I booked a appointment for my son who…
I booked a appointment for my son who was under one and specifically asked when booking the appointment will injections be given to him because of his age as another travel clinic had told me that he would not be able to receive any injections because of his age - and that specific clinic didn’t give babies injections under one. Asking this clinicI was told it would be okay and then when attending the appointment it was a complete waste of time because there were no injections for my son to have because of his age. It was a waste of time and a waste of money and I felt like my question was disregarded upon booking the appointment via the online chat

We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience and we understand your frustration.
Our Customer Service Team are not medically trained and therefore cannot determine which vaccinations are clinically appropriate. Our appointments include an individual travel health risk assessment with a qualified clinician, who considers factors such as the traveller’s age, destination and travel plans. Where vaccines are appropriate, these can be administered during the same appointment.
Having reviewed your webchat, we can see that you specifically raised your son’s age. While our Customer Service team member explained that she was not medically trained, we acknowledge that the wording used could have been clearer and may have given you the impression that vaccination had been confirmed.
We apologise for the inconvenience and wasted time this caused. I can confirm that your feedback has been shared with the team.

A fully comprehensive assessment of need
A fully comprehensive phone consultation, then going to the pharmacy for the vaccinations was stress free. He was very good with the children and again went through all the information.

Really sorry to say that the whole experience was highly disappointing. The lady advising was highly incompetent and there was no stock of vaccines that we wanted. Vaccine prices are ridiculously expensive and the lady didn’t tell us anything that we couldn’t have found ourselves. Total waste of time. Only useful if you need yellow fever vaccines cause GPs don’t provide it.

Poor Organisation and a Lack of Accountability
I had an extremely disappointing experience with MASTA.
Before our appointment, I specifically contacted MASTA to confirm that both of my children would be able to receive their chickenpox vaccinations during the same visit. I was reassured that this would be the case.
When we arrived, we were told there was only one vaccine available, meaning only one child could be vaccinated. This was incredibly frustrating, especially as I later spoke to MASTA and was told they should have informed us in advance that they didn't have enough stock. If this was already known, why were my wife and I allowed to attend the appointment?
This wasn't just a minor inconvenience. My wife and I had both taken time off work and spent time preparing and reassuring our two young children, who were already anxious about their vaccinations, only for the appointment to fall apart because of poor organisation and communication. The whole situation caused unnecessary stress and upset, and my wife and I decided not to go ahead with the vaccination at all.
The clinician's attitude made matters worse. They came across as rude and dismissive, and showed little empathy for the situation. My wife and I were simply told to "bring the other one back on Monday," with no acknowledgement of the time we'd taken off work, the impact on our children, or the fact that the issue could have been avoided altogether.
To make matters even more frustrating, my wife and I visited another pharmacy nearby later the same day. They were able to vaccinate both children without any problems, which only highlighted how poorly the original appointment had been managed.
Overall, this experience has completely eroded my confidence in MASTA. Poor communication, poor organisation, and a lack of empathy turned what should have been a straightforward appointment into an unnecessarily stressful experience for our family.
I would not use MASTA again and, based on this experience, I would not recommend their service to others.

After having reviewed your call with our Customer Service team, we can see that your call was to confirm that vaccinations could be administered during the appointment, rather than it being a consultation only. Our colleague confirmed that vaccinations can be given during the same appointment where the clinician is satisfied it is appropriate to administer them. Unfortunately, this discussion did not include confirmation of vaccine stock availability at the clinic, and we are sorry for any misunderstanding this may have caused.
As your review relates to an appointment at one of our partner clinics, I can confirm that we have forwarded your concerns to the Reading clinic, who are investigating the issues you have raised, including the vaccine availability and your experience during the appointment.
