I have thoroughly enjoyed the video lessons and see how committed you all are to teaching us. I started with phase 1, then backtracked to Pronounciation Mastery and part of the MSLK. I can't believe I finished Phase 1!
So glad I found you, I was plodding along with Duolingo and other you tubers, but MB gave me structure, system and purpose.
I feel great knowing that my lessons are planned and all I have to do is follow the road map.
I hope to be able to converse with locals when I visit China in November!

I've just completed the pronunciation mastery course. When I've started, I was skeptical about the fact of non-native Chinese speaker could teach how to focus on the Chinese sounds, but I was completely wrong.
I found all the video lessons done by Luke amazingly good. I've enjoyed all the time that I've spent following the course.
I found even better "sounding" of Chinese in Luke's voice compared to the native Chinese speaker Annie.
I have no doubt to recommend this course to anybody who is interested to learn Chinese.

The hanzi movie method works. If anything, I was excited to learn a memory technique. We always hear memory palace and stuff like that and wonder how it works. This method, it draws multiple connections to a character that give you a much higher chance of remembering it than if you just try to memorize it.

The way they and their team helps through skool community it's amazing and very helpful.
And there is no match for their METHOD it is also EXQUISITE

I really appreciate they provide the roadmap and equip me with tools like building habits and ways to integrate Chinese into my daily life; both active learning through Mandarin Blueprint 3 phases and flashcards, and passive learning through immersion files which I can also use for shadowing. I can see the work and wisdom from many years of experience that they've put into this course to be well structured and holistic approach to have a strong foundation to learn Chinese.

I’ve been learning Chinese on and off since 2018, trying all the traditional methods: in-person classes, HSK books, and apps like Lingodeer and Hello Chinese. While they were good to a point, my progress was short-lived, and I repeatedly ended up giving up, frustrated and not much further along than when I started.

Earlier this year (2025), a few Mandarin Blueprint YouTube videos popped up and reignited my motivation. I have to say, their free YouTube content, especially the pronunciation guide - is excellent. It’s a generous and really helpful resource.

Intrigued, I visited their website and saw that the first 20 levels of their course were free. With nothing to lose, I signed up and started their method.

The method itself feels a bit challenging and even ridiculous at first - but trust the process. After the first 50 characters, I realized something I’d never experienced in all my years of learning Chinese: I could read, write, and most importantly; remember the pronunciation and correct tone with ease. If nothing else, this course is the “bees’ knees” for character learning and reading. But it’s much more than that.

The entire course is clearly laid out and packed with content. There’s a full onboarding course that explains exactly how to learn, with precise steps and time allocations so nothing feels ambiguous. Heavy guidance through the first ~13 levels gently gives way to more independent learning.

The platform runs on Kajabi and is paired with an SRS flashcard system on Traverse. The only downside is that Traverse is online-only, so you can’t study offline. However, for most learners, this isn’t a major issue, and it’s still more user-friendly than alternatives like Anki. They also have an in-house app in development for sentence listening, shadowing, and activation exercises, which looks promising (parts like the “Speaking Listening Kickstarter” are already live).

I’ve since completed the free section and moved into the paid course. For me, it’s worth every penny. If you try the free levels, I’m sure you’ll be impressed. Nothing else compares to the depth and care put into this course, and the community (on Skool) is awesome, too.

It’s been incredibly fulfilling to finally communicate better with my wife and her family, as well as with Chinese colleagues at work. It’s opened doors to meaningful conversations I couldn’t have had before.

Overall, Mandarin Blueprint is a fantastic product. You can tell founders Luke and Phil genuinely care about helping people learn Chinese.

I spent - and now know wasted - quite a few months trying to learn Chinese using a different app. The issue simply was the disconnect between learning a word, its tone/s and the Chinese character. Mandarin Blueprint just brings this together in a way that is extraordinary but actually well documented and proven.

My only word of caution is you have to trust it, and remember that the association examples they give you may not suit you personally - you have to choose your own if it is to work or be an enjoyable process.

Really great, super interesting method. Am now addicted to learning chinese. Will keep going! I understand the power in this method. Also my skills I've now learnt with mind palaces and neumonics I can apply to other things in my life.

Im honestly astonished!
I was such a curmudgeon when first starting the Hanzi Movie method. I dreaded doing lessons and loathed the forced creativity needed to create memorable movie scenes.

The ability to read has been a critical component in learning Spanish and Italian. I never thought I’d be able to do the same for Mandarin. I had resolved myself to just being illiterate.

However, I appreciate every one of those scenes now. They’ve allowed me to do what I couldn’t even fathom doing 3 months ago. I can Litterally read those interesting squiggles now! I even find myself seeking out characters when I’m doing listening comprehension exercises as they help me obtain a deeper sense of the meaning of many words, even English ones. Like 目的, eyes target, goal… like of course!!!

I’m so excited to keep going!

I was studying Mandarin on my own using apps, flashcards, and graded readers. At around the 200 character mark, I felt like i was hitting a plateau. That's when I found Mandarin Blueprint. Even though the HMM method wasn't convincing to me at first, I decided to stick through for a while and I'm glad I did! Back then during my repeat until I memorize it method, when I forgot a character, there was no way for me to remember it, I'd just have to cheat and flip the card. Now I can remember at least something from my movie, and then it makes me remember other components from my movie, and I can mostly remember the character, meaning and even pronounciation.

Started studying Chinese in a private school and I didn't learn anything.

Mandarin Blueprint is a great way to learn Chinese. I already had a decent level in Chinese before starting, but I never managed to remember the characters i was learning, and the hanzi movie method has helped me to finally remember all the characters!

I’ve been using the Mandarin Blueprint Pro platform for the past month, and the structured learning approach has been incredibly effective. The abundance of thoughtfully designed resources — especially the Anki decks and the Hanzi Movie Method — has made retaining lessons far more intuitive and sustainable.

It’s clear that a great deal of care and preparation went into building this platform. The team’s attention to detail, passion for the language, and genuine compassion for the challenges of learning a new language really come through in the design and pacing of the course. Mandarin Blueprint doesn’t just teach Chinese — it supports you through the process.

I have been trying to learn mandarin for a few years, using many of the apps, YouTube channels, podcasts, textbooks, & even had a tutor for a period. The Hanzi Movie method delivered by Mandarin Blueprint is by far the best methodology I’ve come across & I can’t recommend it enough. A study session doesn’t even feel like a study session. The Traverse app used to support review of flash cards is brilliant, the method of memorising using stories/movie scenes is fun but robust, and Luke and Phil, the teachers on the course, are just fantastic. They’re so engaging, encouraging, & really know their stuff. The Mandarin Blueprint course is a really professional, organised & effective product - I highly recommend.

Luke and Phil do not joke around when it comes to the Chinese learning process. They do however, make jokes about other things. I started this course 6 weeks ago and it has made a huge difference to my ability to correctly pronounce sounds and understand characters. I highly recommend this course for learners at any stage!

Well structured program and content.
Insights provided are very useful to learning a new language.
Adding Traverse to the learning experience makes it easier to remember certain toes and tone pairs.

I am learning from complete scratch, I started around a week ago. I found TMB's 1 hour video on youtube and I thought everything was explained so perfectly. I found the course and in 3 days of learning I already have 50 characters under my belt! I had my doubts about this method at first but if you really give it a go and take the advice your learning will be turbo charged.

These guys and this community is the greatest! If in your heart of hearts, if your intent is true and you have a desire, love, passion, fascination or intrigue for learning mandarin. Then do yourself a huge favor and get in here! I'm so greatful for Mandarin Blueprint for Luke and Phil they are very cool, wicked smart, highly funny and fun, humble, personable, and phenomenal teachers, salt of the earth people! If you don't want to learn mandarin these are not the the droids you are looking for... sorry I'm not really a review writer, only something this good could get me to write one!
