Not the level of care you'd hope for

I don't think it was a mistake that I should have expected better than average care with doctors within this network, but that is not the case. The first doctor misdiagnosed me and prescribed hundreds of pills for things I don't have... if you're a Pill Popper he's your guy. Transferred to another doctor in the practice that was just opening her office. She's lovely and caring, but administratively the office is a nightmare and the follow-up is terrible. I have significant health issues we're doing detailed blood panels, having someone call me and say I'm fine is insulting AF. Paid up through half of the year and my wellness exam is due before the contract terminates, I've been informed I can only have my wellness exam if I pay another quarter. Such Bullshit.

I had to hold a needle in my vein...

Have you ever held a needle in your own vein?

I sure did because the nurse forgot something and had to go get it.

And when I called MDVIP they could not find another doctor in my area, and refused to refund my money because I took the annual assessment.

NOTE: I did NOT get the full assessment results and/or talk about them with my doctor because of their incompetency.

5 hours of phone calls; 3 "I'll call you back by this date", and lots of frustration.

They just took my money without providing services.

Good job guys! You lost a customer for life.

MDVIP, a great concept in theory. Poorly run, poorly managed.

I have been a member of MDVIP for about 2.5 years now. The concept of concierge medicine is a great one: more individualized care, more attentive response times from your provider. That's exactly why I paid a surcharge of $2000 + for care in RI with my providers. My first provider with MDVIP was excellent. He left his practice because reimbursement in RI is so poor and MA is more lucrative. My 2nd provider was very good. His office management was lacking and his front office personnel was abysmal. Messages weren't relayed. Faxes weren't sent. Orders weren't received. It was a nightmare. The physician was gracious in that he compensated for this inefficiency by encouraging me to contact him directly. It was a great accommodation and one that I utilized frequently. The doctor was very responsive until quite recently, 1.5 years into our medical relationship. Recently, I was very disappointed with some aspects of the delivery of care. I called MDVIP frequently over the 2 years to complain, initially about the poor office management and most recently about my disenchantment with the delivery of care. Sadly, that corporation offers no oversight over the physicians' office management or over the physician's delivery of care. There is no tangible liason to troubleshoot issues between the patient and the provider. The company is solely in position to facilitate payments and recruit you as a patient and other physicians to staff their offices. That is it. I have spoken innumerable times to even those in the hierarchy who provided little to no support in terms of my 7 or so complaints. When staying with MDVIP became more of a travesty and a disaster for me as a patient, I opted to leave this platform. I have spoken with several others who are of the same opinion. It's a shame because it has the potential to be a great concept. But in reality, it is a money sink with very little in return. Give it great thought before you commit. It might work out for a while as it did with me. Until it didn't.

Financial Harassment

The medical care was marginal but I'm sure that depends on the doctor. Great for Rx refills and submitting orders we requested. After leaving MDVIP after 1st year, they continued collection calls and invoices so far 4 months after we notified them of our nonrenewal.

Goldman Sachs/MDVIP scam

Goldman Sachs - one of the perpetrators of the 2009 mortgage crisis - bought MDVIP and they are turning it into a cash machine with annual $100+ increases while taking 30% of the annual fee of $2000+. All the while services are declining with the only true benefit being the Cleveland Heart lab blood test. I worked out an arrangement with my doctor to pay directly and avoid the MDVIP cost scam.

They raise the subscription price every year. You cannot submit the annual physical to your insurance provider so you are paying out of pocket. It is very difficult to cancel and you have to pay another entire year before you can. I have never been able to get a same day or even next day appointment with my provider.

Profit over people

The Dr. helped me balance my hormones to stop my menopause symptoms but the consultations were not as in depth as I expected and hoped they would be. The annual exam which is the pride of their program was (except for the blood work) a joke. The checks on your bones, eye sight, hearing, brain were no anymore than you can do at home on your own.

In late October we had a job move out of state and all the MDVIP Dr's in the new area will not take new patients.

Even though I moved I paid for another quarter so that I could get prescription refills until I could find a new Dr. and get referrals to specialist I need (cardiologist and allergist/ENT).

When I did find a Dr. outside the MDVIP network I was told I was on the hook for an additional quarter because I did the annual exam!!!

The exam occurred right before our move and there is no follow up on mammogram, PAP or other referrals in my new state. It is not necessarily the my MDVIP Dr's fault. He doesn't have the connections. but they are not letting me go to seek the health care I need outside their network.

Even gym memberships can be cancelled if you move. Unfortunately, MDVIP cares more about their profits than the healthcare of their members.

The value did not match the cost

I joined MDVIP during a period when I had a genuine health concern that required timely attention. I split my time between Michigan and California, and access to both primary care and specialists—especially in California—had become extremely difficult. MDVIP was positioned as a way to bypass those access barriers.
MDVIP charges an upfront membership fee (paid annually or quarterly), and once you complete their required “Wellness Assessment,” the membership is locked in. That structure is important to understand before enrolling.
In my area, there was only one MDVIP physician available. He was responsive and courteous, but it quickly became clear that the focus of the program was on completing the Wellness Assessment rather than addressing why I had joined. Most visits and follow-ups centered on finishing that process, even though I had clearly expressed concern about ongoing symptoms and unexplained changes in my health.
The Wellness Assessment itself felt dated and of limited value. Some findings were minimized without much explanation, and the testing was relatively basic given the cost—much of it could have been obtained independently through standard labs for far less. Additional testing required extra charges and persistence on my part.
At follow-up visits, feedback derived from wellness metrics felt disconnected from what I was experiencing, which was both frustrating and unsettling given the reason I sought care in the first place. I ultimately found myself independently pursuing key testing and bringing the results back to the physician in order to move things forward.
I later discovered that I could not access the results of my Wellness Assessment through the MDVIP portal after misplacing the physical paperwork, leaving me without a record of tests I had paid for.
When I contacted MDVIP to request termination and explained why the experience hadn’t met my expectations, there was no effort to understand or learn from my feedback—only a reiteration of policy.
My takeaway: MDVIP appears to capitalize on the current healthcare access crisis by emphasizing a wellness-based membership model that locks patients in early. While this may work for individuals seeking routine preventive care, it may not be well suited for those with active or unresolved health concerns who need diagnostic focus and flexibility. I would strongly encourage anyone considering MDVIP to understand exactly what is included, how rigid the model is, and whether it truly aligns with their needs before enrolling.

Used them in Boca Raton for years because its impossible to get a good internist otherwise. Unless you have a connection. Not worth the money. Went to cancel they give you the run around and make it impossible to cancel.

MD VIP is a shell that provides MDs/DOs…

MD VIP is a shell that provides MDs/DOs with business functions ( billing, marketing, collections, IT.) The corporation holds no responsibility for the quality of the care or the continuity of care if the individual provider you are “signed up with” closes the practice for any reason. Know what you are buying into.

Rip-off organization

Rip-off organization. They'll charge $2K for a "wellness exam" that provides about one-third of the information you'd get just by scheduling a doctor using the usual channels, i.e., without the "concierge service."

And what a joke: the only thing "concierge" about this service is the CON. It took me just as long to book my doctor as it would have had I just gone to the yellow pages (longer, actually). Their website SUCKS, and their portal is useless (its main goal is to hook you in and to sell you expensive tests that are not needed and are in fact, meaningless).

The wellness exam is pointless; it's only one step above a Scientology "audit." Want to know your PSA levels, or your thyroid function? Nope - that's an "extra" exam. And the wellness exam is conducted by a medical assistant who, quite frankly, knows less about medicine than I do. So I wound up spending $2K to have some high-school graduate spend about thirty minutes conducting tests that didn't add any more information than I already had from a cardiac-calcium test (which cost ~ 7% of what I spent to get "audited" by a medical assistant with six weeks of training).

If you EVER think you might join or even consider joining MDVIP, all I can say is: DON'T.

MDVIP uses misleading payment schedules

MDVIP uses misleading payment schedules in their ads and websites and relies on that misunderstanding to lock patients into 1 year contracts that they cannot get out of. They then will not provide a written termination notice for the contract if requested prior to the final payment. They are banking on people to forget to cancel their contract and then use the auto-renewal feature to lock them into another year. While in theory concierge medicine seems like a way for patients to receive high quality care, the way this business strategy is enacted is taking advantage of those same patients.

Nothing “concierge” about MDVIP unless…

Nothing “concierge” about MDVIP unless you think a call center taking messages is fancy. I had a horrible experience trying to schedule an appointment with MDVIP Dr Armani/falmouth. I work with physicians and their staff for a living, and I understand how busy they are as a rule. The concierge service that I paid for was supposed to offer personalized medicine and care but the staff member (Melissa)simply blew me off and didn’t seem interested to book me an appointment until after they returned from Thanksgiving. I’d been waiting since 11/19, 21, 24, 25, 26…..finally canceled on the 26th after leaving multiple messages asking they simply give me ANY date and time and simply let me know when I can come in. I was called from a blocked number on Wednesday from Melissa saying she had an abbreviated day “due to holiday” but again she didn’t seem interested in simply booking me a date. Today 12/1 she called to book my appointment but she doesn’t realize I’ve already quit this membership due to the abysmal experience. No problem with receiving my refund…..even MDVIP seemed to agree with my assessment of my experience with this particular provider’s office. A Drs office is only as good as the staff and unfortunately I’ll never know if the Dr herself is skilled. What a shame but then again I did try reaching the Dr directly thru her website but even she has never checked her messages. I am unimpressed by this “concierge” service and will try again with a city Dr who might take concierge medicine more seriously than just using the term as a marketing hook.

Tricked by an MPVIP salesperson

While we were pleased with the doctor, we feel that we were not told the truth when calling for information and initially signing up via MdVip’s national center.
I specifically asked if we were bound for a year if we paid by the quarter. I was told we could cancel or change providers at any time. My husband had one wellness appointment and did not visit again due to the distance we had to travel to see the doctor for urgent concerns. After making three payments of $525 for 3 quarters we requested a cancellation for the last quarter and were flatly told that after the first wellness visit we were contractually bound to pay for the entire year. The first appointment is the wellness visit.
It seems like a bait and switch, unfortunately. We recommend you read the fine print and record conversations with the initial salesperson who promises everything to get you enrolled.

Billing Dept Harrass and Bully

I love the doctor I have through MDVip, but the billing dept of MDVip harrass you extensively if you don't pay the quarterly bill in full right away. Sometimes I need to split the bill payments into 2 or 3 payments, which should be absolutely ok ti them since you're making the payment within the quarter its due in, but they will bully and harrass you after you make that 1st payment and it wont stop until its paid in full. For instance, since yesterday, 5 texts, upteen phones calls (had to block them), 3 emails. And its not 10am yet. To the powers that be at MDVip, stop harrassing us over billing. $450 is a BIG bill to pay and every once in a while; we need a little help to get it paid. Harrassing us just makes our situation more stressful and we dont need that.

The company is useless. They take any doctor regardless of their backgrounds or capabilities. They don’t control pricing. They now use quest and their SPECIAL BLOODWORK at the annual physical is a joke. Bad BBB reviews. Find another doctor.

This is a scam

This is a scam. I learned nothing new, and they will just keep charging you even if you are not going to the doctors, and they will not give you your money back. i spent 4 thousand dollars to learn the same thing I knew before using this scam. Stay away, and with this money, just go to South America, and you can get better care for cheaper.
