Best dog food ever

I’ve been feeding this to my dog for 4 years in those 4 years I’ve only had about 5 incidents where my food got delivered thawed and every single time Maevs customer service quickly responds with a replacement order. I like that I get reminders 3 days before auto ship incase I’m traveling etc. I love the convenience of it. My dog absolutely loves it.

My dog loved the food but the shipping…

My dog loved the food but the shipping department is not well run. I was sent the wrong food 3 times in a row. I had to call them repeatedly to correct the issue, and although they were nice, they just kept shipping me the wrong food over and over. They are not receptive at all. I had to cancel my subscription.

Go Elsewhere

We have an account with Maev for two large breed dogs. FOOD is great. Customer service is horrible. Since joining, I have had to chase down our second dogs delivery every single time. No exaggeration, every single time.

Most recently, I received a notice that my order was processed. The order that they processed was a box. A box with no food. Just a box. But I didn't get the box, I was just charged for the box.

CELINE is the customer care agent I believe is handling my account as she is the person who responds. Responds with "here is what I show your order says. Which one needs to be shipped?" Why wouldn't she look at the order history and know this? And then "sorry can't get your order out till Monday, holiday schedule may cause delay" . My dogs are currently out of food (I placed an expediated order on the 25th). I will make food to get us through, at a rough estimate of $300. This is on top of what they are already charging me.

So again, while the food is great, there are massive customer care issues that may cost you even more than the food, which is already expensive. My advice.. go elsewhere.

Unethical recurring charges

I am super unhappy. Unethical activity here. I tried their product a long time ago. Spent almost $500 to try it. I think its a great concept, however my dogs had an allergic reaction. They wouldn't accept a return, as I understand and took it as a loss. But, verified that no add'l product would never be sent.
All was good all this time.
I have not ordered any add'l product and the subscription was terminated long ago. Been since May of last year, according to the gentleman on the phone.
BUT, today they decided to charge me $270.51 for a "RECURRING ORDER" I DID NOT PLACE!! And somehow reactivate a subscription. After all this time out of the blue. I immediately called and emailed them as soon as they opened this morning as the transaction posted 11:23pm last night (my notice came from PayPal) to tell them they made a mistake and to make sure the product doesn't send and issue me a refund.
They are saying they cannot make changes and pretty much trying to perform unethical charges and business activity.
I am not going to accept that I am being robbed by them. SO this issue will be reported and I will continue to get a resolve. I DO NOT recommend ordering anything from them or they will send you charges over a year later and tell you they cant do anything about it.

UPDATE: James called me back and they got a resolution and are issuing me a refund confirmed by him just now. I just updated my review stars to 3, due to this resolve. Thank you James for the follow through.

I’ve been ordering maev for a few years…

I’ve been ordering maev for a few years now and realized I had a second account that auto subscribed. I spoke to Maev rep a week prior and asked for these accounts to be removed to have a one account that I can process my orders through. My CC was charged again and they effectively told me there’s nothing they can do and do not honor any previous calls. Food is great, customer service failed me on this one. Is one charge really worth sticking it to a customer and losing them?

Truly horrendous customer support

I have tried to communicate over the phone numerous times with AJ at Maev. He lied to me and told me someone would get back to me within 24 hours. Likewise, AJ told me that he would send me an email with more information about the order, but he has not sent anything. AJ's customer service is truly atrocious, and this is the 4th time I have had to speak to him over the last few months.

It has now been over 48 hours and nobody has contacted me.

I called Maev today again, and asked for Jaime (who had assured me months ago over a 30 minute long phone call that I could reach out if I ever had trouble with Maev again). Nobody has replied to me still for days.

Maev has refused to cancel my order despite hours of discussion

This is an order that the Maev system improperly duplicated and wrongly charged my Amex card. I sent in a credit card dispute and they lied to the credit card company saying that I received these goods. I have never received the order nor do I ever want to receive the order.

Please cancel the order and stop lying to my credit card company. I even attached proof that Maev is wrongly charging my account.

A truly awful company. Please do yourself a favor and never buy from here. There are plenty of other alternatives.

I recently tried this brand's dog food

I recently tried this brand's dog food, and while the quality of the food itself was quite good, I did encounter some issues. The online portion calculator recommended a significantly lower amount of food than my dog actually needed, which led me to feed him a reduced amount for a few days. Thankfully, I caught on quickly and adjusted to the appropriate serving size, but it was a bit of a surprise.

Given the premium pricing, I expected a seamless experience from the brand, so this miscalculation was disappointing. While I appreciate the quality, I ultimately decided to switch to a competitor offering similar quality at a more affordable price point. This brand has great potential if they can improve their portion recommendations and consider a more competitive price range.

New raw diet customer

I learned the day we got our first delivery of Maev, of our dogs intolerance to potatoes amongst other things. Beef, Pork and, and, and. I asked them if they had any without potatoes, and the only thing they had with sweet potato's was the pork.
No luck there.

I ordered a 6 bag package to save $ and shipping. It must stay frozen as recommended. Understood as it is minimally processed and cooked.
I separated the potatoes from the rest of the bag to help my pets medical issues, and what I found was 4 cups of potato per bag of the chicken recipe.
The other thing I noticed because of needing to separate the food, is your pet will never get a balanced portion of all ingredients as they put the dark meat on the bottom and fill the rest of the bag from there. It's frozen so it doesn't shake up well before feeding. You get lots of veggies from the top and most of the proteins from the bottom.

She loved the food as you would expect from a raw diet but we must find another product to satisfy our pets needs.

Convenience only, lacking everywhere else

I’m having trouble reaching customer support. I sent an email to their support team on Oct 14th and haven’t heard a peep other than the automated message claiming they would try to respond within 24 hours.

I am an experienced DIY raw feeder and am reviewing this product from that perspective. Maev’s raw dog food, in my opinion, is just ok. Seeing the individual ingredients may give customers peace of mind, but it would increase the convenience factor if they blended the ingredients so that every bowl could be balanced. There’s nothing wrong with balancing over time, this would simply be an improvement. The benefit of seeing the ingredients is I can see the proportion of the primary ingredients. I think they rely too much on beef liver as a source of calories. Liver is a vital ingredient and nutritionally dense, but over feeding secreting organs can lead to loose stool. The ratio of muscle meat is too low for my preference. Maev is a great option for those new to raw feeding; however, once you’re comfortable with raw feeding, if you have time to research to DIY or money for a better brand, I would transition off of Maev.

Maev is amazing for convenience, but their recipes and customer service are severely lacking. My biggest concern now is that if I try to contact them to cancel, they won’t respond in time and I’ll keep getting charged. Hopefully, it won’t come to that.

My dog hated it

My dog hated it. I tried it frozen and thawed but it becomes like much when frozen. My dog is not picky at all but refuses to eat it even when his old food was mixed in. Customer service is awful. Actually the worst. I do not trust them to not charge me again for this so I cancelled my card with my bank. I do not trust or like them and I would advise you not to order from this company.

If I could provide ZERO STARS I would

If I could provide ZERO STARS I would. I placed ONE order for my dogs to try it. I had already had them sample Farmer’s Dog which they LOVE. My dogs did not like the Maev and were even reluctant to eat it at all. It was messy and messier than Farmer’s because at least that one you can simply squeeze it out of the bag. It also does not thaw out like they claim so your dog has to eat frozen food bits unless you leave it out for FAR LONGER than they direct.

That stated, it was SOOO NOT WORTH the price and since I knew they loved Farmer’s Dog, I simply opted not to re-order. I sent them an email advising of my decision. Approximately 2-3 weeks later I got a charge on my account for $356.55 (that’s only 3 dogs$$$). I contacted the company immediately but their customer service days/hours are designed to be problematic for anyone who works. Leaving a message, I did not receive a call back for several days. Once they called me, I spoke to some woman from another country who happily told me they would refuse to cancel my transaction and would be shipping out the dogfood anyway. When I requested to speak with someone of authority I was told I could not and no managers were available.

HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES and HIDEOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE IN SOME OTHER COUNTRY!! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY AND THEIR FRAUDULENT BUSINESS PRACTICES.

NIGHTMARE UNPROFESSIONAL CROOKS

Completely disorganized, unprofessional company. 1st shipment was already 1 day late. It arrived defrosted, with the WRONG ITEMS in it as well as ONE ITEM MISSING. MY DOG IS ALLERGIC TO CHICKEN AND THEY SENT ME CHICKEN THAT I DID NOT ORDER. I HAD TO THROW AWAY THE ENTIRE FIRST SHIPMENT. I realized I could not possibly rely upon such a disorganized company, as my dog's stomach is very sensitive. AT FIRST, they refused to refund me, even when I told them I won't start my dog on their food because I don't trust them. They shipped a second parcel of their food three days 3 days AFTER I told them I won't be continuing with them. Supposedly, they have veterinarian's involved with their company and should be aware of the severe issues that can occur when a dog's food is changed, back and forth. I DID NOT ACCEPT THE SECOND SHIPMENT THAT WAS SENT AFTER I TOLD THEM I DID NOT WANT IT. SO - my dog ended up with NO FOOD, but Maev was refusing to refund the cost, despite their mixups. In addition, communicating with them was ALWAYS very difficult, as there were computer glitches and it took a long time before the system would give me a telephone number. I filed a complaint with my bank, after which, Celine at Maev called me. She was VERY nice and understanding, and she promised to refund all the money. A month later, I have now been informed from MY BANK ACCOUNT THAT NO REFUND WAS GIVEN. This is a very disorganized company, so it is possible that they simply forgot to refund my money. OR, they are a bunch of crooks who deliberately did it to me. But the situation FOR ME is the same. We received no merchandise that my dog could use, and now $211.23 has been taken out of my limited Social Security income. How will I feed my dog without money or dog food? You cannot trust these people. They are disorganized and/or they LIE TO YOU. They took advantage of a 70 year-old disabled lady and put my dog in danger by sending us defrosted food that was NOT ordered (CHICKEN, to which my dog is allergic) and which was missing one of the items I paid for. They are untrustworthy. DO NOT ORDER FROM THESE PEOPLE!

We have 2 pugs

We have 2 pugs, one was OK with the food but the other would throw up the food. Also, we have recieved multiple orders that were thawed....once thawed this product turn to mush and cannot be used. Very expensive for what it is, better options available. Good concept but not sustainable in my opinion.

Best dog food ever

Shipping is very fast. Although the price is a bit high, considering that it is proportioned and ready raw food it certainly is worth the price. Really struggled with finding a reliable food for my puppy that would stop his diarrhea and this certainly did the trick. Not only is his poop solid but his coat has become shiny and soft and he gets extremely excited for breakfast and dinner compared to before.

Horrible customer support

They have no live chat on the website and it's really hard to find how to reach out to them. Horrible experience. The food also came with all liver on top instead of mixed in. Not worth the high cost if I have to mix it myself.

OMG my dog (Golden Doodle) LOVES MAEV…

OMG my dog (Golden Doodle) LOVES MAEV frozen food. We have tried Farmer’s Dog, Nom Nom and Ollie; which my dog (Baron, Mini Golden Doddle) just smelled and turned around and did not eat. Yers he eventually ate some but not with any vigor. Then I introduced MAEV, He loved it. He is on Maev 100 % now and he eagerly eats all and licks the bowl.

We Love Maev! ❤️

I couldn't feed my dog anything other than Maev! She spins in circles whenever it's time to eat. Maev did a great job at not blending their ingredients together which gives me reassurance that my dog is eating whole food with no harmful ingrediants or filters. We love Maev and have been customers for 1 year 8 ☮️❤️🐶

Thinking about trying Maev?

I have an English bulldog. I switched him to Maev about 6 months ago because they don’t do well with grains and chicken products. I buy him the Maev beef. Immediately his goopy eyes, paw licking and hot spots between his toes, his fur and his ear infections cleared up. He’s lost 15lbs. And now wants to walk run and play again. He has an hourglass shape now. Best decision I made! I’ve had a couple mishaps with the box not sealed properly on delivery but Maev’s customer service responded same day and resolved the issue immediately. If you have any doubts about taking the step to switch to Maev, trust me, jump forward with both feet. You won’t regret it!!

My dogs had a terrible reaction to this…

My dogs had a terrible reaction to this food despite following instructions. When I cancelled my subscription , Maev went ahead and processed my order. I'm out hundreds of dollars and will be sent 20lbs of food that will be thrown away. Most shelters won't accept raw food and for good reason. Maev customer service should have offered a refund and cancelled as I had asked.
