Product is not fit for purpose, and customer service is unhelpful


I purchased the ANSWR Keratin Treatment Kit from Luxplus, and it was a complete waste of money. I followed the instructions precisely, but after the very first wash, my hair returned to its original frizzy, curly state with zero lasting results.

The product is clearly not fit for purpose. When I contacted Luxplus to request a refund under the Consumer Rights Act, they refused, hiding behind a "no satisfaction guarantee" and ignoring their legal obligations. Their customer service is dismissive and unhelpful.

Save your money and shop elsewhere. This company does not stand behind the products it sells.

Hidden Subscription Costs and Poor Customer Service

I recently ordered two products from Luxplus.co.uk, and while the initial purchase seemed straightforward, the aftermath has been incredibly frustrating.

The Issue: Forced Subscriptions
After receiving my items, I stopped closely monitoring my inbox since I was satisfied with the physical products. However, I soon discovered that a subscription membership had been added to my order without my explicit consent or knowledge. I did not select this option; it appears to have been automatically bundled into the checkout process.

Refund Refusal
When I contacted their customer service to explain that I never intended to sign up for a recurring fee and requested a refund for the £8.99 charge, they flatly declined. It is disappointing that a company is willing to lose a customer permanently over a small fee that the customer never agreed to in the first place.

Final Verdict
Adding paid memberships to a shopping cart without a clear "opt-in" is a deceptive practice that feels predatory.

Pros: Products arrived as described.

Cons: Hidden monthly fees

I would not touch this company again. Be very careful when checking out, or better yet, shop elsewhere to avoid the headache of unauthorized charges.

Avoid!!!

Avoid! I purchased a product in September 2024. I did not realise or it wasn’t explained clearly that I was also signing up for a monthly subscription of £8.99. Over £160 has been ‘taken’.

Reading the Reviews it appears I am not the only one been misled. Total Scam. Do not buy from this Company.

As an add on - I’m a Pensioner 70 years old. How about refunding the £160 that I unknowingly subscribed to?

Sneaky subscription

Avoid if possible. I like countless others unknowingly got signed up to a subscription service I did not sight up too.
The company is sneaky!
A tube of toothpaste ended up costing me £60 due to the hidden subscription.

Please be aware - Luxplus make cancelling membership difficult

Please be aware - Luxplus make cancelling membership very difficult!!!
I bought deodorant that I usually buy when abroad and I will definitely not do it again having had to spend ages trying to find how to cancel Luxplus membership.
They claimed to have an option to cancel under the membership tab but, after much searching on a couple of different occasions over a period of a few weeks (and into the payable first month!), I finally found the cancel tab in the small print.
Beware though, the cancellation is not complete until a good few steps have been completed so make sure to receive the cancellation confirmation.

Once your invoices has been paid, no further charges will be made, and your membership is now fully closed.

scammy and slow

They add membership into your basket without asking (I chose the "non member" price but that didn't matter). You have to cancel within 14 days or they charge you £9 , but they don't let you cancel within the first 24 hours. Also the shipping time is a lie, it's been 6 days and my parcel is still in the Netherlands.

The Member price is our discounted price available to all Luxplus members. As a member, you can save up to 80%, enjoy free shipping, and earn BeautyCash on your purchases.

If you’re new to Luxplus, you start with a 14-day free trial, giving you the chance to explore all membership benefits. After the trial, the membership renews automatically at £8.99 per month, and it continues until you decide to cancel. You can cancel at any time 😇

The Normal price is the option for customers who prefer not to have a membership. The normal price is higher than the member price but is often still lower than prices in many other stores. For non-members, shipping is £7.95, while members enjoy cheaper shipping.

From your order, we can see that the membership was selected so the discounted member benefits (including cheaper shipping) could be applied. We can also confirm that your membership has already been cancelled, so no further charges will occur 🙏

Regarding delivery, we understand the frustration with waiting. According to the tracking, your parcel is currently on its way and has an estimated delivery date of tomorrow, 21/03. Never received my item, still struggling to resolve it

Bought 6 items in January, they where for my mum, they never arrived and the communication process is way too long asking you to fill out a form. Avoid buying from that website, I regretted it! Too much time wasted on them and they don't even re - emburse you from wasting your time, and they expect you to do all the investigation work.👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

I was so pleased with my first order, I placed a second. Placed on Friday and arrived at parcelshop on Wednesday. The price was half of the UK price and delivery less than £3 from NL.

Horrible experience.

They take your money without sending anything.

I have placed an order 2 month ago and it never arrived. There is no customer service, they only have a repetitive chat box that submits tickets. I have been contacted after 10 days via email after submitting numerous tickets to ask for a refund.

I still have not received my refund after 2 months and I never received the order.

Wouldn’t recommend.
