Just did the Merts ILS Qualfsafe qualification and it was awesome! The delivery was top-notch — super professional but also really engaging and easy to follow. It refreshed my core skills and knowledge. Dai brought the group together to work as a team and challenge each other's scope of practice, which made the whole experience even more valuable. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to refresh their emergency response skills!

FREC 3 - Hands on immersive course set in great environment with all the kit. Very good testing scenarios balanced with right amount of classroom time.
Dai clearly has loads of experience and is highly knowledgeable and this class shines through in the teaching.

Best emergency course I have completed and will be returning to Dai and the team for FREC4 and related CPD.

This is an absolutely fantastic course for those looking to develop their first aid skills. The mixture of scenario based approach to the practical skills along with the informative and engaging powerpoint presentations make this course more appealing. The trainer for this course is very knowledgeable, approachable and ready to help at the drop of a hat. The way he uses other people experiences (provided that there is any) is fantastic so he is not just discussing his own experiences. Hughley recommend this course.

I completed the MERTS Frec 3 course with Dai early March. An excellent course delivered in a supportive way; fully immersive with very real scenarios. It was a well delivered and well thought out programme.. plus great fun! I thoroughly enjoyed and would highly recommend MERTS to anyone considering this type of training programme. Thank you!

I completed my FREC3 with Merts in January 2025. The support pre course was amazing, which was pitched at the right level for an RPL student. The pre reading guidance was spot on. The course was excellent with an experienced trainer. Using real life examples enhanced the learning. Support was offered pre, during and post training. I would highly recommend this company for medical training.

Just completed a cfr-frec 3 conversion course with dai at merts. From the first point of contact until the final scenario was complete his teaching skills were great. The venue was ideal as well with plenty of room indoors as well as outside with all training equipment and scenarios set up well.

Attended a fantasics ILS session with Merts. Dai’s love for providing medical knowledge and assitance combined with his passion and expertise in teaching really made the course engaging.

All the equipment was available to utilise throughout the course and the venue provided ample space to be able to spread the scenarios out so that we were not confined to one room

I will definitely be undertaking more training sessions with Merts in the future.

I had such a wonderful training week with MERTS doing my FREC3 course during the summer, that I am going back to do the FREC4 qualification in a few weeks.
Dave was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, engaging and passionate.
Every question was answered regardless of how silly I sounded in my head! The effort that went into the scenarios was outstanding and really made all the difference; music blaring in a dark room with flashy lights and an actor with knowledge of how symptoms can present, motorway traffic beneath us on a bridge scenario, and falls from roofs all made the training immersive and incredibly useful!

If you have any interest in first aid and/or first responder courses (and above!) give them a call!

Dai’s passion and knowledge, combined with his experience as a school teacher shows, as he excels at delivering the course in an informative and engaging way. With realistic scenarios through the week, and an array of different equipment to learn with, I highly recommend his course.

I completed my FREC3 with Dai and the Team at MERTS, It was a fantastic week of learning and application. From going back to basics on day one of DRABCD and getting hands-on Chest, to day five consisting of multiple casualty trauma scenarios. With real-world examples, industry-standard kit, and a learner lead approach it was real value for money.
I would highly recommend MERTS to anyone looking to gain some more skills in the prehospital world.

Very highly recommended. I completed a 2 day paediatric first aid course with Dai who was brilliant. He has the ability to make everyone feel comfortable and delivered a fun, interactive, focused course in a way that helps it all sink in and is extremely knowledgeable. Thank you so much for making the two days fun and informative.

Organised, friendly, knowledgeable and tailored first aid training for our rugby club. Really focused on drawing out if the certificate syllabus those injuries most likely for our situation.

Dai is extremely talented at transferring complex information in a simple amfdfun way.
