Good coms, despite all the files involved fairly straightforward to understand

Lyons Bowe team are very professional and give regular updates from start to completion of house sales they guide you all the way. I would certainly use their services again and recommend to others.

Our experience with Lyons Bowe during the sale of our existing property and purchase of our new home was unfortunately far more stressful than we had anticipated.

One of the biggest frustrations throughout the process was communication. Much of the contact appeared to be driven by us rather than proactively managed by the conveyancing team. We regularly found ourselves having to chase for updates, often leaving repeated answerphone messages before receiving a response. At times, this left us uncertain as to what was happening, what remained outstanding and whether important actions were actually progressing.

We also experienced delays and uncertainty around proposed completion dates, with matters sometimes appearing to be dealt with later than we would have expected. The changing arrangements had wider consequences for us, including having to alter removal arrangements and amend our home insurance dates, which resulted in additional administration costs. As we were managing both a sale and purchase, any uncertainty also had a knock-on effect on the rest of the chain.

When we did manage to speak directly with members of the team, they were generally helpful and the transactions were ultimately brought through to completion. We fully appreciate that conveyancing involves several parties and that not every delay will be within a solicitor’s control. However, our main concern was not simply the existence of delays, but the lack of proactive communication around them.

A short update, even where there was no significant progress, would often have prevented the need for repeated calls and answerphone messages. Clearer ownership of outstanding actions, more regular updates and earlier identification of potential problems would have made a considerable difference to our experience.

We are pleased that our sale and purchase have now completed, but overall the process was considerably more difficult and stressful than we feel it needed to be. I hope Lyons Bowe take this feedback constructively, particularly around client communication and keeping people informed throughout what is already a very stressful process.

As first time buyers, we were so confused with how the process would go, but the initial person I spoke to guided me through what to expect and roughly how long certain steps usually take. Once we were handed over to Delanie she was pretty much always on hand if we had any questions or concerns and made the whole process much less daunting than we initially felt.

Cannot praise the team at Lyons Bowe highly enough. The house sale and purchase process is quick, thorough and the communication is excellent. I dealt with Macy and Sian and cannot fault anything. I’d recommend them to anyone.

Unfortunately we are in the midst of both a house purchase and sale using Lyons Bowe as our conveyancer. We chose Lyons Bowe because of the reviews but have not had a positive experience. The onboarding team were great and Chloe was extremely efficient. However since we have been transferred to the legal team, we have been disappointed. Our point of contact Aansa has not reviewed the file to understand our circumstances which could have resulted in duplicated effort had I not pointed it out. There is no effort to understand our concerns and when I have escalated, this has been met with very little in terms of resolution. I am currently waiting to hear back from their Senior team member but am not hopeful.
