I very rarely do reviews but this one is a pleasure to write! Our initial point of contact for our booking was Lucy at Luxury Trains who was so patient in dealing with all my questions in making arrangements to celebrate our daughter’s milestone birthday. The tickets were sent out promptly by Carol and along with Lucy both of them shared their personal experience of the train and their enthusiasm was so infectious! Nothing was too much trouble in order to make our day perfect and memorable.

As others have said in previous reviews the train, service, food and drink was impeccable and the staff including the Train Manager were so lovely coming around to ensure that everything was going smoothly (a special mention for Dylan our Steward who had a terrific sense of humour and looked after us so well). The singers were just a lovely touch and made the trip feel so festive.

We wanted a day for our daughter to remember…. in fact the day was memorable for all for all us, thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, we are so appreciative.

We enjoyed a fabulous day with six friends. Everything was first class the staff,food entertainment all made it a day to remember.

Our night was absolutely wonderful from when we arrived on the station and offered a glass of champagne, ushered into our cabin which took our breath away, to the attentive staff, the food, the wine, the entertainment. I could go on. This was by far the most perfect New Year’s Eve we have spent, ever. Yes I mean that. We really were completely blown away. Thank you so much

What a great day out, I was worried at first about 5 hours on a train, but what a day it was all over too soon. The staff were amazing and the booking team were so very helpful. the day was a special day for us and no effort was spared. I am so grateful for all the help we had and also the surprises we had along the way. I cannot recommend this enough. Thank you to everyone :)

It was a magical day travelling on a beautiful Pullman with a five star meal served along the way. The singers, musicians, and magicians were amazing and gave the event a party feel. Thank you for fulfilling my expectations.

A truly amazing and special experience! I came aboard with family for a Christmas celebration and we had a fantastic time, the drinks selection and food offering were fantastic, with plenty of free flowing champagne. The staff were 5 star, nothing was too much, always asking if we are ok and striving to make our experience special! We absolutely loved the entertainment onboard, my favourites being the three women singing and the magician! Thanks again for a fantastic day, we’ll be back again in the future.

What an amazing experience. I booked for the wife and I to do the bath Christmas train, and it didn’t disappoint. From point of booking with Carol, it was made simple and clear with very easy follow up communication. I was confident from that, that a good day would be had. Clear meeting location and details were received, and on arrival at the ticket office on the morning, we were greeted very professionally by all staff and offered drink and nibbles in beautiful surroundings. There was even a chap hired to sing for us that morning. I don’t know if there is always a singer BUT, that was a lovely touch, and my wife was absolutely beaming. The train was prompt, and we were lead to the train at our pace by another fine member of staff, and then another staff member saw us onto the train and invited us to explore the train and soak up the atmosphere before settling down at our table ( a table for two ). Everyone was in the best of spirits throughout the whole day/experience and the excited mood of the train was infectious.
We had great service and communication from all the staff on the train, who all conducted themselves very professionally, but we were assigned two waiters who were our main servers throughout the day, and these guys need a special mention. Hector & Dillon ( forgive any spelling error ), were exceptional in every way. Both very young. In fact, so young that the last time I travelled this train was 10 years before they were born, and they informed me that the carriage I last travelled on, was now undergoing full restoration, such was their knowledge. Both these young men immediately gave me faith in the younger generation, and both had the best manner, great communication skills and smiles for us all day. As if the day wasn’t good enough already, but these guys raised the bar and our chats about ourselves, the experience, and Hector and Dillons ideas on their futures were a most fabulous and interesting exchange of conversation.
The food far exceeded our expectations, and our slightly awkward food requirements were dealt with flawlessly.
The journey itself was smooth, exciting, interesting and punctual, giving us plenty of time to explore Baths Christmas markets and festivities before returning back to the train for more luxurious fuss and food.
We had more of the same amazing experiences on the return, and there was also a trio of lady singers dressed in period clothing to sing and entertain us, that kindly allowed me to have a fabulous photo too. Again, I don’t know if the singers are a regular feature these days, as so many years have passed since I last travelled BUT, these young ladies were also present on our final destination back in London, singing on the platform as we alighted, along with other staff members and even the chef, who was a wonderful chap, and a chap who’s hand I was very eager to shake.
We had Christmas crackers on the train with a great little gift in each which we shall cherish, and I bought a little Pullman teddy bear, which I thought was amazing value. We also took time to walk the carriages between meals and drinks or when we popped to the amazing toilets.
If you paid me to find a fault with this experience, then I’d fail, because it was stunning in every way.
Value, experience, nostalgia, customer service, food ( and drink ), hygiene, timing, location ( have I missed anything? ), everything, First class.
Well done to the whole team both front of house, and the glue behind that are unseen hero’s of this amazing experience.
My wife was treated like a Queen and I am forever in your debt for her beaming smiles.

The train journey was to celebrate a significant birthday and far exceeded expectations. From the initial welcome to the departure, everything was geared to provide an experience that will long live in the memory.
Having the steam engine was a welcome bonus as it transported us around the Kent countryside. The stop at Dover enabled us to get on board and see for ourselves the mechanics and functioning of the extremely well preserved emblem of a previous age - but which compares favourably with the current stock of railway stock.
On board we were royally served and the quality of the food was first class - and worthy of a fine restaurant.
Yes - this was a special occassion and certainly not inexpensive but certainly worth the outlay. Highly recommended.

Luxurious experience- expensive but worth it - only criticism is 5 hours in Winchester is far too long with only a cathedral for entertainment x could do with being shortened to 3 hours x

The afternoon tea on the Pullman was just amazing. The booking was so straightforward and the team at Luxury Train Tickets couldn't have been more helpful, particularly sorting out the numerous dietary requirements we had and sharing their own stories of their trips on the train which is really important when you are selling this type of experience.

The train was stunning, the food was delicious and the staff were wonderful. Such a shame some of the passengers didn't make more of an effort with dress code. Fleece coat, joggers, bobble hat. Outrageous!

A great experience from first to last. It was a birthday present for my wife and certainly lived up to expectations. The organisation was brilliant and the staff were excellent throughout. We could not fault the food, drink or service on the train. If I have any constructive criticism it is that the initial welcome at the railway station was a little chaotic and crowded.

This was a trip to remember and was bought as a 70th birthday present for my wife..... on the journey to Bath we were so spoiled, the food was exceptional, the carriage was so comfortable and luxurious... the staff were fun, informative and helpful... very well done to all involved... perhaps some information on the website for connecting train suggestions and destination information might be useful..... but otherwise...... perfect.

Brilliant experience from start to finish. The train and carriages are fabulous and so nostalgic. You are made to feel special from the start and it continued throughout the day. The 5 course lunch was superb, the chef does a brilliant job in such confined conditions. Our staff on board, Danny and Jack were so attentive, personable and professional, they made the journey very special. We also had a few surprises with the singers who were excellent. A very memorable day which we hope to do again.

From the booking process, which was done over a year ago, to the day itself, it all went seamlessly.
When you book for a special occasion, which in my case, was our 30th Wedding Anniversary and my 70th Birthday, you want the day to be memorable, even if the British weather doesn't always go to plan. But nothing about the day disappointed - it was truly brilliant!
The staff couldn't do more for you from the moment we arrived until the moment we left.
They even helped with taking photos, so we had plenty to remember the day.
Everyone on board was in a party mode from when we left Victoria station on our way across the country to Bath.
The train and staff were impeccable, the food was plentiful and the drinks were free flowing. Nothing was too much trouble.
We met some lovely people on board that day and by the end of the day we were all sorry to say our goodbye's, as it felt like leaving family behind.
I cannot finish this review without saying a big thank you to all those involved in making this trip a wonderful day to remember.
