We are relatively new to Trustpilot but have been active on eBay for many years - with 100% feedback and many positive reviews. You can also find us on Google Maps. We are a family run business providing specialist automotive services exclusively for the first-generation BMW Mini, also known as the R50, R52 or R53. These cars are such a treasure, our family have owned many over the years and our personal attachment and passion drives us to dedicate our expert resource to keeping them on the road for as long as possible. We specialise in the repair and remanufacturing of the Electro Hydraulic Power Steering Pump (EHPS). There is no issue we cannot fix, we stock every part, all meeting or exceeding the manufacturers original specification. Our service is delivered from our workshop located near Newark, Nottinghamshire. irstly

Great little pump

Product did exactly as it said on the tin, was fitted and is running smoothly, the car is transformed, the refund on the return took a little longer than expected, but Leon is clearly a busy man and eventually the transaction was completed, I would buy again if needed, excellent product.

Brilliant service and part quality

Brilliant service and part quality. Ordered the pump bundle and chose this company due to quality and ease of website and fact was UK based with contact details. Bundle arrived earlier than was promised by the express post expertly boxed and protected. The reservoir hose wasn’t in it as the pump box size wouldn’t accommodate without bending it and everything was done to get that to me likewise packaged by the next day. It couldn’t have been a better service and full refund given for the old pump. Not only that but a gift washer for the return fluid pipe was enclosed and a gesture refund of full express postage as the hose arrived the following day from the pump. What else could you ask for, well done LJ specialists and will certainly use again as my kids have 3 minis in total. Thanks again

Great service

Product arrived promptly and is working as it should (fitted by my mechanic and not myself).

Customer service was great, prompt replies when obtaining return shipping details and refund confirmation for exchanging old pump. Would recommend

Highly misleading seller: Supplied faulty part & withheld £140!!+surcharge!!


I strongly advise caution when dealing with this seller. I was supplied a faulty pump, which the seller incorrectly insisted was fully functional. Despite returning the item, the seller also kept my original core part and withheld the surcharge payment, which I found completely unacceptable.

The seller claimed he has "never had any faults" with his stock, which I find totally unbelievable. Looking at other recent reviews, another buyer has reported being sold a faulty pump just like I was. This clearly shows a pattern of supplying defective goods and then denying there is an issue.
The matter was only resolved after a long, stressful dispute with him and only afterwards eBay ruled in my favour and forced a full refund of the amount the seller unfairly deducted - £140!!! + surcharge!

In my opinion, this seller is highly untrustworthy. I have also observed what appears to be feedback manipulation, with negative ratings being removed or revised multiple times. Do not be misled by a high feedback score; my experience was a "War and Peace" struggle (just look at his reply!) to get a basic refund for a defective product.
I would not recommend this seller to anyone.
He has only paid the surcharge back to me today because of the reviews on how he has acted, 2 months later!
Also he slanders other businesses on Mini forums.

Please see my google reviews on maps as there are screen shots for proof (unlike his word salad replies).

My mechanic who fitted his faulty pump has been in the business for decades and fitting a hose on a pipe is almost impossible to over tighten and make oval as this seller states unbelievably to avoid any accountability!!! The replacement, from a reputable seller worked immediately, fitted by him.

He even tried his best to get this review removed! However he could not use his tricks he uses with Ebay on here and they ruled against him!

In summary i think you can see what type of person/seller/morals are with his disingenuous complex word salad replies alone!

For clarity, no refund was ever withheld in this transaction. The return and refund process was handled entirely through eBay’s Money Back Guarantee system and we followed that process exactly as required.

The reviewer suggests the refund took an unreasonable amount of time. As with all eBay returns, refunds are issued after the item has been returned and inspected. In this case the return was requested on 8 January, we approved the return immediately, issuing a prepaid label.

The reviewer did not dispatch the pump until 20 January and it was received by us on 22 January - two weeks after the return request was opened and approved.

Following inspection and testing, the refund was issued on 25 January, which was within three working days of the item being received.

During inspection we identified cosmetic damage (likely from fitting) and a damaged reservoir cap. The reservoir cap was replaced as it was unrepairable. The returned pump was tested using the same procedures applied to all units before dispatch and was found to be fully functional.

The reviewer complained that the pump was noisy - it is quite likely that the damaged inlet on the reservoir cap, which can only be attributed to over-tightening, allowed air to be sucked into the pump and cause the additional noise. The inlet on the reviewers pump had become oval in shape so would not mate correctly with the connecting hose which is circular.

In accordance with eBay’s return policy, deductions were applied to reflect the damage to the reservoir cap and general product reinstatement.

The reviewer subsequently opened a case to dispute the deduction. After reviewing the case, eBay confirmed we were not found at fault and our seller performance metrics were unaffected. The platform chose independently to reimburse the reviewer to close the case.

The review also refers to a “core surcharge” being withheld. This is incorrect. The item purchased was an outright pump sale (“No Exchange Needed”), meaning no exchange or core charge formed part of the original transaction.

Separately, we offered the reviewer the option to sell us their old pump for £20 for recycling purposes, which the reviewer accepted. The payment has been settled with the reviewer.

This review relates to a single transaction that the reviewer has now posted about across multiple platforms, including multiple reviews on Trustpilot.

Our Trustpilot profile was only created recently, which is why there are currently very few reviews here.

We have however been trading for many years and maintain a long-standing record of positive feedback across other platforms, including 100% positive feedback on eBay and consistently strong 5 star reviews from customers on Google.

We are often recommended within Mini owner club groups on Facebook where we actively help and support members with technical issues related to the Mini Steering System.

We take product quality and customer service very seriously and have supplied thousands of pumps over many years. In the rare event that a genuine issue occurs we work with customers to resolve it quickly and fairly, as reflected in other customer reviews.

We retain full records of the transaction, communications and testing process and are happy to provide them to Trustpilot if required.

Highly recommended.

Bought a mini pump but found a problem with it once fitted. Returned and Leon replaced it giving a reduced price to make up for the problem. No issues with the second one from him. Very good communication and extremely helpful. An excellent company to deal with and I would certainly highly recommend Leon and his company.
