Andrew Thornton certainly knew his stuff. Approachable and very kind. 5 stars for the bus crew, Mike and Lorraine (we won't mention the VERY narrow lane - but such a laugh). Be prepared for long days and it is tiring, but all abilities were catered for. Travellers do not need to worry about anything with a Leger Battlefield tour. If I could I would spend the rest of my life on these tours. Thank you.
