I can only speak for the North team at McLarens, but they truly get it when it comes to meeting client expectations. As brokers, our biggest frustration is poor claims service, as it reflects poorly on everyone involved. Often, this stems from the adjusters handling the claims.
McLarens, however, stand out as a leader in this area. Their adjusters demonstrate excellent communication skills, which perfectly complement their outstanding professionalism and strong technical expertise.

Terrible Service, Lack of Communication, and No Payment on Agreed Claim
I am extremely dissatisfied with Gallagher and McClarens for their poor handling of my insurance claim. After submitting all required documents and evidence, there was little to no communication from them for months. Despite eventually agreeing on a settlement, they have still failed to make the payment.
Their customer service is completely unresponsive. Every follow-up is met with excuses or delays, with no clear answers or timeline for resolution. Worse, they shared my personal details with a third party without my consent, which is a serious breach of trust.
I have been chasing this for months, and despite agreeing on the claim amount, they continue to delay payment without any valid explanation. The lack of professionalism and reliability is astounding. I would strongly advise against using Gallagher or McClarens for any insurance needs.
Avoid them at all costs!

The thing that immediately came across when meeting Andrew Barker was his enthusiasm in what he does. He clearly loves property and his knowledge of the subject was most reassuring to me. He provided a huge amount of extremely helpful information to me as I am the Company Secretary of a property management company. He was friendly, helpful and I learnt a great deal from talking to him. I would not hesitate to use his services again (if needed) in the future, also I would be very happy to recommend him to other people.

I WISH I COULD SAY NICE THINGS.
I have been told by my landlord that he partnered with McLarens as his loss adjuster company. Our Flat has been infested with moulds all over the kitchen and its no longer habitable. They housed us in a hotel with no kitchen facilities. I have a 2 year old child and we normally cook for our food. Because of this, we have a significant increase in our daily expenses due to unable to cook. I was told that I will be reimbursed with my expenses, unfortunately, when I am trying to get reimbursed, then this company is not getting back to me. I spoke to Chris Lewis and Owen Kinnes, which both advised me to send them an email and I have not heard anything from them. I called and routed to VM all the time. Now I don't know whom to contact. Its been 4 weeks now. I will give this company few more weeks and if this will still not get resolved I will escalate the issue to The Financial Ombudsman Service for a poor performance and not delivering as what was promised. They don't seem to care about their client's situation.

incompetence, inept. McLarens submitted an inaccurate report from a company named Belfour Restoration whose reviews are poor, resulting in harassment from McLarens Loss Adjuster, Zurich Insurance, our management company Homes Property Management Ltd London W10. They also allegedly instructed my neigbour to reinstate a boiler that they knew was the source of 1 of the leaks, and allowed the leak to continue for 8 days, whilst falling to report the source of further leaks. Lies, Gas lighting, harassment, coercive control. Captured on my domestic CCTV. Year 2021, issues are ongoing Ref McLarens MUK.201255 - Zurich Ref: 20-50-436174. Every one's mental health has been pushed to the limit.

The adjuster farely applied the policy to the identified perils.
Settlement was agreed very quickly.
However payment took time, put this down to the insurer.

It took Richard from mclarens over 14 day to write a report after hinting it had already been submitted to the insurance company. Itâs as if they donât care and have to many cases on the go for different insurance company. Avoid useless is an understatement 4 months on still no further forwarded insurance have taken it in house. But started claim all over again.

Appointed by Anglian Water as their loss adjusters due to Anglian Water flooding our warehouse on the 18th January.
Initial contact after the incident was okay ( 18th Jan ) but over 12 days later we are still trying to work amongst damp carpets, a stench and our damaged retail stock. There has been no replies to any of the information I have sent over and no help or conclusion to this very serious issue.
I cannot recommend this firm and would say if you are to come across them please involve your own insurance company from the beginning. At the moment it simply seems we are being played in the hope Mclarens and their client Anglian Water get away with things.
