Fantastic trip of Spain/ Portugal
Our group of 12 just returned from a 2 week tour of Spain and Portugal. It was a once in a lifetime experience that was made even more special by the fantastic hotels (perfect locations), transportation, and especially the local guides who gave us an insight I imagine few people have the opportunity to receive.
The itinerary was very detailed and thorough and everything occurred on time and smoothly. The very rare hiccup was addressed quickly via the emergency contact line.
I highly recommend planning travel with Dan and Magical Travel!

Cooking Class in Seville was a Highlight!
Dan and team organized an amazing trip for 12 people over 15 days! Accommodations were fabulous - especially our place in Seville! We were welcomed with a bottle of Cava! Porto was spectacular, as were the White Villages of Andalucia, Seville and our tour of Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. Our cooking class w/Amada @ Travel & Cuisine in Sevilla was a blast! She and her sister are very talented chefs, super knowledgeable and hilarious. Would highly recommend. Lori

Great experience with Magical Spain…
Great experience with Magical Spain tours - Dan and his team put together a bespoke Andalusian trip for us in Oct 2024. Very efficient and easy process based on some input from us designed a trip and set up hotels, drivers, guides, entrance tickets, and dinner reservations. Everything was top rate and all went smoothly. Even better we had a chance to meet with Dan in Seville over tapas and wine which really added to our experience and was a much appreciated personal touch. Would highly recommend Magical Spain for your next trip!

Just back from two weeks in Spain and Portugal with a group of 12 friends. Dan and his team put together an amazing private, personalized trip. We gave him our input and they took care of the rest! From seeing and exploring some of the famous landmarks to hiking on the coasts of Costa Brava Spain and Algarve Portugal and through vineyards in the Douro Valley to biking in Barcelona and Sevilla, everything was wonderful and exceeded our expectations! The guides, drivers, restaurant selections, hotels, etc.. were all top notch and provided us with a one-of-a kind experience. Bravo!

2nd time & just as special
This was our 2nd time touring with Magical Spain. They created another wonderful trip for us covering Valencia, Barcelona, San Sebastián, Guernica, Bilbao, La Rioja, Zaragoza & Madrid. Just like our trip through Andalucía last year, this was well-organized & professional with great lodging, guides, tours, transportation & 24-hr assistance if needed. We felt well taken care of & the whole experience was trouble-free with excellent recommendations for things to do & see (and eat!).

El Prado and Toledo via Magical Spain
Our Magical Spain trip included an enlightening visit to El Prado including an art expert guide who really brought the context of the artworks to life. We also had a delightful day in Toledo with a local expert guide who shared interesting history with us and showed us a few hidden gems. Highly recommended!

The UNESCO-listed old Toledo is a the former Roman outpost on the Tagus river and was medieval capital of Spain when Madrid was a village! Subsequently as Spain grew wealthy Madrid's world class art collection grew and makes El Prado a must see for culturally minded travelers. I'll be sure to share this with each of the two expert guides. We kissed many frogs in both Spain & Portugal to find the best of the best, guide that are not only very knowledgeable but also caring, empathetic and adaptable to different styles, from PhD to novice levels. Hope we can help you again to enjoy the best of Portugal, Northern Spain or Morocco, your way, without missing out on what's most interesting for you. Happy travels always & cheers!
A truly “Magical” experience
I was, at first, hesitant to commit with Magical Tours, as they are pricey. That said, Dan and his crew exceeded our expectations.
Each day we were picked up at one of our our beautiful and well located hotels by competent drivers in comfortable high-end vehicle’s and delivered to prearranged tours with knowledgeable, English-speaking guides who, upon arrival at our destinations, whisked us ahead of the many, many, very large tour groups waiting for admission. Lunches and dinners were arranged for us at the finest Michelin rated restaurants. And Dan even threw in some extraordinary surprises.
We were, in every way, treated like royalty.
Thanks to their knowledge and experience, we were able to see and learn much more of Spain than we would ever have been able to accomplish on our own.
Magical tours made every effort to accommodate our wants, needs and wishes, and succeeded at every turn.

Frankly, getting all the private tour arrangements with highly ranked guides was challenging as Spain has been so heavily booked since the spring and there was not much lead time. But we have a great team & network here after 20 years. After "kissing many frogs" to find the top licensed guides, who are both experts and caring, being able to skip the lines and avoid wasting time is certainly an added benefit we are proud to provide. So we are delighted but not surprised it all came together to your satisfaction!
Personally, I'm often behind 3 computer screens and a few phones and so not always able to meet our customers. As such, it was a real pleasure to meet up with you, Steve and your very nice friends for tapas. I am also delighted that the private hiking excursions from Granada that you requested went well.
As for the daily 24-7 support, we feel this is very important therefore we limit ourselves to 5 trips on the ground at a time, so we can keep our support real & personalized. That's why we say, less is more!
If we may ever be of service again for Northern Spain, the Spanish Mediterranean or Canary Islands or Portugal please let me know!

I usually plan our trips myself, but when we started planning a lengthy trip to Spain just 2 months before departure, I turned to Magical Spain for help. I'm so glad we did, it was a fantastic trip!
We had a rough idea of where we wanted to go; after a video conference Dan and his team put together a detailed itinerary complete with hotels and (private) guided tours. We made just a few tweaks and it was done! The hotels were great, and we particularly enjoyed Caceres, which was not even on our radar. Dan and his team were also helpful answering various random questions as we prepared for the trip, and it was comforting having a 24-hour hotline that we knew we could call if we needed anything during our travels.
We tend not to do a lot of organized tours, but the ones we booked were all well worth doing and gave just enough structure to our trip. They were all private, not group tours, and we felt like we got VIP treatment! I would do all of them again, especially the olive oil mill tour/lunch, the pinxtos tour, and the all-day wine tour.

We are so glad you enjoyed the trip, and that Mr G enjoys driving around this big country (for Europe). As to the hotel upgrade in Caceres, it is one of my Spanish wife's favorites also. Som I give her all the credit. She also suggested skipping Zaragoza but with the right guide it can really be charming.
As to the private guided tours and gourmet tastings, I'll pass along your comments to the guides and head honchos. They will be pleased as well.

This is my second time traveling with Magical Spain
The first time I used Magical Spain I was traveling solo in the Andalusia region of Spain and now most recently with friends in southern Portugal. Each time I've been impressed with the quality of the drivers and guides and the selection of hotels. But what I have most appreciated is Dan's commitment to ensuring his clients see the best of the region they are exploring based on their unique interests. For instance I had never heard of Monsaraz before Dan recommended it, but our stay there was one of my favorite parts of the trip. The hotel was amazing, we had a great e-bike guided tour up to the castle, and a dark sky viewing with an astronomer and two telescopes. I also appreciated the daily check-ins over WhatsApp and his willingness to try to meet on-the-fly requests (we favored a certain driver and requested that he be our go-to, and we added an additional excursion). If I travel to Spain or Portugal again, I will definitely have Magical Spain plan the trip.

As such, it was a real pleasure to escape the office, and meet up with you and your nice friends and our guide for the fun private hiking excursions overlooking the azure waters of the Algarve coast in southern Portugal.
As for Monsaraz, we are delighted enjoyed the e-bike tour visit, it is a real hidden gem, so let's not tell everybody LOL :-). Actually Nuria & I have dozens more hidden gems in Iberia like that!
As for the daily support, we feel this is very important therefore we limit ourselves to 5 trips on the ground at a time, so we can keep our support real & personalized. That's why we say, less is more!

Wow, what an amazing trip. We are beyond words in how to express our appreciation for all Magical Spain did for us. From the start we felt like we were traveling with a friend. Great trip!
On a scale of 1-5 I would rate our trip a 6!! Every second was perfect. I never had to worry about a thing. The hotels were amazing, the guides were knowledgeable and helpful.
We will definitely be back to Spain and Portugal and we will definitely be contacting Magical Spain to plan it for us.

The two-week Spain trip that Dan planned for me was spectacular! Highlights included private tours of the Alcazar in Seville and the Alhambra in Granada. The guides were exceptional across the board. Would definitely recommend Dan to fellow travelers.

We had the trip of a lifetime with Magical Spain. Dan and his team were great to work with and designed a fabulous trip for us. Very personalized. All of our hand picked tour guides were extremely knowledgeable and added so much value to our experience. Getting from city to city was seamless with drivers getting us from where we needed to be, on time and in style. Would highly recommend!

Great plan for seeing Spain
The key to customer service is listening to the client and then not only meeting expectations but exceeding them. Rachel provided a vacation plan that met all of my requests. I regret that medical issues prevent me from traveling this next year. She was a great, responsive representative for Magical Spain and Portugal tours. I hope to reconnect in late 2023 to continue our plans for a tour of Spain. Cliff
