Hi Jaki, thank you so much for subscribing to us and also for your wonderful and detailed review which echoes what we are trying to achieve so thanks very much.

It's also possible to save some detergent by placing some or all the strips into the centre of the load (in the clothes) as they dissolve well and that spreads the detergent more evenly it may save you half a strip per wash. It's a new method we found in the last couple of months.

Yes as for stains a good hack is a trigger spray, a strip of melt and water preferably warm or make a paste with half a strip and some water and treat stain for 30 minutes before washing.

We have a fully natural stain-removing soap made to an old Roman recipe which works incredibly well and should be out in the next few months.

Hi Robert, many thanks for subscribing and for taking your time to leave such a nice review. It is greatly appreciated.

We've had similar feedback about the feel of softness post wash, especially in natural fibres. Many people have dispensed with fabric softeners as a result.

We now believe it is down to the softness of the water in an area and the that Melt allows soft water especially to work its magic and strip out old detergent residue. Previously if you have used liquid or pods you may have used too much for soft water (pods give no choice!) and residue can clog/harden fibres to the touch. Albeit at a micro level.

Yes great idea about the Airport Shops & Boots it is on our list! We are in discussion since last year with several Airlines (online boutique) and Melt is been rolled out across several cruise lines from this month so like you we think we can own that sector with our dry travel wash product.

Hi Rhonwen, many thanks for taking the time to review and it's great to hear your feedback I also hope the information I'm about to give you it will help reduce the amount of Melt strips used and therefore your cost.

Obviously I use Melt in my laundry and the largest load I do is a 9 kg load of my sons rugby team kit all 15 of them and usually very muddy! We live in a very hard water area (more detergent needed) and I never use more than 1.5 strips.
The results are brilliant every time. Using more does not improve the performance for us. Also don't forget Melt has a subtle fragrance.

Here's what I suggest you do to reduce the three sheets to 1.5 or 2 max:

1) Ensure your machine has had an empty hot service wash (white vinegar and bicarb of soda only) and the pump filter cleaned. Repeat this before every box of Melt.

2) Put at least one strip into the very centre of the clothes and the rest tear them and put them on the top of the sides of the drum. This will reduce the amount that you use and improve the performance as the detergent gets to work all the way through the wash much faster.

That's it... so try 1.5 then 2 strips from now on with that big load and you should be fine as I looked up your postcode and do you have soft water so you may even be able to reduce that a bit further. Don't forget you can tear the strips.

Many people forget that laundry pods also specify two or even three pods for large loads.

Either way let us know how you get on and if you manage to use two I think that's pretty good value for a 10 kg load with so many garments in there but let us know and if you think that's worth five stars that'll be great.

We agree with what you say and that's why I melt is so popular I think, that we designed it first and foremost as a product that really cleans clothes well and that also is eco not just eco.

Part of the reason is that our strips contain a special kind of bio-enzyme which breaks down stains whilst also disappearing at the end of the wash so won't affect any allergies. So far as we know there are no other strips with these enzymes as they are pretty expensive to include in a formulation.

We have other products coming out soon one is a specialist product with a luxurious aroma for delegates like Kashmir but yes you can also use the strips if you want just a subtle fresh fragrance.

Thanks Carola, that's very good of you to review and for being a subscriber as you're really then the engine from which the Melt revolution can grow.

Its a great point and one we hold dear to. Now we are up and running, we are working on a Melt Naked : version of melt with no laminate and zero fragrance a really stripped back version.

We won't lie we will then only be saving 1 g of plastic compared to original Melt yes times by a few million it's another improvement versus Ecover or a big brand bottle/pod box

The zero fragrance strips are cleaning very well in tests much better than we expected actually so its looking good.

It's great that the versatility of the product comes out especially the strength of the stain removing. If you didn't know, try putting melt right into the centre of the clothes in the centre of the wash that seems to work even better than putting the strips on the top which was the original usage instruction. Great they work at low temperatures which is what they are designed primarily to do. They do this better than pods as they dissolve so easily and that is the key.
