My wife ordered an enclosure and mantises from MantisNI. When they arrived, they had sent the incorrect side panels meaning there was no enclosure for our new mantises. She lodged a complaint via email, several times, with no response. She then raised a dispute with PayPal for the enclosure only.

With still no response, we had to take matters into our own hands and modify the enclosure to make it work knowing that this issue would have to be considered resolved. Finally, we received an email asking if the situation had been resolved, we said it hadn't been by them, but we'd had to rectify the problem ourselves. We received no further response. Eventually, probably as a result of the lodged PayPal dispute, my wife received an email. Rather than being a simple apology for the issue, he was rude and obnoxious, accusing her of wanting a full refund, mantises included.

She had made it quite clear in her emails and the PayPal dispute that we only wanted the side panel issue to be resolved and not a full refund. The PayPal was dropped because we knew modifying the enclosure would mean we had no further comeback. She has since received an additional email which was also extremely derogatory. It's amazing he still has a business if this is the way he treats people.

I recently came across a situation involving this guy who runs a Facebook group for jumping spiders. My girlfriend was scammed out of £100 after being misled by a seller, and when she posted about it in the group to warn others, he removed her post and publicly criticized her. Feeling frustrated, she left a review about her experience, which led him to disable his reviews and even send her a threatening message on WhatsApp. He accused her of backyard breeding and threatened to ruin her unrelated dog walking business.

I've learned that he has a terrible reputation for customer service, especially when it comes to negative feedback, and it seems he has a pattern of targeting women. It's concerning, and I want to make sure other people are aware of this situation. Please be careful and consider buying from someone else.

This guy admins a facebook group for jumping spiders, i was missold a package and the seller blocked me, so i posted on the group to advise people that id just been scammed out of £100. He’s an admin, removed my post and began berating me publicly, so i stated this on a review, he then turned his reviews off and sent me a text to my personal whatsapp, threatening to destory my entirely unrelated dog walking business, accusing me of backyard breeding & the whole lot.

I’ve since found out he has awful customer service if you have any negative experience (all reviews speak for themselves..), and enjoys targeting women. It usually always is females he targets, so please be wary and buy from anywhere else.

Orderes micro enclosures for my new jumping spiders, the enclosures are very beautiful and wellmade. I did put the wrong post code on the order, I didn't recieve a response to let me know they rectified it but when it arrived I did see the post code adjusted. Would definitely order again, their enclosures are very reasonably priced and easy to assemble.

Ordered and paid online but they didn’t send order and did not respond to several emails ,eventually managed contact but just had some argumentative rude person sending messages so now going to bank to file a chargeback

If I could’ve left 0 stars I would have,
Customer service skills are none existent! So rude, had to take a day off work for delivery after saying you can pick a day, happened 3 times before I asked for a refund to which I was told No!
Was told they’re too busy to deal with rubbish- so technically customers,
Had to do a charge back and ruined my daughter’s birthday.

AVOID at all costs-

Extremely poor business. The owner is downright rude.

I had to cancel an order and the customer service was perfect. I messaged the shop on messenger and a refund was issued within 24 hours despite the team being away at an event. I couldn’t ask for more! Thank you

Ordered a Vinegaroon and it arrived healthy and well packaged. Leaving a 4-star review as they did not respond to any of my questions like if it was a wild-caught animal or not. I'd be worried about getting a response if your animal had any issues on arrival.

Bought an iguana from this website for £90 as that was the listed price then got an email from him saying that they were £150 looked at the website and the description had changed to new prices for different breeds none of which were £90 Then got emailed that he had no idea where i got the figure of 90 from. Hes a scammer and a liar

Having followed MantisNI on social media for some time now, I’ve ordered live food, an enclosures and a beautiful Dead Lead mantis.

Selecting correct postage was easy, my
Mantis was packed so carefully and arrived really quick.

I’ve found customer service really helpful, engaging and knowledgeable. Can’t wait to order again from them.

Absolutely awful. Ordered a mantis which would not eat at all. Thought it was stress from transport at first but after 3 days I contacted him and was told she was probably pre-molt. She quickly went downhill and I found her crumpled at the bottom of her enclosure one morning. Contacted him again and got no response. Next day she was vomiting black and couldn't move her legs and then died. When I first contacted him he told me it was my fault despite me following the instructions on his own website but still offered a replacement then stopped responding when I asked to arrange it. Finally texted me directly when I mentioned getting a chargeback through my bank and rescinded the offer then threatened to take me to small claims court if I followed through with it. Very aggressive, completely unreasonable, sends out sick animals and does not care.

My bug arrived dead, it was very poorly packaged. When I contacted the company about the matter, the owner was extremely rude and then proceeded to ignore my messages so the issue was not resolved.

Placed an order with a valua of £60 which I couldn’t follow through with, due to my partner’s hesitancy. Got in touch via contact number on their website and they refunded all of it back no questions asked. That alone, makes the company trustworthy in my book. Thanks!!

I paid extra money to buy a mantis with a live guarantee and it died the next day after it arrived. I reached out to the site but they said it was my fault in a rude manner. I will not choose this place again.

Great selection, helpful team, and friendly comms. Highly recommended.
