Our Story When Mat was 26, both his mum and dad were diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. He and his partner Jenna quickly realised that while medical care was essential, what his parents really needed was company—someone to spend time with, share experiences, and help them stay connected to their community. They needed someone like family when Mat and Jenna couldn’t be there. That’s how Like Family was born—to connect people with Social Carers who do more than just a job. They become a meaningful part of someone’s life, providing support, friendship, and a sense of belonging. Our community is built on trust, shared experiences, and genuine connection—whether it’s for an afternoon coffee, a walk in the park, or ongoing companionship. We also work closely with support coordinators and organisations to help them find the right Social Carer for NDIS participants and aged care clients, ensuring more poeple recieve the care and companionship they deserve.
