I purchased a chain after clearly explaining I wanted something suitable for everyday wear. While the staff member was friendly, the product itself turned out to be very poor quality. After only a couple of months of careful use, it broke, which is unacceptable given the price.
When I raised this, I felt the response from customer care was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of taking responsibility, they refused to offer a return or exchange.
I spent a significant amount of money expecting a durable, everyday piece and instead ended up with something fragile and unreliable. Overall, a frustrating experience and not what I expected.

i am writing to express my frustration and disappointment with the treatment I received at your store ( yorkdale store , on )regarding a recent purchase.
On March 19, I purchased a 10K Figaro chain necklace valued at $420 . The item was never worn, as the recipient did not like it. Additionally, I noticed from the very beginning that the chain appeared unusually dull, which raised concerns about its quality.
When I returned to the store to request a refund, I was met with outright refusal and an unacceptable level of argument from your salesperson. Despite the necklace being completely unworn, I was repeatedly toldâbased on a cursory inspection with a loupeâthat it had been used. This accusation is both incorrect and insulting.
What is most concerning is the apparent lack of trust your staff places in customers. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern about a high-value product, I was dismissed and spoken to in a confrontational manner. This is not the level of service anyone should expect, especially when spending hundreds of dollars.
This was my first purchase from your brand, and I had expected a much higher standard of service given your reputation. Frankly, I am extremely disappointed. I never imagined that a well-known company like yours would provide such poor customer service. If this issue is not resolved in a fair and positive manner, I will not only refrain from making future purchases, but I will also discourage others from buying from your stores.
Had this been a low-cost item, I would not have pursued a return. However, for a $420 purchase, I expect professionalism, fairness, and respectânot baseless accusations and refusal to assist.
I am requesting that this matter be reviewed seriously and that a proper resolution be provided, including reconsideration of my refund request. If this issue is not addressed appropriately, I will be left with no choice but to escalate the matter further.
Worst quality ring I have ever seen. I bought a year ago, the pearl has already taken off twice. They repaired it once now I need to get it repaired again. I've had $10 rings that were better quality. Can't believe they sell these for hundreds of dollars. Absolute rip-off.

Multiple calls to the store and nothing has been done. Our associate called and told us oh they forget to put it in the shipment so either Wednesday or a holiday on the Friday.
The only reason we bought the ring was because it was a great deal, but the aggravation it's caused was definitely not worth it. We should have just spent the money elsewhere at a private jeweller.
The associate should have flat out said it won't be ready until after your departure date, at which time we would have either picked something else or gone elsewhere.
So it's not to the point where I have a wedding with no band and they can't even offer me a solution. Never again will I shop it here.

Their quality is very bad. I went every 6 month to get my rings checked and sent out for cleaning and yet 4 times back to back I had a stone fall out within 1 month of having the ring back. This was a wedding set I stopped wearing it because of how often they would fall out and only wore at large functions and yet it would fall out. Then long story short they canceled my diamond warranty and refuse to reinstate it although they admit they gave me no choice or easy way of continuing to service it every 6 months. They will do anything to say the ring is dirty and "worn" and all these other very untrue things just not to upkeep warranty. Their customer service is really poor, almost every time we went to a store we had issues to get the rings sent out. So im now at the point where they wont replace the diamonds, and I'm 100% not paying for a diamond replacement knowing the last time a diamond fell out within a month of repair and being worn maybe a max 5 times for less then 24 hour each.
I am now wedding ring -less.
If you want a good quality ring, easy customer service with folks who know what they are doing and dont give you a hassle this is not the place.

If I could give zero stars I would. Rude, trying to avoid their warranty obligations under Australian Consumer Law. Do not do business with these scam artists.
Brought product online on a click and collect staff member became snarky when I returned it one day after picking up as it did not look like the product she told me its very difficult to refund in store when it is brought online I told her the website said I can return to store she then told me I should not shop online and I should come in next time, with that service I will never shop there again
I had great service at Michael Hill Jeweller Indooroopilly, when I wanted to join my gold charms to my necklace. I wanted it done that day, so thought I'd have to do it myself. Therefore I thought maybe a nose ring or some sort of tiny lock would work. I was served by Murray who was courteous and helpful. He even offered to attach the charms then & there. I appreciated the free offer, but didn't want to fiddle with the jump rings on the charms as I thought it would weaken them. He then suggested slipping the charms onto another slightly larger jump ring, so it could slip onto the necklace & he would attach it to see if it suited what I want.
It was perfect and all for only the cost of the new 10kt gold jump ring - $11. I had been to another jeweller that day & it was going to cost a lot more & take 2 weeks.
I just had one of the most infuriating, unprofessional, and downright unacceptable customer service experiences at the Bourke Street store with Chris, who claimed to be the store manager.
I bought a ring from Michael Hill at the Werribee store â a ring with small ruby stones â and three stones fell out within only 2â3 months. Completely unbelievable for a supposedly reputable brand. I went to the Bourke Street store because itâs close to work, expecting a straightforward warranty discussion. Instead, Chris barely looked at the ring before running his finger across it for two seconds and immediately declaring, with absolute confidence, âThis wonât be covered under warranty,â because apparently this was âwear and tear.â
Less than six months of wear now counts as wear and tear for Michael Hill? That alone is disappointing, but what made the situation truly appalling was the attitude and dismissiveness that followed.
When I expressed how stunned and disappointed I was that Michael Hill doesnât seem to stand behind its own craftsmanship, Chris became defensive, rude, and completely uninterested in helping. Rather than listening or offering any real explanation, he instantly shifted blame onto me â suggesting I wore the ring too often or mishandled it. Not once did he show empathy, professionalism, or even basic courtesy.
When I told him it felt like the store didnât care at all about customer experience, he responded in a threatening, confrontational tone: âIf we didnât, weâd be having a very different conversation.â That remark alone shows exactly how little respect this store has for customers.
I left the store feeling dismissed, shocked, and genuinely threatened â the complete opposite of what any customer should feel when seeking help. The customer service was not just poor; it was absolutely disgraceful, and I had no choice but to leave and hope the Werribee store shows the level of professionalism and understanding that Bourke Street clearly lacks.
I purchased a $1,400 watch from Michael Hill online. The watch arrived in a box that was significantly water damaged - to the point where the package itself must have been left outside in a torrential rainstorm - I immediately reported the issue. Michael Hill offered a replacement (but then didn't have a single watch of the same kind to replace it with). Being a gift and on a limited timeline, I had no choice but to accept the watch as-is and purchase a new box and watch strap at my own expense. To make matters worse, MH then insultingly offered a $100 discount on a future purchase to say sorry (as if I would ever shop there ever again). Avoid at all costs, their terrible reputation is well earned and I feel like a fool for giving them a chance at all.
How is this company still getting away with this? Their "policies" are clearly unlawful and judging by these reviews there must be hundreds of complaints to the ACCC - who evidently do nothing, as usual. Consumer protection laws my ass. It's ridiculous.

My experience at this store was extremely disappointing and distressing. The staff were aggressive and applied constant sales pressure, creating confusion rather than providing guidance. Management appeared disorganised, leaving the customer feeling misled and unsupported.
I was given false and misleading information regarding the quality and colour of the ring, showing a clear lack of product knowledge and honesty. The service style was conniving and manipulative rather than professional.
Most concerning was the rude, unempathetic behaviour shown toward me, Amaro, where I felt verbally and physically intimidated during the sales process. There was no consideration for the emotional importance of a wedding day, only a focus on pushing a sale.
This level of unprofessionalism and lack of integrity is unacceptable for a jewellery brand associated with such important life moments.

I purchased my diamond wedding ring from this store and, over the past 12 months, Iâve had to have the diamonds on the band replaced four times. The quality is extremely disappointing.
I also purchased a diamond bracelet to wear on my wedding day. I wore it once, and a diamond fell out immediately. I bought the lifetime plan, but when I couldnât locate the physical copy and returned to the store within the six-month period, they refused to replace the diamond. I questioned why there was no record of my plan on their system, which makes no sense.
Absolutely unacceptable service and very poor jewellery quality. I would never shop here again.
