Trusting Linda Cars with my car was one of the worst decisions I've made.
I initially signed a consignment agreement with them, and the terms seemed reasonable. However, from the very beginning, communication was poor. Most of my messages were only answered after midnight, and they kept the car for an entire month before even listing it for sale.
They insisted on replacing the battery, even though I provided proof that it was less than six months old and still under warranty. They also pushed for a clutch replacement, which I strongly opposed. There was no way they could assess the condition of the clutch without removing it, and if they had done so, they would have discovered that it had been replaced only a few thousand kilometers earlier. They also insisted on polishing and detailing the car, which I accepted.
After six months, they still hadn't sold the car and eventually returned it to me. That's when the real nightmare began.
The interior was a complete mess. The seatbelts had been tucked inside the side panels, several original parts had been removed and never reinstalled, and the rear carpet was out of place. I had to remove the rear seat myself just to put the carpet back correctly. I also had to repair the driver's seatbelt myself just so I could drive the car.
The biggest surprise was that both the seat controls and the seat heaters no longer worked.
I reported the issues, and they sent a truck to collect the car. Two days later, they returned it with only the passenger seatbelt fixed. The seats were still completely inoperative. After countless messages and phone calls, they told me that repairing the seats was "not part of their responsibilities" and claimed they had never touched them. After that, they simply stopped answering my calls and messages and refused to take any responsibility.
I eventually had to take the car to another garage. The diagnosis confirmed that both original Recaro seats had been damaged. Linda Cars had completely ruined them.
There was no accountability and no customer service. The cost of repairing the damage exceeded any benefit of using their consignment service. Whatever their contract says about responsibility is meaningless if they simply refuse to honor it.
Looking back, it's no surprise they couldn't sell the car. They had damaged it themselves. They were unwilling to negotiate any alternative solution and only wanted to get rid of the car and walk away without taking responsibility for the damage they caused.
Reading other customers' complaints about their service and warranty now makes perfect sense. They seem careless with customers' vehicles and more interested in selling unnecessary repairs, such as battery replacements, than in taking proper care of the cars entrusted to them.
